Maynard James Keenan is a legend! He has amazing songs with all three of his bands!
Discovered Puscifer over the pandemic. I fell in love with this song in particular. Maynard cannot fail it seems.
The name Puscifer was meant as an inside joke that their mascot was the devil if he was female. Their first EP “V is for Vagina” had the carton she devil and was their original logo. The name stuck with the band as they released more albums. The song is about Maynard when he first started his vineyard out in Arizona. It’s his song of triumph for overcoming needing enough water to feed his fields. The closest water source is the Verde River near his farm in Jerome. He has said in interviews the challenge to direct the water to his fields was one of the biggest challenges he has handled. That’s why he calls it the “Humbling River”. It’s a great song about over coming the struggles of life.

I had the pleasure of seeing Pucifer in Dublin Ireland in 2023 and I cried when they sang this. Carina Round has an amazing voice that compliments Maynards perfectly. This song is beautiful. They have so much more. Momma sed is another and The Remedy. Great reaction as always guys. Big love from Ireland 🇮🇪 x

Love this song, in my top 3 faves of Puscifer songs. His voice is so pure and haunting and the instruments back up that whole atmosphere of our souls’ striving to cross into peace and wholeness beautifully. In mythology there are several famous rivers associated with the soul crossing over after death, such as the River Styx, and there’s the river of Lethe or forgetfulness, where souls forget the identities they had in life once they cross over. I interpret it personally as my own soul trying to drop all the baggage of wrongs and mistakes I’ve made in my life and how in order to advance myself I have to realize no one makes it through life or death alone and we all must help each other cross to a better higher stage of being.

Great Reaction! The song speaks to me that we all need a community. We conquer problems in out lives (climb a mountain) as individuals, but some problems can not be resolved on our own. We all need a community that we can link hands to cross the river of life. I would love to see some more Tool reactions!🌀

Puscifer, pronounced 'Puss-uh-fer', has an incredibly diverse discography, it's absolutely full of masterful compositions! The female vocalist is Carina Round, another beautiful part of their band. Maynard and Carina were made to sing together!
Love love love this song, he sings a lot about the Verde River he has a home close to it, I live on the other side of the mountain from it, about 40 minutes😊

The River is a Metaphor for any hurdle or obstacle in your life, some people have obstacles and hurdles they never overcome.....Maynard James is the greatest lyricist of all time

Puscifer's sound somewhat evolves but it developed into something special. Listen to "Tumbleweed" and "Galileo"
First time I heard Puscifer was on Yellowstone.
I highly recommend Personal Prometheus. It's exceptionally beautiful (and profound).
Or with you and your wife you can cross the river. This is actually one of my favorite Puscifer songs. I recommend you listen to Ween their song The Argus is a great one to start with.

I'm going to see them for Maynards 60th birthday celebration tour featuring Pucifer, A Perfect Circle, and Primus. They're all going to be on the stage at the same time. It's going to be awesome. This band will surprise you more than his other two bands. They will toss a curveball your way in some songs. Country Boner is one that’s just a funny song not a serious song. Bullet Train To Iowa is transcending.
