NFL fans are some of the dumbest people. At least half of us are. I’m never surprised guys say stupid crap like that so I just ignore them.
This dude wasn't on my radar until a random NFL Network segment where they had him on prior to the draft and he had to a throwing challenge. When I saw the accuracy and power of his arm and how competitive he was, I immediately had a feeling he was a guy to look out for. Definitely didn't see him dominating the league so early but he fell into the right situation with a mature vet in Alex Smith to hold down the fort in his rookie season and arguably the best offensive coach in today's game in Andy Reid and a roster stocked in offensive talent. His arm talent has the chance to truly shine.
Great attitude, genuine, hard worker. Traveled to Arrowhead this season to see him play in person. Inspiring.

He's probably the most talented QB to ever play football and he landed in an almost perfect circumstance: a good team with weapons, HOF offensive mind, unique and brilliant Pro Bowl QB who was willing to show him the ropes in Alex Smith.
I'm a huge Chiefs fan and have been my entire life, but even I can appreciate the Chiefs and Mahomes don't have the success they've had without both of those elements. It's not one thing, it's everything. A perfect set of circumstances and timing, a result of hard work, talent, and good fortune.
That’s a little rich bro. Pretty sure Tom Brady is the most talented player to ever play QB. By a long shot . Once Mahomes gets passed Brady’s 7 Super Bowl rings, then you can start the crazy talk. Mahomes is a beast. And there is every possibility that he can go beyond Brady. But let’s see how the next 20 years plays out…if he plays that long.
@@Wargasm644 Brady is not "talented" by my definition. He can't run fast, he's never had the greatest arm. Everything he's gotten he's earned through toughness, determination, and wit and that's what makes him special and makes him a great story. Even if you're not the most athletic person you can look at Tom Brady and say, "If he can do it so can I".
It all depends on how you define "talent". Talent is about inherent athleticism and arm strength/touch, it's defined as "natural aptitude or skill". Talent alone does not equate to individual or team success, and frankly has is completely unrelated to either one. JaMarcus Russell was WAY more talented than Tom Brady, but he was an idiot and therefore a bad QB.
@@CharlieRogers50 One can argue that through his “toughness, determination and wit” Tom has forged his assets into pure “ Talent”. Is or was it “raw talent” or something he was born with? Probably not. But the statistics don’t lie, and can’t be discounted on any level. Mahomes is definitely a natural when it comes to athleticism. No doubt. It’s almost freakish. He’s a “natural”. But Tom had used his ability to become the best to ever play the game. I’m not the biggest Brady fan. But he’s undeniable no matter how you approach it. My Dad was born in KC, so my family’s allegiance lies with Mahomes and the Chiefs . Mahomes is just fascinating to watch. A real athlete of the highest caliber. But you could also argue that what Tom has accomplished is even more extraordinary as he had to work at it harder. I understand your point. It’s just a matter of perspective.

One small add on. The first start against Denver was the Chiefs backups vs the Broncos 1st teamers. The Chiefs rested almost all the starters.

That divisional round matchup vs the Texans was the game that introduced who Patrick Mahomes Really is "the Houdini of the NFL" when they were trailing 24 zip I thought that it was all over, but then I looked at previous games and I thought this isn't over yet when you have a QB like Patrick, it would be the most heartbreaking loss that the Texans will ever have.

Even in that super bowl loss mahomes was the best player on the field. His receivers dropped so many balls and his line couldn’t hold up, and he still had a respectable showing. All the while Tom Brady relied on his defense and made everything look easy

Mahomes is such a great player that I know, but one thing I really think whats holding him back during the important moment is that he is trying to make that one pass possible and holding on the ball too long... it makes miracle but also makes the fall very hard. Mahomes wasn't drafted to back up Smith, he was meant to take the helm. They intended on Mahomes taking a year to learn under Smith, and no one was surprised when we traded Smith. Alex brought us out of the dungeon, made us a perennial playoff contender, and he helped to set our dominance over the west into motion. Mahomes is a tank of NOS injected into all of that!

That Super Bowl against Tampa was unfortunate. Half their starting o-line got sick, and it showed. It also just felt like the receivers were off that day as well. The passes they dropped were on the dime. Not to take away anything from Tampa, they made it there as well so they deserve it.
