This film is very memorable fr everyone I remember my elder bro talking about an incident of football game where the modern school won against father agnel school and the sports sir shouting at the agnel boys fr loosing against a normal school team I also reminds me of my brother who wud always b protective of me
31:25 that was not Hatim..Mamik was in a show called shhh..koi hai as Vikraal . After a few of the horror anthology episodes..they changed the format of the show and made it about a Ghostbuster 'Vikraal' who hunts ghosts and then he did a spin-off called Vikraal aur gabraal..Hatim's role was played by Rahil Azam. You folks do these kind of goof-ups in every episode.. thoda research kr lo bhai coz this podcast is like an archival also..jo actor/technicians ne kaam Kiya uska shi credit milna chahiye
Great episode and Mayank is a wonderful guest. Also, first time someone criticised Srk's films, otherwise if we go by internet MHN is considered goat 🤦♂🤦♂
And here i thought I'm only the biggest Fan of JJWS Yes every time i watch jo jeeta wahi sikandar i find new details and its the most perfect movie ever Created for me nothing come close to this masterpiece, Its just Perfect, its Complete package of love, romance, betrayal, Family, brotherhood, friends, innocence, responsibility above all 80s 90s Vibe
some suggestions for movies to cover: Peepli Live Delhi 6 Shanghai No one killed Jessica special 26 wake up sid khosla ka ghosla titli hazaaron khwahishen aisi Oye lucky lucky oye garam hawa a wednesday Rock On! Rocket Singh Fire Piku Aankhon Dekhi Swades Delhi Belly
Fun fact about Indiana University in Bloomington: it is Ranveer Singh’s _alma mater._ (He did his B.A. there, I think in communications or something.) Mayank is great, by the way. I really enjoy his sharp observations, and the interviews he does on midday India and such.
Totally agree with Urjita about the Ramlal’s Cafe sign. Mansoor and Aamir are nothing if not detail-oriented; I think they did it on purpose. Also, “Rooth Ke Humse Kahin” is one of the most beautiful songs about sibling bonds I’ve ever heard (granted, I haven’t heard that many such songs, but I still really love the song). I listened to it constantly a few years ago when my sister was in the hospital due to serious complications following her second childbirth (I’m happy to say she and my now 4-year-old mischievous nephew are doing great today).
it's my all time favourite movie too. 90s kid, for context. weirdly, I claim to be SRK's top fan, but my all time fave movies of all time are 3 Aamir movies haha
While the show was insightful, hearing Mayank's thoughts on sports movies would have been interesting. It would be great if Gaurav Kapoor could be brought on to discuss Lagaan and the impact of sports movies on sports personalities over the years.
3:20 I dunno-at least in the States, I don’t think many people would point to their tweens/early teens as being the best phase of their lives. Those are really awkward years for most people, at least here. Ages 10-15 or so were definitely among the worst of my life.
Urjita and Abbas , mere “India Pod Day 2023” ke comments ke liye maafi. This is the 5th episode I have listened. So moving in my ranking moving Dev D to 2nd position and 1st taken up by JJWS. Fascinating to know Milind Soman was considered earlier for the negative role. Also ironical that while the absence of an apostrophe on “Ramlal’s Cafe” could be ignored but the very fact that location references of Kodaikanal stadium, Baramulla and Syndey point at Panchgani could not be done away with😁
Good guest but i miss the og hosts riffing more, wish you guys didn’t take a backseat as much. There was loads more to talk about - from Pooja Bedi being treated almost like the vamp, the slew of early Aamir Khan films where he plays the lovable failure or loser you’re rooting for (Rangeela etc) the small town flavour, and small town romance. Personally i could go on for hours about Pehla Nasha - that song is ageless! Also, it became a thing in the 90s to say, Jo jeeta wohi Sikandar, jo hara wob bandar lol
Could you consider doing an episode with Neville Shah... ? Thought of him as was watching this since one of his favorites is also known to be JJWS... May be do Jagga Jasoos... ?
The hosts , especially Urjita, seem like amateurs in this episode because Mayank is such a pro as far as films go. Urjita's youth seemed very apparent especially in the conversation about the romance and feminism.
Consider this explanation: Aamir Khan is day-dreaming about his new attractive girlfriend. He probably has seen the Marilyn Monroe movie which has the scene where she poses with air blowing her skirt. So he imagines his girlfriend in that attractive pose. In the scene, when he tries to kiss her, she disappears, proving that it was indeed a dream. So the scene could just be Aamir's character's mind copying Marilyn's pose and projecting it on his GF than the director plagiarising it.
Finally found the Apsara award clip. Quite cringy man, I agree with Mayank, srk should have read the cue and backed off. ruclips.net/video/LgxId7kQo_o/видео.html
#abbasmomin who is this KG school girl and what she has done till now..... get some mature and interesting people on the show....she is so irritating and sounds very pathetic... And yes..... koi bhi chutya uth ke classic films ko criticise na kare... pehle dum rakhe us level ka kuch banaye phir baat kare to sahi lagta hai... is bachkani ko pehle hatao..!!
I cant believe that you guys didn't get Neville Shah for this movie.
JJWS op....Yes Neville Shah would have been a superb choice

Bawa op
My first thought as well
Mayank is a brilliant guest for future episodes as well! Insightful as always
Joh Jeeta is an emotion for us 90’s kids
That chant
Veer bahadur ladke kaun Rajput Rajput
It’s a stuff of gold
18:12 interestingly the arm outstretched move came to full circle with Shah Rukh Khan cameo scene in Lal Singh Chadda
Jo Jeeta has aged beautifully and still as much relevant and holds, as it was when it released.
Unpopular (but technical ) opinion: Sanju won because of VILAYATI cycle of ₹15,000 (1990) which in today's adjusted inflation is ₹5,05,815
Didn’t Sanju use the old cycle, as Ratan is shown fixing the old cycle before the race for Sanju!
@@prathameshb539 no he uses the new cycle. Ratan says nayi cycle tayyar kar raha hun

This was sooo fun to watch. Mayank was on fire 🔥 loved it !!

33:00 totally agree.. This is such a socially relevant show.
I went back n hav watched so many movies. Just bcoz memories were refreshed
Bang on point about the mistakes in the cafe menus. Just three days back we were eating at a restaurant, and Chutney was written without "n" there.
What a fun episode. Reliving the good old days. The trivia is so interesting. Mayank is definitely super in this one. 😊

Just the passion with which Mayank spoke about JJWS 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

Please Discuss Masaan, Omkara, The Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump and Rang De Basanti
Actually Shahrukh did the arms stretched thing even in Deewana that too came out in 92

Hbo content will come to jio cinema i guess.. probably after the IPL with new subscription plans
Haatim was Rahil Azam not Marmik 31:28
Pls include Lyricist also while discussing music. I was 🤯 to find lyricist was Majrooh Sultanpuri.
I disagree with this notion that everyones favourite movie is that movie which they have watched and like as a child...

Neville Shah had to be on this one, JJWS squad guys!
WHY TF ISNT NEVILLE SHAH INVITED FOR JJWS WHERE IS BAWA
Totally agree!!
Missed opportunity to invite bawa #JJWS
With Mayank you can discuss any film but JJWS should've been with Bawa. He is obsessed with this film. You missed a trick here.
Talking about plagiarism u didn't mention the Marilyn Monroe shot redone with Pooja bedi by farah khan in Pehla nasha song.
Consider this explanation: Aamir Khan is day-dreaming about his new attractive girlfriend. He probably has seen the Marilyn Monroe movie which has the scene where she poses with air blowing her skirt. So he imagines his girlfriend in that attractive pose. big revelation : 'anil kapoor rigged filmfare award"
Why the hell he won for Beta Aamir was too good
Where is Urjita’s standup video ?

This girl knows nothing about South films. Phase? Really.
The girl should only laugh if she feels like...or she should take acting classes on how to laugh genuinely
Har cheez main feminist agenda ghusana zaroori hai ? The amt of male bashing at IVM is astonishing! Just talk about the movie on its merit !
