Receiving 12 million votes out of 31 million and in a population of 66 million doesn’t constitute representing “most.” He’s actually responding to a minority.
So, if Boris follows through on the majority vote to enact Brexit, that is divisive. But, if Boris favors the minority of Remainers, and violates the democratic vote, then he is inclusive and not divisive?
@@marthahebden9258 Are you serious? The Brexiteers aren't confused, that's wishful thinking. Leave the EU means leave the EU. Its been brought to initiative and two more votes. George Osborn, failed politician from a failed government and now has time to critique someone that has had a landslide victory in a job he has never done. Pointless interview.
pro-immigration means importing ten million africans and arabs to each european country, so that wages will hit the floor and so that the native populations will be disenfranchised and terrorized
I agree, opening post. It is the nature of where political discourse is right now - or the lack of it I guess. I dont mind "managed" immigration, im just against unfettered open borders and allowing communities to be swamped, then being all surprised when it seems to create social tensions
When is Osbourne and Davison types goin to understand that the UK voted to leave the EU. Not half leave it or quarter leave it. They voted fully out and become a fully independent country.
She and he both seem to represent everything most people don't want, and have told politicians and the media 4 times over. And they are dull as ditchwater ( or else as we have seen hysterically aggressive)
Nothing wrong with that at all. Who wouldn't want a Party consisting of liberal values on freedoms? You can believe in fundamentals, and still be Conservative.
i pretty much agree with this assessment, however, i do think that Boris was always an EU skeptic. I think he did make a conscious decision as to which side would be of most advantage to him, but i dont think he did so without also "believing" in it, even if he didnt think the side he chose was going to win
What on earth is this clown going on about. Clearly we voted for Brexit and as hard as possible, we didn’t vote for a Liberal leader. Has he not been watching the news.
2:34 I am glad the current PM doesn't overly believe in set opinions and causes...he is here to enact the will of the people. As Osborne says he believes in himself which is what is needed..he believes he has what it takes to do what we ask of him. We don't need ANOTHER ideologue!!!
I could not disagree with them more in their assessment of Boris. I think in our PM we’re going to get someone who is fairly moderate and sensible. Not pro immigration, not anti immigration - but a sensible amount. Somebody socially liberal as well as being tough on crime. Boris has an inherent need to be liked by people - and I think that will work to our advantage. He’s also incredibly intelligent. You can see in his spending plans he’s trying to get away from the typical pattern of Lab spending everything and Cons spending as little as possible so we end up on a seesaw - he’s trying to find the middle ground. As for Brexit - even if he was being an opportunist (and most likely he was) the people agreed with him. Now he will bend over backwards to get us the strongest deal possible. He is our Churchill to May’s Chamberlain.
This really shows far more how salty Osbourne, is that he didn't get to waltz in as Cameron's successor as he and Dave had planned. The Brexit vote and his utter arrogance and unpopularity amongst MPs as Chancellor. Boris believes only in Boris Johnson is a really shallow summary.
this is why you and Cameron are retired , and never even scratched the red wall, and boris smashed it and is pm, you both lost touch and still are out of touch with what the party and Country want
Boris Johnson decided to support LEAVE camp before the ref not after !!!, easy to say it used the Brexit for personal reasons but what would happen if the REMAIN camp would have won ??????? - especially when the remain camp was in front in the surveys .... he took a risk and now he is laughing.
Is this an experienced politician claiming, with a straight face, to another experienced politician that he is shocked at the idea of a politician being even the least opportunistic?
