These are some good ideas for back country meals-I like the small packet condiments that are one-time use and then there's no waste or spoilage (everyone has a bunch of that somewhere from take out meals). Also, the flatbread like tortillas are easy to pack and don't mind being squished a bit, and still provide good nutrition. I like the food barrel too. It floats too if not too heavy and it keeps things organized. Plus a barrel will reduce food smells that could attract unwelcome wildlife, like bears. Speaking of which, we had a big black bear right on our back porch at 8:30 pm yesterday. He grabbed an empty recycling container and went up into the woods with it. I yelled and banged on the window but he showed no fear-garbage bears can be dangerous and you don't want one in a campsite ( I later reported it to conservation officers because a bear that shows no fear and is habituated to human garbage-or empty cans with a food odor in this case, can be a danger to people). All the best, Marc. Safe paddling out there and Bon appetit.

I rarely don't keep my food in a container of some kind safe from critters, and away from camp! We have bear problems as well at the house. We have 2 in the neighbourhood right now. I keep the garbage cans in the garage or they will drag it away. If enough people complain the MNR will eventually drop cages to trap them and haul them away. They have no fear, even when dogs bark at them they just waddle away slowly.
      Thanks Craig✌️

Great ideas man! Wife always asks why I keep so many of the single serve condiments and soy sauce and things like that haha but they are handy for things like this. I hate buying big bottles of everything for camping. Have a great day!

Agreed! Its to much and to heavy to lug around all these assorted condiments! I even keep the butter packets in the freezer until I have use for them going out👍
      take care Wade✌️

Great ideas. When I stared in the outdoors all them option weren't available so we made some salt pork for meat and eggs. Salt pork in the stores looks like salt fat so I always made my own. Have you ever made your own salt pork ? or eaten it. Might be a good idea for a vid . Cheers Marc 👍

Yes my wife keeps some store bought in the house most of the time. I don't use it much but yes that would make for a good video. Especially come this fall when I do stews for meals👍
      Thanks and take care Steve🍻
