As I watch your videos I can't help noticing how your operation is getting better and better. Real smooth. You have worked hard and consistantly to get where you are. Good for you, you deserve it.
Hi Al, a tip for improving the consistency of your composting I learned from my grandfather. When you are building the pile try to mix green and brown. By that he meant that too much fresh material tends to decompose rather than compost and dead material takes longer to compost i.e mix goat house clearings with fresh mowen grass or coffee grounds with fresh vegetables trimmings. If you ever get a big load of anything and nothing to mix it with put it to the side and mix it in a bit at a time as you add other materials. I've been following that advice for four decades without problems. Hope you all have a great day.
WOW!!!! Can't believe how much great compost you have, what a great addition to the new greenhouse, I'm so jealous. Can't wait to see the new greenhouse under construction. You are the envy of organic gardeners all over the land. Haffy the Mainiac in Colorado.
Hi, we bought a bread baking machine called Morphy Richards, and it has many programs, for pizza dough etc. It won a test, so we bought that. We are very happy, baking our own bread. It takes only 5 minutes to start, and after 3.5 hrs we have wonderful bread. We have discovered that these breads are more filling and taste better than store bought bread. Also this results in us being able to store plenty flour for making bread, instead of filling a freezer with bread.. Also, here in Sweden a bread costs about 3 us dollars and upwards, but our home made bread costs only a little more than half a dollar to make. Therefore the machine pays off in a very short time, and afterwards we save money. If you do not want - or cannot - make bread the old fashioned way, this is a happy solution, we think. We could have done it ourselves, but know that we probably would not... he he. Have a wonderful spring, and stay safe and blessed at Lumnah Acres!
I love your family and your lifestyle. Olivia is a blessed young woman to have you and Gina as her parents and to be raised in an environment that most children will never know. Her education is really preparing her for life. I pray that the Lord is preparing a husband for her so they can continue this lifestyle. Love your videos too. God bless you.
Thank you Gina for you honesty and is much appreciated, since I have been watching you Guys on Lumnah Aches I have watched your confidence grow and it's a pleasure to see. Go girl and please keep the recipes coming, especially with the slow cooker/crock pot as I have no idea what I'm doing. Much love to you all.
Looks like everything is moving along great....just need the weather to cooperate. Gina...I am going to attempt your bread recipe...you have inspired me! My mother used to bake bread like this when I was your daughters age...it didn't last long between my 3 younger siblings and I! You seem to be an excellent cook. I like to see what recipes you cone up with. I enjoy seeing you all together at the dinner table and love that you say a blessing before every meal. You both are awesome parents. Keep up the good work you're doing and stay safe. 😊❤
Its is so sweet to see Nora jump and kick! She is definately your new star🐐baby of the show! It is also cute to see hope and maggie and little p romp and play! And the boys! They all know spring has sprung! Lets hope we all saw the emd of the snow! I still have quite a bit around from the 16th and 17th of April!
Nice seeing vegies coming up in the hoop house. These are definitely worth it. Gina, your bread looks amazing! Love seeing little Nora running around like she does. She is so cute and funny.
I made the white sandwich bread recipe to go with dinner... FABULOUS!! My best white bread loaf EVER! I even halved the recipe and STILL got two good-sized loaves.... Thanks Gina!!
We use our Kubota belly mower for a bush hog, cuz its all we got, as well! We do the pastures once a year,in late summer. We have 5acres. Good job on the bread, Gina, ive been making our own for about 5months. No more store bought for us!
We as viewers know it takes lots of work to record and edit your videos. Most of we viewers are restricted to our homes and have been for weeks and deeply appreciate your work to make a bright spot to our day. THANK YOU.
A nice big chunk of warm bread with real butter on it sounds awesome! :-) And I had this weird dream last night that I'd turned up at your home, and you appeared to know who I was! Then Livvy took me out to show me the chicks, and overnight, one of them had become an ostrich! :-O
You need to put chains on the low tunnel top to the side of the raised bed so it stays upright. You can damage the plastic if it hits something on the ground. I love having my breakfast while watching your videos!❤️
Al, you can buy insulation made specifically for pipes. They're like long Styrofoam slip-covers that are split on one side. Just cut to length, fit them over the pipes, and wrap with twine on top. They would probably work fine until all danger of freezing is over. If the pigs didn't eat them, lol.
Al, so impressed how much work that little Kubota can do. Also, thank you for Videoing your tractor’s axle seal change, I going to have to change mine on my L3800. It looks a lot easy than I first thought.
Great compost! We're all excited about your new greenhouse coming, you should be able to grow great food this summer. Dora is so precious, love seeing all that jumping willow is such a good mom. Great job on the bread, it's great to be able to make your own food for your family. God bless you and your family 💞🙏👼💖
That bread looked fantastic Gina...you're like me...I love the heel too. Yum toasted and peanut butter on it. Now that's what I'll fix this morning. Y'all have a Blessed day.
We have been making sourdough bread. Boy is that addicting! We use a DR Mower for out pastures and areas we want to bush hog. It can mow down trees up to 3-4" in diameter. Blessings to all.
If you combine those compost heaps into say two larger heaps, or single heap, they will generate more heat in the core and compost quicker. Also you can sprinkle in some septic tank RidX (an enzyme) and this works as a great starter for composting, and could perhaps help accelerate your current compost heaps. Since you have the tractor, this would be an easy task. It's really great that you are taking adbvantage of natural compost... Joe
One trick for your breads. To get the top browned but soft like the store bought ones, coat the top and sides with melted butter when it comes out of the oven and when you remove it from the pan coat the sides.
When I changed my goats' feed I mixed a little new in with the old. Gradually I increased the amount of new feed they would get. It wasn't long before they only had the new feed.
Livvy is going to be a great mom when the time comes. She already has the snuggle & rocking down , LOL. I love seeing how much love she gives to her animals.
Oh this is sooo damn exciting to watch you digging up the compost piles and the old chook shed!! Loving this - making my old bones wanting to get out there with you!
Good morning Al, Gina and Lumnah Acres! I am trying to grow my own Sugar Maple trees in my house but it would be much nicer to be outside. I will post a progress video soon but it has only been two weeks so far but they are beginning to open up! It's amazing! Because I used organic material it is causing some mould to grow so I looked online and there were a few solutions that I could have used but is too late because the maple keys are growing already. one is to use straight compost and another is soil-less potting mixture but because I planted them already I've tried to sprinkle them with cinnamon as supposedly this stops the mould from growing and is "good" for the soil as well. I will let you know how it goes. I posted some new videos on my own channel called "Living the Northern Life" and have a special Playlist (The Timber Frame House) dedicated to my journey to building my own Timber Frame House. Come check it out and Subscribe. It's not much but we are just starting out! Thanks to everyone in advance!
Your beautiful kitchen aide mixer has an attachment to grind wheat berries and others grains to make flour. Don't know if you have it. I love milling my own flour. I make mostly a blend of white and wheat. Um so good. Yours looked great-I agree that the heel is the best part. Nice to watch you cooking.
Same here put a cover up on one of my beds and it’s growing I’m amazed cause it’s been cold the past week nights with hard frost and still it’s growing!
Is there anything better than nice, dark, rich compost? I don't think so. Gonna get some great food growing out of that. Was shocked to see the ice though. Always thought compost was warm. Learned something new. Gina, great looking bread. My favorite is the heel. Was the only one of 7 kids who always got the two heels. The others refused to eat them. Stay safe, and God Bless.
Loved your artisan bread so much I changed over from another I'd been making for over 4 years. So I can't wait to try the soft sandwich bread! Thanks O !
Oh man!!! "This City boy" can see the spring joy into your ayes. I'm leaving with you, the life that I've never could achieve. . . . . . . Don't get me wrong; No complains about my life, I'm enjoying my family as you are, but there is something that you'll miss. . .
GINA , Just as soon as those Bread Loaves came out of the Oven You should have brushed the tops with melted butter to give the loaves a shine and make the slices taste really great with butter flavored crusts ! That's what My late beloved G'Ma always did with Everything she Baked !
Nora needs a play bench. They just love to play and jump on old trees, old play ground plastic pieces annd old round dog houses. She is so cute and healthy. Everything looks great!
When you next sow in your low tunnels you should succession sow things like lettuce that don't stand for long. So instead of planting a whole row just sow a few inches, then 1-2 weeks later sow a bit more, etc etc etc then you have fresh stuff over a longer period. Lettuce is really good for that, plus spring onions, beets, carrots
Gina....did you know you can use your instant pot to raise bread dough(it works so well) Just push the yogurt button and adjust until the screen says 24:00 hours. It usually takes about 30 minutes to double the rise of the dough!!!!
Good mornin New Yolk City ... would it help to put some straw etc in the Copper Maran nesting boxes? Hope was a happy camper this morning. You guys have lots'o compost in the making ... two thumbs up. I've not eaten white bread in more than 25 years now, but I've never made my own either. You guys are gonna be making lots'o salads shortly ... good for you. Take care AL, Gina & Olivia ... have a nice weekend.
Bees Al....what's happin with the BEEEEES!!?? I don't know that we'll get to bees this year, just too much to do at the new homestead but, I'll be watching you to see what you've got goin on and how you're doing it. Place looks so different today!! Amazing progress!! And that fresh baked bread!!!!! Oh yea that's the best way to have it!! Looked as good as I bet it tasted! Great job Gina! Passed Olivias taste test!! LOL!

Your Mowing Music is awesome around 9:20. It reminded me of a sad, sad loss but I won't mention any names so you don't get in any trouble in spite of yourself...
Al when feeding the goats, have you thought about going down to the feeder and putting out most of it before getting the girls? Then just go down with them with a small amount still left in the scoop to add to the feeder. That way it'll already be there nicely spread out, AND maybe it'll also make them learn that that's where the feed will be so you eventually could just open their door and they'd just run down there to eat..
It always make me happy that you decided to keep Liitle Man as a wether instead of selling him. When I see him roughhousing with the boys it puts a grin on my face 😀😀😀
I don't know if your local tractor supply has it yet, but they are carrying Grublies now It would be cool if Gina made short videos dedicated to the meal of the day so if we want to try something she made, it would be easier to find. Plus she could further her editing skills with it.
Hey Al you should put something else for Nora to climb on in her stall just a little higher than the feeder so she can jump one to the other. Just a suggestion since she likes to climb.
As I watch your videos I can't help noticing how your operation is getting better and better. Real smooth. You have worked hard and consistantly to get where you are. Good for you, you deserve it.

Ellie Christine. J Alaska bread is like 4-5$ a loaf and my kids go through probably 3 a week
That compost looks fabulous and there sure is an abundance of it. Love the spring and all the baby animals it brings. Thanks for taking us along.
The heel of the loaf is the best part
Fresh bread out off the oven. Mmm good. Remember growing up that. The homestead looking ever so fine. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Gina for you honesty and is much appreciated, since I have been watching you Guys on Lumnah Aches I have watched your confidence grow and it's a pleasure to see. Those legs on goats and sheep are ideal for gaining vertical ground. Baby goats are made of rubber bands and springs!
Nice seeing vegies coming up in the hoop house. These are definitely worth it. Gina, your bread looks amazing! Love seeing little Nora running around like she does. She is so cute and funny.

I'm very new too ur channel, i have been binge watching you for the last few days. You have a beautiful Homestead and a beautiful family!
Those are all cool weather crops so yes they will be ready to grow. Thanks for sharing the bids.
Al your chickens need some straw or something in their nesting boxes to entice them so they lay in them.
A nice big chunk of warm bread with real butter on it sounds awesome! :-)
And I had this weird dream last night that I'd turned up at your home, and you appeared to know who I was! Then Livvy took me out to show me the chicks, and overnight, one of them had become an ostrich! :-O

I love Hope.

Great job on the bread, it's great to be able to make your own food for your family. God bless you and your family 💞🙏👼💖
I do not live where it snows but I would like to still build a hoop house! Thank you for the inspiration!
It is good to see Nora feeling so good.

And I love your covered bed mini greenhouse! 👍👍👍
You could line the inside of the hoop house with bubble wrap for some tropical gardening
That sandwichbread looked delicius....! Stay safe and well.
Compost needs water to process. Those piles could probably use thirty or forty gallons of water each to get them going.
I agree. Compost really cooks with the right moisture content.
Lots of good compost! The bread looked delicious!
Your goats are just wonderful to watch
It never gets old when your goats hop or buck. Always funny
Spring has sprung and a lot of it is in Nora's legs! Ha. What a hoppy goat. The home made bread looks fantastic. 💖🐷🐐🐔

Loving the critters in the morning. :) The tunnel is great!
Hello Al , Gina & Olivia ,
Wow ! You guys are slowly edging up to 200 K subscribers !
When I changed my goats' feed I mixed a little new in with the old. Gradually I increased the amount of new feed they would get. It wasn't long before they only had the new feed.
I don't think it's the right time to change feed, at least not with a Momma goat.
@@anitablades6033 If it's done gradually enough it should be fine, so long as the new feed has all the nutrition the mamma would need.
It's so cute how Nora tries to climb everything including you.
Hop on mom too!🐐
Livvy is going to be a great mom when the time comes. She already has the snuggle & rocking down , LOL. I love seeing how much love she gives to her animals.
We can't even find flour where we are. Sold out everywhere. Thank God I had a good supply on hand. Your bread looked yummy Gina!
Dear Miss Gina, could you please share the Bread recipe that you made today? Thank you and God Bless to you and your family!
Sorry, it pays to read everything, lol. Thank you
Oh this is sooo damn exciting to watch you digging up the compost piles and the old chook shed!! Loving this - making my old bones wanting to get out there with you!
The Spring Big Thaw...don't you just love it!

Al. Maybe the south will have a cooler summer
Same here put a cover up on one of my beds and it’s growing I’m amazed cause it’s been cold the past week nights with hard frost and still it’s growing!
Morning Al,,,, why is there no straw in the nesting boxes for the black hens? Could be why they lay eggs on the floor?
Wahn Burnskill Yes I feel sorry for them
Is there anything better than nice, dark, rich compost? I don't think so. Gonna get some great food growing out of that. Was shocked to see the ice though. Always thought compost was warm. I love the coloring of Willow and Nora!!
add straw in the beds for the chickens in the brooder area, will lessen the chipping against hard wood
Very nice video bread looks yummy
Loved your artisan bread so much I changed over from another I'd been making for over 4 years. So I can't wait to try the soft sandwich bread! Thanks O !
Oh man!!! "This City boy" can see the spring joy into your ayes.
I'm leaving with you, the life that I've never could achieve. . . . . . .
Don't get me wrong; No complains about my life, I'm enjoying my family as you are, but there is something that you'll miss. . .
Well the farm is getting there, looking really good, I kinda wish i was there I miss the country.....
Olivia kills me "it seems like bread" hahahah. Glad it turned out ladies!
My family are sandwich ppl. It’s fun to see you guys have a sandwich night for dinner. ❤️
No one can stop Hope from leaping for joy❣️🙋🏻🥳
All that bread dough I was thinking Stromboli, French toast and bread pudding... mmmm. Have a blessed day
Bread looks yummy.I make all my bread sourdough is favorite at my house.
Wish I could find flour and yeast in the stores. Bread looks amazing.
I believe if you have a bed like that covered bed in the high tunnel you will be able to have greens growing all winter long
always enjoy watching and always willing to learn.
My wife and I say... B.E.A. utiful bread Gina!
I look forward to your videos everyday you post
The mower part reminds me of a time watching stop animation with my kids of bob the builder! Lol! The drone footage is cool!!
GINA , Just as soon as those Bread Loaves came out of the Oven You should have brushed the tops with melted butter to give the loaves a shine and make the slices taste really great with butter flavored crusts ! That's what My late beloved G'Ma always did with Everything she Baked !
OMG Gina, 🙋♀️ first slice of crust please with a smear of butter 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Josie Fleetwood ...and honey!
Nice bucket for the oinkers. 😋
I've been using an electric knife to slice my sandwich bread, it works great.
Al you should add a chain or strap to keep the hinged cover from going back all the way.
Maybe a backhoe attachment would be a nice thing to have makes removing stumps easier
Gina....did you know you can use your instant pot to raise bread dough(it works so well) Just push the yogurt button and adjust until the screen says 24:00 hours. It usually takes about 30 minutes to double the rise of the dough!!!!
A good way to stir your compost piles would be to put your forks on your bucket.
LOL!
Gina, The most impressive thing here is a black jumper that remained black throughout bread making!😁. Regards Stephen.
Gina that bread looks so good !
Al, why not put something in the stall for sweet Nora to jump on besides the feeder? Box, tree trunk...
Could always put moose and the girls to work on a compost pile in New Yolk city they would scratch and turn it especially if you put their feed on it then you pile it back up for them once a weekish.
Our Nigerian are picky also. The kiko would eat anything if you let him. I mix our feed it cheaper. Sunflower, sweet mix, oats little corn once in a while. Or alternate sweet mix out with alpha pellets. Girls love there grain and hay. Havent found a treat they like yet.
Hi from Mentor Ohio! You seem to have some great springs installed on your goats!
Your Mowing Music is awesome around 9:20. It reminded me of a sad, sad loss but I won't mention any names so you don't get in any trouble in spite of yourself...
Enjoying your daily videos. Seems like we are a couple weeks ahead with Spring here in Connecticut.
Al when feeding the goats, have you thought about going down to the feeder and putting out most of it before getting the girls? Then just go down with them with a small amount still left in the scoop to add to the feeder. That way it'll already be there nicely spread out, AND maybe it'll also make them learn that that's where the feed will be so you eventually could just open their door and they'd just run down there to eat..
haha. that would spoil some of the best takes in these videos!
It always make me happy that you decided to keep Liitle Man as a wether instead of selling him. When I see him roughhousing with the boys it puts a grin on my face 😀😀😀
Beautiful Bread 🍞
I don't know if your local tractor supply has it yet, but they are carrying Grublies now
It would be cool if Gina made short videos dedicated to the meal of the day so if we want to try something she made, it would be easier to find. Plus she could further her editing skills with it.
Hey Al you should put something else for Nora to climb on in her stall just a little higher than the feeder so she can jump one to the other. Just a suggestion since she likes to climb.
