I just got the Roku subwoofer and I can say, that Roku is putting out some very good equipment. The bass is all there, but tight and punchy when required. I was very surprised, considering it's only a 10 inch downfiring driver. I recommend putting it on a solid surface for optimal punch.
Agree about sound on small roku. Works great, but ended up setting it up in my small RV, which was a perfect fit. I’ll be getting the larger one for my house. Great review!
This was a great review! Very informative and answered all my questions without too much unnecessary info. Oh and thanks for the tip about the subwoofer and surround speakers. 😀
Good video, I guess I bought the wrong one (lol), but it's for a little TV in a small room. I'll get the bigger one for another TV. I have the back speakers and subwoofer. It sounds really good all together. Thanks for the tip.
I even tried the Sonos beam gen2 and I preferred my spaced out roku wireless speakers. That was shocking to me. Anywho, for those that have the bigger roku soundbar do you like it? Does anyone have that soundbar and also the wireless speakers up front? If so how do you like it?
Nice to know that the Streambar Pro comes with a remote that has headphone capability - even if it's not great, it's a nice option when others in the house are sleeping. I think it has a Bluetooth option too, but haven't investigated that yet.
This is really late, mainly because I just ordered the Pro for a basement TV and I wanted to know the main difference after ordering and I think I can answer the question for what the standard Streambar is for. I have two of the Polk Audio MagniFi Minis that are essentially the exact same size as the Streambar and they are great. They have virtual surround sound and they are legit some of the best speakers I've ever heard for a TV. The difference though is that the Polk Audio system comes with the sub in the box. I think the Streambar was trying to compete against the MagniFi Mini, however the Roku doesn't come with the sub and at the time if they would have included the sub it would have been just as expensive as the Polk Audio (if not more because I think I got the MagniFi Minis for around $250 each) and I don't know if Roku was ready to try that at the time.
Excellent, just what I was looking for!!! I was hesistant about the Pro due to its size, which covers my entire stand (the TV is mounted above, things like DVD player and cable box below, and I wonder what the best way to mount that behemoth is. It has wall mounts (which I didn't hear mentioned), but I wonder if it can attach to the bottom of the TV itself. Also, I thought that I read somewhere that the smaller one has to be connected to the HDMI ARC port on your TV, if it has one, while the larger one does not. If true, this is another consideration for folks. "Considerations" would be a great way to wrap up this video. Pro: better sound, headphone jack on remote for private listening, two shortcut buttons on remote, as I recall its remote also has voice commands (while the smaller one does not), but takes up more space. Regular: smaller size, voice remote, but average sound, no headphone jack, no shortcut button.
Yeah the Pro is much better, even if it is a bit pricey--the Pro I think has only ever gone as low as $150 US on sale; the standard one has gone down to like $80 before I think, meaning it can be anywhere from a $40-70 premium. But when you consider the much better sound and the better remote, it is worth the extra money. Strictly as a soundbar, there are def. better options in the $150-180 range but they don't have a streamer built in. But more important than the built-in Roku I'd say is the expandability. Being able to not only add the sub and up to 4 speakers, for anything from 2.0 to a full 5.1 system, but to do so incrementally at any point in time, is a really good benefit. I don't think there's anything else like it on the market, at least not in the price range. There are some bars that have an optional wireless sub, but never seen any that also can add a pair or two pairs of stereo speaker as well, all wirelessly. I got the Pro even though the smaller one would have been a better fit (small shelf it's on and the Pro overhangs on both sides) but def. glad I got it over the standard one. The sound is quite good for what it is and I got it much cheaper than retail so I'm pretty happy with it. My only complaint with this Roku stuff is for whatever reason they totally screw ppl in Canada lol. *Only* the standard Streambar (not the Pro) is sold, and they don't sell the sub or the speakers, either! Even if you're okay with going with the smaller bar, you can never make it sound better by getting the extra stuff locally/in-store. All the "good Roku stuff" you either have to go to the US to get, or pay high (not worth it) prices from 3rd party sellers on Amazon, etc. who ship or sell imports. To be honest it's a pretty good system for the $$ it's just puzzling they don't sell it north of the border.
Theyre bith under powered imho. Specially if youre room is bigger than 12x12 or 4.5mx4.5m. After all the individual speaker drivers are small 1.9 for the smaller one and 2.5 inch drivers for the pro. And the baffles are all plastic and foam so the bass can sound anemic when listening to high bass music and not warm on vocal oriented music.
Great informative video, thank you. One question, is there a dialogue mode available on either of those Roku sound bars? Nowadays It is very difficult to decipher the spoken word, which is one reason I have bought the Bose soundbar with much clearer spoken word When you press their dialogue button on remote. ( imo They overdo the background music nowadays and with sync sound the speech is just not very clear, It’s a struggle to catch every word)
I have the smaller Roku bar shown here and it's fantastic with dialog right out of the box. Noticeably. It is for something like a bedroom though. Used in a larger living room the sound was a bit too harsh. Perfect in the bedroom though.
Volume? Will the larger pro model hold up to higher volume than the smaller one? My smaller roku speakers are damaged from louder playing? I just need more volume, will the pro provide that?
I have a new roku TV and I have the subwoofer and then 2 of the surround sound speakers. I was thinking about getting the sound bar however it says it's a smart sound bar. My TV already has roku built into it. Does it make sense to get the sound bar? I definitely want sound coming from the middle and because I have the surround sounds speakers hooked up it does not come out of the tv.. if i buy the soundbar am I gonna have to redo the whole Roku setup or will I just be able to install the soundbar to the TV without having to hook up all the chords the same way I? Bluetooth the other. Speakers? They are all roku surround sound speakers by the same company
@@justadadtips One more question, I already have a Roku 4k Steaming Stick set up and registered, activated and currently working. I gave in and bought this soundbar from same exact place you did (amazon). Came looking perfect condition. However, when I hooked everything up and got to the part of setting up wifi. It would absolutely NOT connect to my internet. Troubleshooted for at least 2 hours to no avail. Could you elaborate of what possibly went wrong here?

I have the streambar and 2 wireless speakers up front. Thinking of swapping our the streambar for the pro. The wireless speakers sound great imo.
Good choice!

Will this streambar pro sound fine without the wireless speakers? Or is it definitely probably needed?

Nice tips buddy I'm thinking in ordering one myself
I still love the pro model!!!
After I hook this up will it work for Blu-ray ray or vhs or only Roku app
How would the little one do in a class B RV (van)?
Smaller pro unit is geared for voice. The longer unit will have more tonal range especially for lower tone bass tones
The modular approach is what I love the most. But they need to offer Dolby Atmos option and upgrade the option for dual subwoofers.
Do you think the soundbar is worth getting if I already have a Roku Ultra?
Theyre bith under powered imho. Specially if youre room is bigger than 12x12 or 4.5mx4.5m. After all the individual speaker drivers are small 1.9 for the smaller one and 2.5 inch drivers for the pro. Is the bass good enough on the soundbar without a subwoofer or do i need a subwoofer?
you need a sub, but the rokiu sub is kinda week

Yes to some degree, but its not like a high price sound system but it is louder than the Smaller roku stream bar.

If you have a Roku TV, and the soundbar, is it better to use the TV platform of Roku, or the platform inside the soundbar?
I found the Roku in the Stream bar works great and that is what I use, It just easier now I have just one remote.
With the streambar pro. Is it absolutely needed to get the surround sound speakers with it? Or does the soundbar work just as good alone?
it works just fine without

yes in everyway
I hate the mounts on the ROKU streambars..
Thanks for watching
What mount worked best for you? It would help a lot of us to know what you went with.
@@quattro4468 I mounted my tv with the Onn wall mount from Walmart
Streambar is unreliable and not supported by Roku.
Very poor product. Do Not Buy.
