Nora may seem nice in the US but in the UK it goes with old women, wrinkled stockings and "Bl***y Nora!" as an exclamation of disapproval /disgust. Depends on if the baby goat is a real nuisance!
Lumnah Acres where are the choices for names? I clicked the link but it just took me to your home page and there was nothing there about the poll. I like Fern for the baby. We call the strips of leaves off a willow tree a fern so she’s an offshoot of willow.
I was thinking about why I like your videos so much. You do the same things as many other homesteaders. But your videos make me feel calm and relaxed. Plus when you guys are cooking, I am wishing that I was sitting at your dinner table too. Thank you for sharing your skills, knowledge, and your lives with us. Nest Wishes. Grandpa Jones. 😃
That's the same name I suggested last vedio. And it looks like a lot of people think the same, due to the amount of likes that are here. Hope that is Al, Gina and Olivia's pick. It seems perfect. G-D BLESS and stay safe.
Essie... short for Esther.. she was born for such a time as this... she brings joy during such a difficult time in our world right now... she’s so sweet..
Bell pepper freezes beautifully for use in soups and stews. I routinely catch it when it is on sale and chop it all up for the freezer. Freeze it loose on a cookie sheet (jelly roll sheet), then drop into a freezer bag. When you need some in a dish, just pour out how much you want. I use the same process for celery.
Ok, Ribs are on my Weber, and it will be a little while yet till done, And Gina is Cooking..Will I ever learn?? Always makes me So hungry!! Hahaha! Oh no! Biscuits Too?? Calm down my restless Tummy!! Happy Easter to the Lumnah Family..You bring so many smiles to us, "The Viewers". Thank You for sharing!!
I just found your channel and I love watching your daily activity, the love and respect you have for the earth, animals, family. Such great positive interaction
Gina, a couple of tips when baking biscuits. Freeze your butter and use a cheese grater to add it to flour. Will require very little cutting in. i just use a fork. Also, pat your dough out on pan you are going to use. Then cut them like you did but don't separate them. Will rise more. Love your channel.
That stew beef (What my parents called it.) looks fantastic. Mom would make a huge pot that would last for days, then later add the tomatoes (along with corn) to change the flavor and make it more into a soup. As a highly active teenager who lived in the woods hunting and fishing, I lived off of this stuff when I came home. Brings back good memories. Thank you for sharing. Dave
Hello all..Lol so many exciting new things happening on the home stead...our favorite thing to watch...And guess what I'm.making for supper today....Gina your stew and biscuits looked spook yummy.. Ps..what a beautiful baby goat..i guessed wrong I said 3..lol Liked Gina 's comment...Williow just teaching her and Livy...to.share..lol
Gina please don,t take this the wrong way, but allow the knife to do the work when cutting veg, hold the handle and loosen your wrist doing an up and down motion, and please hold the veg with your fingers underneath so your cutting next to your knuckles, so if the knife slips you gets a grazed knuckle and not a chopped finger, I hold my breath every time I watch you prep , just thinking of your safety, it takes practice and ive had plenty from many years of restaurant and kitchen work , I love that all your meals are homemade and home grown
Put your biscuits close together, all 12 on same pan, will make them rise higher. The way you spread them out and on two trays they won't rise very high.
Peggy Sue I was going to say the same thing. Also, brush a little milk on the top so they get a golden look when baked. My dad would call them anemic biscuits, too pale.
Hi there.. My mama always poked fork holes in the top of her biscuits. She said it helped them rise. She also heated her baking dish before she put them into it to start them rising right away. Cheers :)
I have 3 boys (16,11 & 7) so seeing miss Olivia's tiny meal portions always makes me smile. I think she might have the same as my youngest. Also what type of plastic did you use for the garden covers?
What a cute baby! Can't wait until we have babies on the homestead! I noticed in one of your other videos when you went to my two favorite stores, how much more your Tractor Supply has than ours down here! (halfway between the lakes region and the seacoast) I'm jelly!
Willow trusts you so much, she wasn't concerned in the least by her baby calling for her while you were holding her. It's like she was going "Relax, kid, it's just Al. He won't hurt you."
I’m seeing this video today in New Brunswick Canada and we just finished receiving 25 cm of snow. It was just really starting to melt and I was getting excited about gardening too. Oh well, that’s just the way it goes. Great to see you get yours started early. No better feeling after winter than planting some seeds to make the summer feel closer.
All the babies look great. Love the tour of all the animals. More and more chickens are escaping. 😀🐔 The goat baby is doing well, so cute. You have a good start on your garden. 💞🐐🐷🐔👍
That is a nice hand cultivator Al. I always used a shovel before. Now I don't grow a garden due to health. I am wanting to get a bucket for some tomatoes!
I am a new subscriber from Bell Island, Newfoundland, Canada. Love your channel don't miss a day. Baby goat is gorgeous love the name Nora. Take care stay safe.
Gina I was told along time ago that if you cook your scones or biscuits in a shallow cake tin and close together they rise much better cause the only way is up as they rise and cook they are easy to pull apart when you take them from the oven
So cute! Willow's like, what ya'll looking at?🐐👀 its only a baby goat! The farm is getting busy, and spring is in the air! Lov you guys stay blessed 🙏🐖🐐🚄💨🔜💯🤗👍🏽 the raised bed hoops look great!
Good morning Al, Gina and Olivia. Wonderful to see the baby goat! I am used to seeing Nubians. The Nigerian Dwarf would be the breed of my choice. I like their personality and size. They may stay inside the fencing better. And they would produce just enough milk for the three of us. Our first calf arrived yesterday. A Hereford heifer. 19 to go, unless we have twins! Gina, my Grandmother Hazel taught me how to make baking powder biscuits in the 1950s. I gently pat out the dough and place the high biscuits, shoulder to shoulder into a 12" fry pan. A double recipe fills the pan. Sometimes I preheat the pan. Makes me think of my Gram every time I make them :-)
As for using Chicken Broth for Beef stew. I have been known to just use the broth I have for whatever I am cooking. Last week I actually used a remaining chicken broth, beef broth and vegetable broth all at once. It tasted fine. I just absolutely detest throwing out something if I don't have to. Especially these days. I end up with a few things in the fridge because certain recipes use a cup of this or that. It's a good way of using up what you have.
A couple of days back you asked us to comment on the difference between a greenhouse and a high tunnel. Well a greenhouse is a permanent structure such as a garage, or a barn, and are considered out buildings and thus a permanent “ taxable asset “. A high tunnel can be disassembled and moved to your new home. Thus it is “ non taxable “ is most areas of the US.
I started some melons, cuc's, 3 types of tomatoes, bush beans, parsley, basil, oregano, swiss chard. The only thing that has a place are the beans. Will have to work on a place for everything else.
Gina is a great heavy equipment operator. Why am I not surprised. I think Easter Lily continues the line of flower names for Willow's kids. Lily for short. She is a really sweet little gal. Love her already! Lily are such sweet flowers.
What......as a kid I remember my mom& grandma out there on good Friday, snowing to beat the band & cold, planting peas, taters, swiss chard, spinach....ikr crazy. They knew best.
Gina, as soon as those homemade Biscuits came out of the oven while still hot or warm, you should have brushed the Tops of them with butter to give them a shine plus add extra flavor! I always do that with both homemade or store bought Grands biscuits !
I had a thought about fixing the space where the chickens try to get out between the gate and post. How about screwing a long vertical piece of rubber,(like you use to cover the feeders) between the post and gate. The rubber would easily flex to let you open and close the gate, and keep the chickens from getting out!
Moose! There he is. He’s ok! Yay. We miss seeing him on a regular basis. That Figaro, so funny. Such a curios boy. An acrobat kitty. So talented. I can’t decide on the name for the dueling. But she sure is adorable. Dora? (ble) I really like the way you chopped that pepper Gina. So much easier. 😊 thanks. I really like that you sauté your veggies for soups. Adds more flavor. I do that when I make spaghetti sauce. I’ll have to try that too. Olivia, you are such a great helper and animal handler. High five ✋. Hope adope, still a favorite.❤️❤️❤️❤️
The new rake you used in your raised bed is awesome. Aren't you moving Rusty & his ladies in with the turkeys & chicks on the separate side? Your piglets seem like they're warming up to you.
Hey Al, Gina, Livy, hope you all are doing well on this day. Love you guys videos. Agree with some other comments Miss Gina, is is that you need to put your biscuits in the same pan with the sides touching. How you cut them is not relevant. Nora is a nice name for the new baby. But I know I'm too late for the pole but I think when you think of Willow and the branches of the willow tree. Windy is good for when the wind blows through the branches. LOL. Take care. God bless you and yours
Cute little battery operated tiller, that you can control how much to turn up is more fun than a manual fork. Especially if you have other means of exercise and projects to finish.
i saw on youtube this guy and he is planting supermarket vegetables .. so like that onion end you would put root end down in muddy soil or in water and it will take.. celery too... then he did potatoes, garlic and a bunch of herbs he snipped and put in water and they rooted... i am going to try the celery .. it gets a bit mushy at first then it starts sprouting in about 2 weeks.
Ya, what's going on with Rusty and his ladies? Did you get rid of them? Are they still alive? Did Rusty end up in the stewing pot? Come on Al, we need to see them more often how their progressing are the ladies still laying eggs? R.
just a method I learned from my mother . To get stickey stuff like tomatoe paste , chocolate icing , pudding ect, out of the can simply cleanly and effortly, cut both ends off the can with the can opener and push the lid through the can (Clean empty can)
Are you going to build a feeding platform for the pigs this year ? "Living Traditions Homestead" had a nice design they put together for their porkers.
Gina? I've done this for years. Open both ends of the tomato paste can. Leave the lids on. Then push the paste out. Remove the lids. Throw them and the can away. Of course this only works if you plan to use the whole can.
Always great video's, babies are looking great! Gina yummy food! I've had my calming for today now I can go to work! You guys have a wonderful day! God bless y'all!!
Hiya. I have the perfect name for Willow's baby. :) I watched you raking the gardens...and thought of Maddison Square Garden in NY. Her name is Maddison...Maddie for short. :) God bless you guys. Much love, Pastor Liz Williams.
Help us choose a name for Willow's Baby we have a Poll going the girls really like Nora which means Light bit.ly/32zqY5P
Callie (Caleb's first)
Nora is a nice name, also.
Nora may seem nice in the US but in the UK it goes with old women, wrinkled stockings and "Bl***y Nora!" as an exclamation of disapproval /disgust. Depends on if the baby goat is a real nuisance!
I like Maizy
Petal
Lumnah Acres where are the choices for names? I clicked the link but it just took me to your home page and there was nothing there about the poll. I like Fern for the baby. We call the strips of leaves off a willow tree a fern so she’s an offshoot of willow.

Best Wishes. Not nest Wishes. Lol. 😃
you have such a way with your animals it's great
Your videos of the goats make my day. Thanks for sharing.
You always say that we are a huge blessing to you. I am sure you know it but your family is a great blessing to we the viewer too. Stay safe.
Amen..!!
Willow's baby should be named Whisper like the wind blowing through the willows!
That's the same name I suggested last vedio. And it looks like a lot of people think the same, due to the amount of likes that are here. Hope that is Al, Gina and Olivia's pick. It seems perfect. G-D BLESS and stay safe.
Angels Arrived I was unaware we must be on the same wave length. Time will tell.
Willow & "TIPPY"? Adorable seeing Olivia holding the kid with both Moms near by. Happy Easter Lumnah Family!
Essie... short for Esther.. she was born for such a time as this... she brings joy during such a difficult time in our world right now... she’s so sweet..

I ordered the broad fork for my raised beds! Thanks for code. Happy Easter, He is Risen. God bless.
Aw baby goats are so sweet :D Mr Figaro on the job again I see lol :)
5:30 Figaro Figaro Figaro!!!!!!!!!!
Hilarious, after Al carries him away, BOOM he is back in a flash. LOL
Figaro is the owner he lets Al and the family live there.
So much going on at the same time!!! LOVE IT!!!!
THANK YOU FOR TAKING US ALONG ON PART OF YOUR JOURNEY. MANY BLESSING.
Take care and stay safe.

Put your biscuits close together, all 12 on same pan, will make them rise higher. The way you spread them out and on two trays they won't rise very high.
That is what I do. I grease a 12" black cast iron fry pan and place my biscuits shoulder to shoulder. They come out great! You can pre heat the pan.
Peggy Sue I was going to say the same thing. Also, brush a little milk on the top so they get a golden look when baked. My dad would call them anemic biscuits, too pale.
Thanks good advice...lol
@@cherylemaybury9967 Or brush them with egg. Take care.
Agree ,they are to far apart.
Hi there.. My mama always poked fork holes in the top of her biscuits. She said it helped them rise. She also heated her baking dish before she put them into it to start them rising right away. Cheers :)
Breeze sounds better. Like a breath of fresh air.
I so wish I had help around my farm like you Al...you are so good at what you do.
I just saw my first video of yours. I love your videos. It is so nice to see a family living off the land. I am looking forward to the next video
Debi Spilker - Watch some of their older videos & you will become a binge watcher!
You have such a beautiful family! You all work together and make it all happen!
Love your covered beds!
I can't believe there was only one baby in there. Willow was big as a house!
So glad you can get started planting. I started outside spring crop about a week ago. Good luck guys. Nice hoop house.
I have 3 boys (16,11 & 7) so seeing miss Olivia's tiny meal portions always makes me smile. I think she might have the same as my youngest.
Also what type of plastic did you use for the garden covers?

Will you create more row cover planting beds? How much do you want to grow for your family? What NEW projects are in the future for your homestead?
Willow trusts you so much, she wasn't concerned in the least by her baby calling for her while you were holding her. It's like she was going "Relax, kid, it's just Al. He won't hurt you."
I can’t believe the Al is the only one who has a drink when they eat dinner! I’ve watched so many videos and he’s the only one who ever has one!
My husband is the same... well he drinks milk with his dinner and i prefer no drink ...more room for food haha
I’m seeing this video today in New Brunswick Canada and we just finished receiving 25 cm of snow. It was just really starting to melt and I was getting excited about gardening too. Stew over the biscuits would have been awesome too. Great job.
What a great day on the homestead. It looks invigorating with all the new life. Those biscuits looked amazing! Blessings to all.
I love how you guys include Olivia in the projects. You are teaching her so many good life lessons.
Great video! Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers 💕

We enjoy watching you folks and with what is going on in this world today you are a joy to watch. How about naming the goat Bree .
The hoop houses look great as do the seedlings under the grow lights. All the babies look happy and healthy. Have a very Happy Easter.
You can run your broad folk over the top of the soil to make your rows. Way to extend your growing season with the hoop house.
So cute! Willow's like, what ya'll looking at?🐐👀 its only a baby goat! The farm is getting busy, and spring is in the air! Lov you guys stay blessed 🙏🐖🐐🚄💨🔜💯🤗👍🏽 the raised bed hoops look great!
You all do everything so Classy!
Biscuits looked great, Gina!
😀👍🏻
Never get enough of baby goats 🥰

Looks like the baby goat likes Olivia as much as Olivia likes the baby goat!! So cute!! Beef stew looks yummy!!
Gooood morning Al and family.
I started some melons, cuc's, 3 types of tomatoes, bush beans, parsley, basil, oregano, swiss chard. The only thing that has a place are the beans. Will have to work on a place for everything else.
you could also put in snow peas for the greens. My newest discovery this year and better than any green I've ever had before.
That meal looked DELICIOUS!!GREAT video guys!!
Gina is a great heavy equipment operator. Why am I not surprised. I think Easter Lily continues the line of flower names for Willow's kids. Lily for short. She is a really sweet little gal. Love her already! Lily are such sweet flowers.
Hey I like that ....too
Figaro really likes the garden cover.
That is a wonderful tool!...and looks soooo much easier than a standard garden fork..lol

How wonderful to have your cold frames, Imm certain you will use them for years to come.
I like the name Coco. It goes with her coloring. Happy Easter!! Be safe!! Love you guys!!!💖
Here is a tip i learned from my mother if you want to try it. Freeze your butter and grate it into your flour and mix it and cut biscuits.
Great job! Hope the early garden works great for yall.

I'd like to see more of Rusty & his ladies. Are they giving eggs frequently?

Happy Easter! 💜💜💜💜💜💜🌷🌷🌷🌷💜💜💜💜💜🌷🌷🌷🌷💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🌷🌷🌷🌷💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🌷🌷🌷🌷💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🌷🌷🌷🌷💜💜💜💜💜💜
Very nice baby goat cute
just a method I learned from my mother . To get stickey stuff like tomatoe paste , chocolate icing , pudding ect, out of the can simply cleanly and effortly, cut both ends off the can with the can opener and push the lid through the can (Clean empty can)
Most cans have a weird bottom now that you can't use an opener on. They are always making things new and less useful!
Are you going to build a feeding platform for the pigs this year ? "Living Traditions Homestead" had a nice design they put together for their porkers.
Your dirt looks so rich & nice!*
That stew looks delicious. I make mine pretty much the same but I put wine in it and parsley
Happy Easter 🐰
Good morning from Philadelphia... have a blessed day
Gina? I've done this for years. Open both ends of the tomato paste can. Leave the lids on. Then push the paste out. Remove the lids. Throw them and the can away. Of course this only works if you plan to use the whole can.
Love watching Gina make soup. It reminds me of my Mom every time. She didn't always believe in rules either!
Good Mawning Lumnah’s! Looking good!
I just ordered my broad fork and used your discount code. Thank you. I have been wanting a broad fork for a while now
Great Show Guys
Love your vlogs Al ..Happy Easter to the family
Are you trying to root the root side of the onion you used in the stew
And save the red bell pepper seeds
Now that’s my kind of biscuits!
I watch you guys everyday (at least when you send videos)
Have a great Easter weekend and May God continue to bless you family.
Always great video's, babies are looking great! Gina yummy food! I've had my calming for today now I can go to work! You guys have a wonderful day! God bless y'all!!
That is a great idea. Raised bed/ green house. NH weather is unpredictable
Hiya. I have the perfect name for Willow's baby. :) I watched you raking the gardens...and thought of Maddison Square Garden in NY. Her name is Maddison...Maddie for short.
:) God bless you guys. Much love, Pastor Liz Williams.
