I have a WK-200. I am pleased with its tines emulations ( Fender-Rhodes ) and its reed emulations ( Wurlitzer ). However, I still think that Yamaha has superior acoustic pianos. The two are evenly matched when it comes to FM EPs
Has been watching reviews of many and found your reviews are the best .I have used Casio ctx700 and now using Psr e463 ,would not compare the keyboards but I like the sound of Yamaha psr e463 is at another level ....From India with love ....❤️

Of course it is. Casio always wins against Yamaha in the IDR 4-5m ($300-350) range. Remember the CTK-7000 from 2010? That's the time when Casio starts getting serious and takes over the competition.
Despite of the live volume controls of Yamaha, I think I will go with Casio because how impress of the sound it provides, and also I have been using Casio keyboards for a long time. Thank you Jeremy for doing my request. Nice video as always!!
I feel as far as pianos, electric pianos, synths, etc., are concerned, Yamaha wins the battle but as far as organ sounds and guitar sounds are concerned, Casio wins.
Very Informative video💖 and I think that both keyboards are amazing in their own way so it's just a matter of knowing what feature is going to be useful and that depends on the needs of the user.
My family used to own a Casio keyboard way back when I was younger and I remember really enjoying playing on it. It's been at least 15 years since I've touched a piano/keyboard and I have been wanting to play again. So, I have been watching keyboard reviews on RUclips, trying to find one that's just right for me. I found your channel recently and I find your reviews/comparisons extremely helpful. Thanks! A new subscriber here.
Interesting. Unexpectedly (for me) the Yamaha Grand piano was inferior to the Casio (I usually find I prefer Yamaha, but not here). The organ comparison didn't really show much as the Casio had a Tremolo/vibrato active, whereas the Yamaha didn't. Yamaha Sax definitely better, the Casio one was terrible; acoustic guitar, differences more narrow so hard to choose. Yamaha win in the actual quality of the rhythm arrangements but peripheral features to the rhythm patches had plus and minus aspects that, for me, negated the differences in these capabilities. Verdict: if. for me, I was limited in budget to choose between these two; if I was primarily interested in piano sound (although it's more than just the sound that matters), I'd pick the Casio, but if my purpose was for more widespread arranger qualities, it would be the Yamaha.
I agree with that sir.. Casio stage piano sound are way better than yamaha...electronic piano sounds are also in Casio.. However, the rhythm, beats the sweet saxophone are in yamaha.. Yamaha rhythms are groovy and i loved it..
Yamaha's piano does sound compressed. Casio's sounds more wooden in a dry timber sort of way. Yamaha's improves quickly with some ctrl knob tweaking. Casio requires about 5 or 10 minutes of menu diving.
Casio piano sounds are bad ass compared to Yamaha. That galaxy was ok on the Casio. And the organs on Casio just blows away. That Yamaha sounds like DGX a lot. Casio tho sounds like a new sound generator is in it
I can hear what you're saying Jeremy. Surprised ... I like the Casio Grand Piano a tad better. I'm not sure enough I prefer it enough to go with the Casio (plus I have a Kurzweil piano module I love to cover those sounds). I love the CDP-S350, but it's got to be even more difficult to navigate than the CT-X3000, which is cryptic enough, and it's for my 13 yr old boy to use too ... I think the PSR-E463 might be a better fit given user friendliness. I wish there was an affordable semi-weighted PSR-E463.
Keep going on. I appreciate your Videos they helped me to make a decision to buy Yamaha PSR EW310 and in meanwhile I am just waiting for it to come. Thanks for your enjoyable Videos again. Greetings from Germany.
They are both equally good with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 things that would separate them. I think that keyboards that have that large piano feel as far as the keys themselves are best. But then that goes with the budget of buying a keyboard.
I'm a church choirmaster and instrumentalist. I'm stuck between the two keyboard. Can't decide which is which. Thankfully, I found this video. More power Jeremy!
thanks dude, kid played piano for 6 years then said she was done, now she wants a keyboard - “YEAH” (play guitar myself) and through other research had it dialed down to these two. 2:30 into your video and I know I want the Casio... plus, it has more watts, always a good thing \m/
Nice comparison. Towards the end while talking about interface versatility, by mistake you took Casio's name instead of Yamaha. Also, live control knobs needed a mention..
Casio is my choice simply because of the ability to edit rhythms and sounds. It's not a minor difference and I'm willing to sacrifice small quality differences in other orders for that.

Thanks for the review. I own a Casio CT-X3000. Now I will express my opinion which keyboard is better. The Yamaha PSR-E463 is better in terms of tone quality and overall sound. The Casio CT-X3000 is a bit inferior: the sound is a little plasticky and lacks soft bass in the overall mix. In terms of style and tone editing capabilities, the presence of phrase pads, many registration memories and other features, Casio far exceeds the PSR-E463. Conclusion. If you need a tool for learning or for playing music and getting to know musical styles without editing them, Yamaha is better. If you're looking for an inexpensive arranger, this is the CT-X3000. Casio has one point that you need to pay attention to before buying. After about a year of use, the keys begin to rustle and the further the stronger. This is the result of the lubricant on the keys wearing out and is not difficult to reapply. For me, this is not a problem, I do it in 1 hour, but for this you need to disassemble a little tool. For whom this is unacceptable Casio is not for you.
Dear Jeremy, could you please make this same comparison between Casio CT-X700 and Yamaha PSR-E373? I would really appreciate that a lot. Thanks a lot, greetings 🙂
I used to prefer Yamaha portable keyboards over Casio years ago because of the sounds and ease with midi but every time I start looking at portable keyboards the Casios seem to have the features I want in a budget price for how I use a keyboard. The Casios have more polyphony and control for the price. The Yamahas though always have certain sounds that make you go wow for the price.
Hello Jeremy, Thanks for this video comparision. I just received my Casio CT-x5000 some days ago and I'm now making my own comparision with my PSR-e463 and beguining to study the online french manual. I've work for all the coming winter. Your videos are great and wish the best to you. JP
Yamaha is just updating old models with a couple of new patches, while Сasio is completely on the new sound engine. Also, Сasio has a better build, the plastic is sturdier and the keys don't yellow in the sun.
Jeremy, Im pretty certain that you have heard of the "KETRON EVENT KEYBOARD" made in Italy. What are the chances for you to get a hold of one and do a review on it?..They are sold on Ebay Thanks Jeremy, an avid fan of yours😊
Dear Jeremy, thank you for your videos! I have a question 👋. In your opinion, comparing Casio WK 7600 vs Yamaha PSR EW310, which piano sound better to your ears? Thank you 😊
I think that one of the first things that should be understood is that the EW series replaced many of the mid-level priced DGX 200/300 series which were retired about four years ago. Casio very similarly trimmed their product lines in the WK lineup. I think the only WK boards still in production aside from the 7600 are the 7500 and the 6600. Just like the Yamaha EW series they are budget priced keyboards - but with serious arranger capabilities. Typically, one of the most prominent features in such keyboards is the auto accompaniment. It's a band in a box for the musician without a rhythm section. If you can't find a RUclips video that can compare the two, you may need to take a trip to a music store in your neighborhood
@@JeremySee I know, but the price, sounds and features are perfect for what I need and want right now. I have other gear, and intend to get some new items that will do what I want, later.
I like the Yamaha PSR-E463 better. I think the sounds "flow" the best. They are warmer, and I really like the way you can use the panel button to CHANGE the sound. That's cool. The organ sound was better on the CT-X. The styles are better on the CT-X also, more variations, not so redundant. I really like that you can download a lot of sounds on the Yamaha. I prefer the sax on that one too ... even the entry level models. Yamaha has nailed the sax sound. One thing that frustrates me a little about the guitar on my CT-X800 and this 3000 too .. While there is a lot more clarity on the Casio.. (one tries to get that "fingernails-on-th-strings" clarity).. I just wish keyboard samples would capture the sustain and resonance of an acoustic guitar. Real guitars are far richer in sound. It seems that guitar sounds on keyboards, generally speaking, are dry and choppy. Nylon strings have less sustain but I've NEVER heard a decent steel string on any keyboard. Not even close. So, I think I like the Yamaha, it has a little more flow. One thing about guitar on a keyboard .. you sure can play it a LOT easier than a real guitar. To play that fast and create some of the same chords (you couldn't), one's fingers would end up in knots. So keyboard offers many more chords.and easier expression. I wonder if there is a REAL sounding guitar sample out there. There is software you can buy that's pretty close, like Native Instruments picking session. The strings on a CT-X are very, very good.. so sweet. I'm anxious to find out if the Yamaha PSR-E373 is better than the previous model. If I were to buy one of these in your video.. it would be the Yamaha PSR-E463. Not for capabilities, but overall sound. The AIX sound chip is really amazing in the Casio models and some of the other tones are very realistic, but my ear likes the Yamaha and it fits what I like to play. I love it when you do comparisons and it's REALLY useful for prospective buyers. .
Hi Shelly, in order to find a better guitar sound you have to look at the higher level of arranger keyboards. And while Genos with it's s.art2! voices is far too expensive, look for videos on how acoustic guitars sound on the Yamaha SX700. It has s.art! voices and you can also watch videos with older models with guitar sounds like PSR S770/S970 so you can understand what "effect" super articulation voices are creating for each different sound and kind of instrument. Of course a PSR-SX700 is 3 times more expensive than a PSR-E463. Here you can find an article on the official Yamaha's page on how s.art! voices produce the sounds and how to use them while playing: hub.yamaha.com/super-articulation-part-2-guitar-and-clarinet-voices/
Which of these comes with audio interface? Also my friends have experienced the quality of Casio keys degrade within a year. So for intermediates purposely for stage, studio and more for practice which u do u prefer?
You contradicted yourself when you compared the USB ports, it's confusing. Anyway i think the Yamaha sounds sweeter and full bodied, in other words closer to the analogue instruments in terms of waveform modelling. CASIO does better at giving premium features not sound though IMO.
I wish I could have this Casio one day. Eversince I was in elementary school I just always borrow keyboard or when I was in a mall I I’m just playing on a public piano to pursue my passion. I was fortunate in skills but I wasn’t fortunate to buy one even now that I’m working beacause of responsibilities. But I’m still hoping in the future that I will have my own. 🤍
Hi i like your videos, can you suggest which one is better over PSR-E463 or CAsio ct x9000IN in terms of sound quality and Features, does casio support similar feature as groove for DJ or sampling
I have played a CTK-7000 in church for about 7 years - when the CTX models came out I bought this 3000 model and was very disappointed at the reduction of sound quality - and that it didn't have the L/R outputs like the CTK 7000 (even the cheaper CTK 6000 has the L/R). When I ran a cable from the headphone to my PA amp, not only was the quality of sound greatly reduced - the keyboard speakers turned off (unlike the CTK models). Casio made a huge mistake in this "upgrade".
9:15 USB as an interface on Yamaha or Casio? Sorry I didn’t get it. You meant on Yamaha, no need for an interface in contrast to CASIO which you need one?
Mr jeremy.please can you make a tutorial.of how to obtain the same quality off sound when conected to a PA..?..Iam wondering how cause the casio sounds toy.with PA...
I am a long time guitar player and very basic keyboard player I hope you can advise me on a keyboard that would produce great B3 Hammond organ sounds as well as good electric piano sounds like the Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric piano sound (like what I say by Ray Charles). I also need a transpose function. I would like to stay under $500. Thanks sincerely for your valuable advice. Jim
Good video, but you forgot to compare the other saxophone sweet voices that Casio has (even if they are called different), that can easily compete with the sweet tenor sax of the Yamaha. I would say the variety of voices of the Casio is way nicer than the Yamy... Plus, I owned Yamaha keyboards and on the entry level range I can say they will always make problems with the keys, electronics from humidity or dust, and you would have to open them, clean them, fix them, while the Casio seems to not have this problem as much. Casio has more reliable electronics.
Sure? Why so many people complain about the keys doing plasticky noise very soon... maybe the issue is not the dust, but there are issues kith CTX keybed... these keybed issues are what is holding me to buy a CTX and looking for other options
Sir when is the yamaha psr e373 releasing in india?....should i wait for it to be released or should i buy the casio ctx8000in?...or are they incomparable?. .do help
Hi Jeremy, i've watched a lot of your videos and i like it because your videos are very informative. By the way, i'm going to buy a keyboard, and I have a few questions. Is the e463 still worth buying for the next 5 years or maybe 10? Do you have any suggestions, for beginners it is better to use e463 or e373? I still can't decide which one to buy. Hope you are pleased to answer my questions. Thank you very much.
Just my opinion; with these type of keyboards, comparing Like for Like instrument voices is not necessary. I mean who would buy these Keyboards to play as a Stand alone 'Piano or Organ ? ; What does matter is how they sound and perform when playing in Keyboard/ Arranger mode ; with the Styles, melody voices with Layers and Multi Pads. Great video as ever though Jeremy.

Dear Jeremy, I know & respect you as an authority on arranger keyboards. In your honest opinion, what is the best arranger keyboard for blues styles?
Nice comparison and description 👌
Thanks
I like the sounds developed by the Casio, they just sound much more realistic than the Yamaha.
I love it when you do comparisons and it's REALLY useful for prospective buyers.
.
Thank you for sharing Shelly! Great insights.
Hi Shelly,
in order to find a better guitar sound you have to look at the higher level of arranger keyboards.
Here you can find an article on the official Yamaha's page on how s.art! voices produce the sounds and how to use them while playing:

@@Panos-Veria Thank you for the great information!
Which of these comes with audio interface? Also my friends have experienced the quality of Casio keys degrade within a year. So for intermediates purposely for stage, studio and more for practice which u do u prefer?
I'm wetting for this video . good review , but I'm looking a good piano sound Which one will chose ? Yamaha or Casio or Korg
Wait for e373
Which city country do u live in ?
Very useful video! Thank you!
9:15 USB as an interface on Yamaha or Casio? Sorry I didn’t get it. You meant on Yamaha, no need for an interface in contrast to CASIO which you need one?
I flashed the correction on the screen.
The PSR-E473 has got my vote. Thanks, Jeremy!
Great video as always Jeremy 👍
Mr jeremy.please can you make a tutorial.of how to obtain the same quality off sound when conected to a PA..?..Iam wondering how cause the casio sounds toy.with PA...
I am a long time guitar player and very basic keyboard player I hope you can advise me on a keyboard that would produce great B3 Hammond organ sounds as well as good electric piano sounds like the Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric piano sound (like what I say by Ray Charles). I also need a transpose function. I would like to stay under $500. Thanks sincerely for your valuable advice. Jim
Sir please suggest which one should I go for.. Yamaha psr i400 or Casio ctx 8000in? Thanks
How about the rhythm/styles? Which do you prefer?
Any news about E-473 ? When will it be released?
Hi Jeremy, please can you show me how to save some styles on the casio ctx3000
Good video, but you forgot to compare the other saxophone sweet voices that Casio has (even if they are called different), that can easily compete with the sweet tenor sax of the Yamaha. I would say the variety of voices of the Casio is way nicer than the Yamy... Plus, I owned Yamaha keyboards and on the entry level range I can say they will always make problems with the keys, electronics from humidity or dust, and you would have to open them, clean them, fix them, while the Casio seems to not have this problem as much. Casio has more reliable electronics.
Personal experience. I see many Casio reviewers and users complain about bad keybed. I think both have problems at entry level..
Sure? Why so many people complain about the keys doing plasticky noise very soon... maybe the issue is not the dust, but there are issues kith CTX keybed... these keybed issues are what is holding me to buy a CTX and looking for other options

Sir how can I records Yamaha e463 in Steinberg Cubase through midi cable?
Great video Jeremy 👍👍
Both sound great 😊. Great review
I do not know why but every time when I have to know about any keyboard I search for you.
Wait a few more months. E473 will be announced soon. 😉
@@JeremySee Interesting, i better wait. Thank you Jeremy for the advice. 👍
Do a comparison between E463 and Roland EX30 please 🙏
Which is quicker to change registrations on the fly for live play🎹
Sir can we create own rhythms in Yamaha psr e 473
Nice, thanks for the video.I guess ctx shluld be the one
Just my opinion; with these type of keyboards, comparing Like for Like instrument voices is not necessary. I mean who would buy these Keyboards to play as a Stand alone 'Piano or Organ ? ; What does matter is how they sound and perform when playing in Keyboard/ Arranger mode ; with the Styles, melody voices with Layers and Multi Pads.
Great video as ever though Jeremy.
Well said!
@@JeremySee But do you agree ?😆😆
great video, thank you Jeremy
Please make a video on how to clean our keyboard sometimes.
Hi Jeremy speakers make a difference. The casio keyboard speakers are awesome.Yamaha need to update the speakers.
Indeed
@@JeremySee you do very good reviews on keyboard. So far you the honest and the best. One more thing show us how to download tones patches rythms like India does on their keyboard.I am in boyywood music and need to know how I can download these Indian sounds and tones.

Haha... the minute I saw the list of options printed on the case of the Yamaha, I immediately thought, "Screw that... Not even in the running!"
Sir , I have YAHAMA PSR E-463 and I am stucked.....
When I save a voice in a memory bank..and plays a song with a beat and when I switch to another memory the beat also changes!
Can u help me out of this?
Are you recommending Bora BX2 and Bora BX5 ? or should I go with PSR EW 300?
Should have saw this before buying the i500 😭 , there are a few advantages like your teacher knowing what tone you should be using etc..(In the Yamaha)
