  • Keeping your air systems clean is imperative to keeping your truck running smoothly. Whether you are running air brakes or not, there are still air systems in play and keeping those lines free of dirt and oil will save you from unnecessary repair bills.

Hey Roger, I have a 2006 Kenworth quad-axle dump truck with a Cat C-13 engine.
My truck is slow to build air.
It sat for about 18 months and now I'm getting back in it.
I have changed out the governor, then the air dryer, and the new cartridge.
My Treadle Valve and Brake Pedal were replaced because they were both seized in the down position (from corrosion) when I applied the brakes.
I then tested my air compressor output, 85psi to 100psi @ governed engine speed in less than 40 seconds.
    Mine was at 40 seconds.
My compressor is known to coke any oil in the air (heat) and send it down the line.
My research has said to replace the line from the compressor to the air dryer due to restriction from carbon in the line.
Do you know what/how to clean the line instead of replacing the line?
    Thank you, Roger or anyone.

Hey man, am not a mechanic- but when i had that problem was due to air leak. Lose air, compressor build air, governor orders purge valve,.... so on. So if ur not losing air it wont pops that often. Good luck.
