- On this week’s episode of ‘Has It Aged Well?’ Abbas and Urjita are joined by “Radio ki Heroini”, Rohini Ramnathan. We’re discussing Subhash Ghai’s 1997 ode to India - Pardes. Topics discussed include: Our love for 90s cinema and music, our first memories of watching ‘Pardes’, was ‘Pardes’ Ghai’s response to DDLJ? Mahima Chaudhry’s radiant debut performance, Apurva Agnihotri’s take on the NRI, SRK’s sizzling on screen persona, how the ‘east vs west’ narrative stands almost 3 decades later, and much more.

Finally someone's here who is talking about the sound /music section of the movie ❤
I was thinking the same.
Nahi hona tha is a masterpiece. The pain the lyrics, composition and singers voice has is piercing. If you have ever loved, especially forbidden then you will dig this song. My favourite.
Halfway through this podcast, I paused. Went and watched the entire movie and have come back.
Every single time this happens! You guys doom us to watch these old hindi movies
Also #Nishachar!
Mission accomplished.
This was the perfect week to do Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani. Jawan + SRK + Politics
Rohini was such a good guest! More RJs please!
Great episode! What a difference, a knowledgeable and passionate guest like Rohini makes, to this show. This was a really fun and engaging discourse.
Thanks so much!
Love this show! Have watched (and subscribed from Canada!) almost every episode. Please analyse the movie Taal. Great candidate for the show 👍 Excellent music with an interesting moral conflict. Rohini was such a delight! 😁
P
This series: Has It Aged Well? is amazing. You deserve more views..
Rohini is a great, insightful guest, really liked this one!
Thanks! Really enjoyed talking about this film with these amazing peeps
This was fun, Urjita was full on
@rotalks Thank you for the fab insights.. helped my own trip down memory lane..oh the nostalgia!
I think urjita have seen all the reviews and revisits of the movie....only desi, Yogi baba, the quarter ticket show, etc...
I have watched Only Desi! But I haven’t lifted any jokes from his video, if that’s what you were implying🙈
@@urjitawani. Naah...i didn't mean that....I was trying to say ki kya movies vr revisits zale ahe tya vyatirikt movies select kra..bs...😊
Petition to have Rohini the permanent guest on this podcast.
Petition to have rohini have her own podcast about the music of this movies. Has this music aged well?
Pardesh was very different from all Subhash Ghai movies prior to it.. minimum or no action at all and lot of emotion, of course music is still classic and Nadeem - Sravaan's 1'st album post Gulshan Kumar 's shoot out..
I’m watching from Texas- I love your show, I look forward to watching every episode! So fun!
Didn’t see a mention of Himani Shivpuri! :/ but so happy to see you all singing the songs and jamming. Love ❤️
Hope to see veer zaara episode
I don't know how much agency does this movie has on it's name or theme. It has a nationlistic song lifted from a Japanese song about indian goddess.
Nice new studio setup. Congratulations
I have a question. Does anyone know who played the guitar for Do Dil Mil Rahe Hai?
Congratulations 🎉. You know you have made it when trolls infect the comment section. 😅
I really hoped rohini was a Podcaster 😢. Wish I could hear more at my own pace.
Luv her delivery n voice 🎉🎉
It wasn't America. It was vancouver Canada
sobbing because i really wanted to watch gupt 😢
My Alternate Ending: Post Credit Scene : Sharukh & Mahima have moved to the U.S. and SRK & Pawan Malhotra become Business partners of a successful Automobile Brand in the US. Sharukh and Mahima are scene romancing and living the high life in the U.S. while Dil Deewana plays in the background ❤
Love luffy toy in background... That's some pop-culture reference.
Galat nai GALAT KIYA he line was epic😝😝
Love Roh
Saw the movie first time after listening to this episode. oh what a fcuk all movie. It was not aged appropriately even in 90s.
Awesome episode. Keep up the good work guys.

Will we get a jawan podcast?
Yes, but that will be a 'Pop Wrap' episode. Snayhil, Antariksh and I have reviewed it. Releasing on Friday.
It should be a good movie in its own time first for it to have aged well??
Abbas's alternate ending🤣🤣🤣
You guys should really do away with these tiny plastic bottles for each guest, so many alternatives! I love your shows so much and everytime I see them i go 😖. Please guys .

But don't you guys think SRK has made a legit H'wood trope of 'White Saviour Complex' in Indian context?
How do you mean?
EXACTLY!!!!!
unbelieable part was diagnosed better in bha ja pod
Hello Abbas!! I am a Pakistani living in UAE. Please include me via video call when you discuss Veer Zaara!!
Please !!!! ☺️
Man falls in love with his Bhabi. Kya sanskari movie hai yaar.
Abhi bani nhi thi bhabhi vo😅
Shahrukh Khan
Alok Nath
Apoorva
Amrish Puri
Who is the 5th man?
@onlydesi please.... Ankit la bolva n🥲
@ivmpop @abbasmomin88 Sorry to say this, but Urjita is too immature to be on this show. She tries to be funny when a serious point is being discussed..annoying! This is a plea to replace her..
Finally someone said it... also her analytical points have no depth at all. Feels so odd when you have guests, who are well versed with the subject matter.
No. She adds good jokes and insights from this generation. That's the whole point. The duo works because of the age difference.
Boooooooooo
