I worked on The Golden Girls and although I did not know Betty White we did interact on occasion. I can't help but think she would say to each person who bought something, "I loved this piece, now you enjoy it dear." That was Betty White to me. Always.
Thanks for covering this! They also did a live stream. Some items are going to museums. There's a museum in upstate NY getting lots of her items. It was announced on her Instagram recently. Betty probably wanted it this way. I am sure this was all written in her will. No need to be upset about it! I'm betting all the money raised will go to her favorite charities. I believe the money for these auctions is mostly raised online and on the phone.
P.S. The good news is, ..as Betty was such an advocate for animals, I'm sure most of the money raised will be used as she wished for! ❤️ Let's hope it doesn't get fleeced! 🙀🙈🐯🐭🦓🐷🦎🦊🦮🐒🦨
@@melanieortiz712 I've in Senior housing. You are correct. When someone passes away, family and friends come clean out the apartment and often just toss everything in the dumpster!
A lot of people are saying how sad this is, it is sad. But it’s not her family just trying to make a buck. I believe she set this up herself and the proceeds go back to her estate and eventually to the charities of her choice. I think it’s a great idea that she allowed some of her biggest fans to own something of hers to Cherish while making money for her chosen causes ❤
The door sold for $10,000 Auction is still live thru the 25th Im thinking she wanted everything sold to benefit her charities ❤ Thank you Mike Anyone buying anything will cherish it ( I wish you could get something )

Thank you for this. It is a true and naked commentary on life and the ultimate value of our things that we hold to be so precious. This reminds me that we are merely the caretakers. We own nothing. Your videos are a gift to my life.
It feels kinda sad doesn't it? I've always wanted to see inside of an auction like that so thank you for this video. I'd love to buy the Lilian Gish book myself. You come up with the best ideas for videos. Have a great weekend 😊
Maybe a lot of people participated online. We bid online for a Michael Jackson signed guitar while we were in Hawaii one year, and later picked it up from Juliien's Auctions a couple of days later after we arrived in LA. We still have the book from the Michael Jackson auction. What really struck me was how small The Jacksons outfits were. Looking at all the personal stuff was very sereal. It was an experience. The actual auction took place while we were midway in the air between Hawaii and LA, so we did not find out about winning the bid on the guitar until we had landed.
Thanks for the tour. I was just saying yesterday that it was sad that her friends and family didn't want her stuff. But the proceeds are supposed to go to her favorite animal welfare groups, so that's a good thing. I was surprised, however, that they were selling her furniture too!!
You have to pre-register for these auctions and your bank account has to be verified ahead of time, and it must hold a specific minimum balance, as well as many other forms of verification. 3 forms of I.D., credit/debit cards, etc. It's a process.
I’m an online reseller and source most of my inventory from estate sales/auctions. For a lot of us, it’s about saving precious & historic things from the trash heap and uniting them with collectors who appreciate them. I’m sure Ms. White authorized the disposal of her property and probably arranged for the funds to benefit animal charities that she loved and supported during her life.
I loved her, like my own Grandmother and Great-Grandmothers, whom I was raised by. All were kind, strong, beautiful, funny, interesting and intelligent women. Thanks Mike-always look 4ward to your wonderful videos!! Your friend, Dee from 🇨🇦
I met Betty White about 30 yrs ago I bought her book she was at the local mall had her sign the book I wore a SPCA tshirt she said to me Great shirt I said thank you I wore to honor you Ms White she smiled and said awww thank you.
This was touching. Thanks for taking us with you. Did you ever register and bid on a script? If not, one of the script stores in Hollywood probably has some or maybe bought these.
Thank you GIV so much I was just reading about this today then to come on and actually see it through you is so awesome...I love Betty white she was such a beautiful person and like you said it is just SO sad to see everything she owned up for sale...☹ but thank you again...🙏💕
I've watched a lot of podcasts about abandoned houses and mansions, and the one thing that they most all have in common is what it left behind and it's kind of heart breaking. When you see a house with it's furniture still in it, the dishes still in the cupboard and rotting away, because the person is the last one alive in their family and there is no one to give it to. All the family photos still there, for generations of family photos and all left to rot. I don't know if Betty had family still a live, but I am glad to see her things going to somebody that will treasure it and it won't sit and rot away.
I’m so happy you posted this! My ex and I purchased 5811 Round Meadow Road 91302 from another gorgeous golden girl, Rue McClanahan. Love to you and keep it up! ❤️🇬🇧
Such a wonderful woman she truly made a lot of people happy through her talent throughout the years and it was a sad day when she passed and I truly do miss her but it was so nice of you GIV to go to the auction to show so many things once own by Betty White herself and what I saw was truly amazing so thanks again for a wonderful experience now with that being said peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you GIV and I’ll see you in the next vlog wherever it takes you peace ☮️ out ✌️
Betty White's Estate is estimated at 75 Million Dollars and did not have any biological children of her own, and her husband Allen Ludden passed away in 1981. Though she did have three step-children from her marriage to Ludden, White does not have any legal heirs to inherit her legacy. The details of White’s estate remain a mystery, though it is suspected that she left a large portion of her estate to the many animal charities she advocated for throughout her life. I think it would be very fitting for such a Lovable Soul to give her Wealth to these charities. I also think Its kind of sad she never had children of her own.
Thank you for filming and sharing. Yes, it is sad to see all of her collections all auctioned off in a snap. But I am sure she had it this way in her estate planning. Still sad. I heard so many positive things about her in how professional, respectful and enjoyable she was to work with as an actress, as well as with her animal work and other interests. I wonder if some of these items were also form her home in Carmel, California. I hope you were able to purchase one of the scripts you wanted. Thank you again.
Love your videos so much!! it's been a dream of mine to see Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier and of course Hollywood forever and you and your videos allow me to experience all of those places and more. Thank you!! keep up the fantastic work.. subscriber from Michigan🥰
It’s sad to see, I still watch Golden Girls because of her, I read not long ago they already sold her “bigger” and more valuable things back in June and made a lot of money. Her having no children and the love of animals, I’m sure the money will go back to what she loved the most, Animals……. Loved the video ☺️
Sad to see them auctioning off her things, she was a great lady! My grandma and I watched her in the golden girls when I was a kid. Love the video Mike.
She didn't have any bio children, she had step kids from her husband Allen Ludden who died in 81. The funds will probably go to her favorite animal charities
You know.....I thought I'd read Alan had children from his prior marriage, but you're right----Betty never spoke about or was in public with Ludden's kids that I can dver recall.
I think Betty would be happy knowing so many people can enjoy being a part of her life. My stuff will end up in a dumpster!😆I'm sorry that her work and contributions to the animal world has ended. We need more advocates like Betty White, Doris Day, Bob Barker. These people championed animals. They're all gone now. I just hope more famous people take up where they left off.

Hi. This is so sad. 😢 She was a lovely person. It would be nice if some pieces ended up in the Smithsonian. Hopefully people keep the items they bought & don’t try to resell to make a profit.
I think Betty White would be very glad to know how happy her things are making people from all over the world (who were probably bidding online.) I imagine she would say that they were just things to her. It was interesting to see how many animal items were in the auction since we know that she was a huge animal lover. The auction will continue to benefit the animals she loved so much.

She most likely left her estate to donate to animal shelters. This was probably in her will, to do this auction.
She was very smart to sell all her things while much of her fan base is still alive.
