This is not hyperbole...When they played this in Akron in '16 there wasn't a dry eye in the theater. A whole room full of black shirts & metal heads with tears streaming down their faces...one of the most powerful moments I've ever witnessed at a concert.
I used to spend every Sunday for over a year with a good friend who was passing from cancer at 33. This was one of the songs on his playlist. I can’t listen to this song without crying, it’s a beautiful song.
Fun fact: This song was used in the intro for the game Transformers: Fall of Cybertron…… It plays so perfectly to the video I thought it was an original until I heard it from Puscifer much later
SAME BRO!!! I Remember Way Back I would Just Sit Idle in the Menu just to see the Video over and over again for the song 😭😭😭 I Was Mind Blown finding it on RUclips
I’ve been listening to them since they started and well they are wonderful. Tool was the first band I listened to and then a perfect circle, then puscifer. Maynard is just truly a genius. I mean I have no words on how to describe him. He’s just amazing as is everyone in these bands creating music with him. They are even great in concert. If you can go see any one of these bands with Maynard.
This is Maynard’s Kumbaya moment, lol. And I love it. I remember waiting for a new Tool album after Aenima and thinking, “this guy can really sing and possibly has some softer shit in the works”. Next thing you know APC comes out cause he’s bored of waiting on the Tool geniuses. I felt kinda validated back then. Then the next year they proceeded to melt everyone’s face off with Lateralus. Maynard makes me want to go to work on my day off just so I don’t look lazy✌️
It's totally normal for your dog doing that. She,right? Is just as stressed as you are moving to a new place. They also pick up on our emotions. Don't scold, but show empathy and say you're okay, then take her outside. Once she realizes you're understanding her, it will change, I promise you. I rescue dogs from horrific situations, and what has always helped is letting them know, "It's okay." 5 years ago, I adopted a Staffy Pity , she only weighed 96 pounds and so traumatized! Her weight now is 110. She still stays wherever I am (anxiety), but other than that, she still doesn't let me trim her nails. She has never used the bathroom in the house, but once . It was the first week with me, and it was around 3 a.m. she woke me up whimpering. When I turned the lights on, she was shaking and cowardly, so I sat down beside her and told her it was okay on repeat until she came over to me and laid her head on my lap. Then I said, "Let's go "out, " emphasizing out. It's never happened again. She's laying beside me now. You got this Polo. If it upsets you try and calm yourself before talking with your dog 🐕. Let me know if she's okay now. Respect
Maynard is a poetic SOB and I mean that in the best way possible. His words and the instruments used in perfect harmony is something truly amazing/special. This song spoke to me in spiritual way not to sound cheesy.. Anyways it's great to see your reaction to it and hearing your thoughts about it. Hope/pray that all is well with you and your family everyone here. 🙏🙏🍻
Possibly the most famous track off of the seventh project by Maynard James Keenan’s creative playground Puscifer, “The Humbling River” is a ballad that laments failure, portraying the tumultuous road to stardom as a battle. The track’s narrator depicts his own journey, telling us of all of the difficult things he’s accomplished, yet fallen short of at the last moment-all in the first two verses. Nature, nurture heaven and home Sum of all, and by them, driven To conquer every mountain shown But I've never crossed the river Braved the forests, braved the stone Braved the icy winds and fire Braved and beat them on my own Yet I'm helpless by the river Angel, angel, what have I done? I've faced the quakes, the wind, the fire I've conquered country, crown, and throne Why can't I cross this river? Angel, angel, what have I done? I've faced the quakes, the wind, the fire I've conquered country, crown, and throne Why can't I cross this river? Pay no mind to the battles you've won It'll take a lot more than rage and muscle Open your heart and hands, my son Or you'll never make it over the river It'll take a lot more than words and guns A whole lot more than riches and muscle The hands of the many must join as one And together we'll cross the river It'll take a lot more than words and guns A whole lot more than riches and muscle The hands of the many must join as one And together we'll cross the river Nature, nurture heaven and home It'll take a lot more than words and guns Sum of all, and by them, driven A whole lot more than riches and muscle To conquer every mountain shown The hands of the many must join as one And together we'll cross the river Braved the forests, braved the stone It'll take a lot more than words and guns Braved the icy winds and fire A whole lot more than riches and muscle Braved and beat them on my own The hands of the many must join as one And together we'll cross the river And together we'll cross the river And together we'll cross the river Nature, nurture heaven and home And together we'll cross the river And together we'll cross the river Nature, nurture heaven and home And together we'll cross the river And together we'll cross the river
I instantly connected to this song. Humans can only progress if we realize that we are part of this earth and embrace the gift of being alive here and now together.
This song is so soothing. Puscifer is absolutely fantastic. Don't sleep on them. I hope I can be a winemaker for Caduceus Cellars one day. Edit; listen to Momma Sed, please.
I love that! somebody give him the links of the three versions ....there's another reactor that did all three versions in one video. Crazy sick to see the progression of one song, kind of like what tool did with push it
I suggest the songs Galileo, Tiny Monsters, Life of Brian (Apparently You Haven’t Seen), Autumn, Undertaker and Undertaker V is for Versatile version. Many more but I’ll stop there.
Our huskies sleep in our bedroom. Their hearing is so fine (like most dogs) that they hear everything throughout the house. I have stepped in warm dog vomit before, and it is so awful. It's been ages, but I can still recall the physical feeling.
Pretty cool song, takes me back to HS, when my mind was opened to new music, as I met people from around the country and around the world and we all learned to find our common humanity.
Polo, I'm sorry to hear that the move has been stressing you. Moving sucks! I hope that everything goes smoothly, and you get yourself and doggo settled in soon. Another great Puscifer song: Horizons, Man Overboard, Oceans, or Tiny Monsters. Take good care!
Also, when it comes to Puscifer, don't sleep on the remixes! I know a lot of reactors want to hear the original versions first, but many of their remixes are better than the originals, and some of them give you a better idea of MJK's sense of humor. I recommend 'The Mission-M is for Milla Mix', 'Sour Grapes-Legends of the Mix', 'Rev 22:20-Don't Shoot the Messenger Version', 'Drunk with Power-Hungover and Hostile in Hangover Mix', 'Sour Grapes-Where's the Line? Mix', 'Cuntry Boner-Disco Viagra Mix' and 'Balls to the Wall-Pillow Fight Mix'.
I like how as the song progresses you hear more and more artists joining in the singing. Adds to the message of needing to band together to cross that river.
Wow! Polo man, that was awesome, so subtle yet powerful! Welcome to the Church of MJK! The Holy Trinity of Tool, APC, and Puscifer! You’re “I’ve been baptized “ comment reminded me that to a lot of us , music is our religion!
Polo should just do an entire album of tool chronologically, or throw some back to back songs. That way you get to feel its entirety. Just saying ❤still grateful to whichever you take the time to make
I don’t seem to see anyone suggesting Polar Bear by Puscifer. It’s the first song I ever heard by Puscifer after being a long, long time fan of Tool & APC and I instantly fell in love. It might not be their best, but it’s def fire and well worth your time. ❤
Definitely check out Puscifer’s live studio albums that were released not too long ago. Parole Violator and V is for Versatile. Any of the songs are so good!
Back when COVID was starting to spread, I was hospitalized for some emergency surgery. Was pretty rough as the COVID patients started pouring in. After a week I went home, and the very first song that played from my music app was a Puscifer song called apocalyptical. Creeped me right out. GIve it a whirl
So I was camping with friends on the Verde River in Az aka the Humbling River …when we all awoke to the sound of a lil’ dog yakking out of the calmest and darkest night I’ve spent in a tent… my friend and I simultaneously spouted out from the stuper of our slumber to our other friend “ I think your dog threw up” to which he reply’s “yeah and it was in my hand “ 😂 “and it’s worse that waking up to someone dipping your hand in warm water” & the cosmic circle is complete😊
I really would like you to get to A Perfect Circle, Passive. The song has a personal joy for myself, as it worked its way into my mind -- creating an entire novel. But I would like to hear what you get out of it.
I love you, man. I've said it before. I'll say it again later, no doubt. You're one superb fucking human being. Watching these things with you makes me feel wonderful. Not trying to be weird. Just saying. Thank you.
As soon as I first heard this song, my imagination lit up with images of an event from Bionicle's lore, the Core War, even though it was never used from that particular franchise. Scenes of giant battles, sieges of fortresses, Glatorian and Agori slaughtering each other by the hundreds. It's basically an entire mental 'music video', and goddamn... does it make me pine for a big-budget Bionicle anime...
ALSO!! If u wanna hear the first stuff Maynard did as "Puscifer" check out the song Potions and then his first real single called Queen B. Queen B is a bad ass Vibe bro. Maynard calls this project his ego and comedian side letting loose.
Somewhere out there is a version of this song by Tool. The video was simply titled New Tool and the year (I forget). It's this song, slowed way down. It's the prettiest music I've ever heard. I've only heard it twice tho, cos my fone broke, and I can't find it anywhere now. If you know it, plz comment the link for me. Ty
This whole album is beautiful. I went to see them in May & there were Bible thumping protestors outside of it. They clearly haven't listened to any of the music to really know what they're all about.
You should take a trip to Jerome AZ. Visit the puscifer store and drink some of Maynard’s wine. It’s a great time and it’s beautiful country. You can see the inspiration for a lot of puscifer music. The song Grand Canyon is a great example.
I don't see You @POLO REACTS reacting to PUSCIFER - TELLING GHOSTS It's the jam, it's 100% It makes Me feel like in New Orleans late at night, near the river. It's maybe my jam for Puscifer

I say "shit!" hehehe purely visceral reaction to initial question on doggy doo doo
Mama Sed is the best Puscifer song. They never play it the same way twice!!!
This is not hyperbole...When they played this in Akron in '16 there wasn't a dry eye in the theater. A whole room full of black shirts & metal heads with tears streaming down their faces...one of the most powerful moments I've ever witnessed at a concert.
I think this song was in season 1 of Yellowstone.
I can imagine that. It's just a hard hitting song spiritually for me and the lyrics are amazing.

You still have some solid options for Puscifer! I'd love to hear Potions, the Mission (M for Mila mix) or Grand Canyon if you haven't done those yet 😊
My favorite Puscifer song ❤ I agree with that idea of "simple & powerful" simultaneously. It still gives me chills.
Jesus’s message was simple❤️
Such a beautiful and haunting song that makes me emotional. Glad you loved it.
Maynards son Devo sings on the track too. He's the 3rd voice.
❤I've been waiting for this one❤
THE HANDS OF THE MANY MUST JOIN AS ONE, TOGETHER WE'L CROSS THE RIVER✌💕
It's a message we should all take to heart.
This is by far my favorite Puscifer song. I'm glad you finally got to this gem!
