    Thanks for sharing this. I was completely unaware. It's one of the reason why I liked Notion, but I'm very happy to see this feature now available in EN.

      You're very welcome! However most of it is not new. Evernote 10 organized them on a side panel, but many of these shortcuts exist for years 😉

    For years I suggested Evernote add markdown, am I glad it's finally there.
    Not sure when they added it, probably around the time other changes made me switch to Obsidian for my main note-taking. I still keep Evernote around though, so useful to know.

      Hi Paul, it's been there for a long time. They did it years ago, but I don't remember them promoting it. That said, Evernote 10 improved it a little. If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't possible to create links in the past. And pre-10 version didn't have headers, so that's also new.

      @@vladcampos I guess I missed it for years. I've got an Evernote note of a Markdown cheatsheet (un-formatted) from 2018, so it had to be after that. Now that I know I'll use it, but now I'm going to want full markdown support found elsewhere (blockquotes, syntax coloring in code blocks...).

    These auto-formatting key combos do save lots of time. I've been using them lots since I discovered them several weeks ago.
    Code block: For creating a code block, space does work for me. It's interesting that it doesn't work for you. I'm using a Mac with Evernote 10.33.4.
    List of all key combos: I don't have a keyboard icon. Perhaps there is some configuration option that I don't have enabled. I can access the list via Help → Keyboard Shortcuts

      Hi Gene, the keyboard is there for a long time. And to be honest, I'm not aware of a way to hide or remove it from the sidebar. It doesn't exist on the web version, though.

    Thanks for the video. Personally I prefer to use the bar instead of remembering the code.

      I understand shortcuts are not for everybody. I try my best not to move my hands of the keyboard when I'm typing, but it took me a lot of practice to learn to prioritize shortcuts. And I still need some time to get use to new ones.

    When did Evernote start to support Markdown? This is awesome!

      A long, long time ago. It's been getting more formatting tags since Evernote 10, but it's a pretty old feature.

      @@vladcampos Cheers Vlad. I did not know that. This is a game-changer for me. I might return to Evernote after leaving the platform last year (2021).
      Can you please address the issue of privacy & E2EE? No matter what Evernote puts out, I still struggle to trust them with my personal notes & thoughts.

      What do you mean by privacy & E2EE? Evernote has E2EE. You can find detailed information on the link below.

    Any way for highlights or text e.g, bold, size etc?

    • @vladcampos
      @vladcampos  Год назад

      There are no classic Markdown-like commands for highlights, bold etc., but you don't have to first select the word or phrase and then use Ctrl+B / cmd+B.
      You can use any of the formatting keyboard shortcuts before you start the word, like you would when using Markdown. Then, when you are done with the formatting, type the keyboard shortcut again.
      Ctrl+B word or phrase Ctrl+B

    Is it possible to change words from lower to upper case and vice versa .if yes how

    • @vladcampos
      @vladcampos  10 месяцев назад

      Not that I'm aware of. If I had to do it, I would do it in Google Docs, copying and pasting the text.
