Can you recommend a keyboard for use it with Flow Key Apps to learn piano on my phone? And I don't' have a lot of money like not the expensive one. To learn and make the relaxing vibe of the music
Considering the fact that Casio is more user-friendly, I personally agree that the CT-X700 is much better than PSR-E373. Plus, the AiX sound technology also produces great sounds. It would be very much helpful, convenient and excellent for long-term usage, especially for beginners. BTW, this is a great video, Jeremy! Hope you and your family continue to prosper. Stay safe.
I still bought Yamaha E373, coz sound of piano was important for me. Which is way better than Casio. Also there is no DSPs Ot Super articulation Function in Casio.
I think the main piano sound of these 2 keyboards are at a similar level. My ears and musical/timbre taste hears the CT-X700's main piano sound as a better piano sound compared to the PSR-E373's main piano sound. There are others who's ears and musical/timbre taste hears the PSR-E373's main piano sound as a better piano sound compared to the CT-X700's main piano sound. So it is subjective which sound is better, because non of us have a control of which aspects of these sounds are our ears and musical/timbre taste enjoys more. And non of us is going to convince our senses/tastes otherwise, because our tastes is not really in our control, we can't help it. A similar example to our musical taste would be food taste. Some people like salty food more compared to sweet food. Others like sweet food more compared to salty food. We can't help liking one taste better than the other taste. So the question of "Which keyboard sounds better?" in this case is not mainly a question of some kind of objective-, measurable-, technical facts, but it is about our senses (our hearing with our ears), and our senses are subjective observation-devices, they are tied to the subject, the subject is us, and-/or our subjective musical timbre taste.
Nice comparison. While Casio has improved their keyboards with new functions, specs, and sound generator, I still find some of the voices of it inferior to the same voices of Yamaha keyboards, however, the electric pianos of Casio are better than Yamaha, especially the Galaxia EP sound.
"Now let's look at the pitch bend wheel which both of them doesn't have"...Best line in the video😂😂 BTW Jeremy we're still expecting the sx600 vs pa300 video from u🙂
I have bought the Casio CTC 870IN. After using it for a year, I would say, for Beginners, YAMAHA E363 or E373 is better as in the beginning years, we use the keyboard very roughly.. The yamaha build quality is better than Casio. I am using the older E354 & E343 in my class & they r still tough & intact althoug so many students use it. On the contrary, using Casio a little rough, & the keys are making a clicking sound which is very irritating now. Casio is highly feature rich, very crisp & great sound & very user friendly, but I recommend it only after 5-6 years of being an expert in keyboard, when ur fingers can glide smoothly on the keyboard & when u actually need to use the features. As a beginner, u won't need all these said features.
I really wanted to see the voice differences in the two keyboards, but sadly that wasn't covered in the video. Could you give your opinion on whose voice/tones you like more - PSR E373 vs CTX 700/870?
Jeremy, thank you for these informative videos. Although I work professionally as as bassist, I’ve never learned piano and was looking to purchase an inexpensive keyboard for having around the house. Your content has helped me learn the ins and outs of these products. They both have their positive and negative aspects, but I decided on the Casio simply because to me, the piano/electric piano sounds are a little better and it comes with a power supply. The inability to adjust the volume while blending sounds in the biggest drawback to me, but since I’m not planning on using it for anything other than a learning tool, I don’t think it will be a big problem. I hope I made the right choice.
Casio every time for me, A great beginners keyboard, with a much better display than the awful Yamaha display. Casio shows me Chords & notes which I am playing on the right hand side of the display, & much easier on the eyes, as contrast can easily be adjusted. The tones are pretty realistic too.
I would really love to see a side-by-side video comparison of the 363 and the 373. It would be nice to hear the grand piano difference .. maybe some other differences too. That's something I will be anxious to find out when my 373 comes ..
Hi Jeremy interesting review as usual. One little comment: there are actually many DSPs on the CT-X700 and 800 but they are set and already assigned to each voice concerned. For instance, the rotary organ will always have the rotary DPS effect applied to it, the distorsion guitar will always have the distortion DSP applied to the sound, etc. Conversely, it is not possible to assign a DSP to a sound which does not have it programmed from the beginning.
Great video Jeremy! Glad to know that Yamaha improved on the key feel and many other features and functions. But, I feel both these keyboards may prove to be the best beginner keyboards under $200.
I am in the same situation and honestly I think the CT-X700 is better , because even though it has less range (for example it has a bit few less voices) it remains better user-friendly and I like the fact that its keys are box shaped rather than the PSR-E373's keys that look like a xylophone's keys. The PSR-E373 might have additional voices but it's not worth it in my opinion because at 600voices it's already a lot to be honest and it's enough. I don't know how far you are at right now but if you didn't decide yet search more , honestly as someone who's looking for a decent digital piano I feel the need to check the specs of each item that I consider as a candidate.
Neither pianos are perfect. But for me, I'm happy with my choice of the Yamaha PSRE373 61-Key Touch Sensitive Portable Keyboard If I want more I will invest more. Full feature all bangs and whistles will set me back a few grand. For me I'm not no where close to needing such features. In 4 or 5 years, maybe? For now I think I have all the tools to succeed in my quest to learn to play. Another great! review Jeremy
Sold my CTX-800 (didn’t lose much) and bought a PSR-E373 for my knock around battery keyboard. Miss the registration memory on the Casio but better sounds, styles and keybed on the Yamaha. I play in a rock band and have much, much more expensive gear but this little gem is my choice for a truly portable keyboard for sing alongs, small jams and around the campfire. As a bonus, it works so well with iPad and Korg Module, Camelot Pro, etc if I need more than this can do.
@@JeremySee If I had a complaint, well 2. The function button. Oh Yamaha, the function button. 70 or so presses to go around the loop. I would pay an extra $10 for a better way. Second is the octave shift (and pitch shift) require the use of the dreaded function button. Oh Yamaha, the function button. Please Yamaha. Fix the function button. There must be a better way.
Thank you so much Jeremy for this indepth review and comparison. On your next review, would definitely like to hear how the Yamaha e373 "live grand piano" sound compares with Casio x700 grand piano. This would greatly help me decide on which keyboard to get. I JUST DESTROYED THE LIKE BUTTON 👍
As of this moment, in Hong Kong PSR-E373s go for HK$1,399 while the older CT-X700s go for HK$1,680. I'd guess the difference is that Hong Kong people generally aren't as rich as in Japan or US, so whatever they buy the first time will end up being the "only keyboard" rather than the "first-year keyboard". From that point of view, not having to switch keyboards halfway through the course due to "finger-on-bass" is apparently enough of an advantage the price-setters can set the prices this way. But honestly, how much would I miss finger on bass and "chord inversions" if I don't plan on taking courses?
Very informative comparison. Over-all, I'm leaning towards Casio in terms of ease and user friendliness. Also, I kinda dislike the low-height keys. But that's just me!
Thank you so much Jeremy,, that's what I was waiting for. I would have added only one difference more: the quality of the sound (which is probably one of the key factor which drives choice). Thank you so much!
I finally decided to buy Casio ct x700 because of octave shift 😅. if audio sound is concern we can put it on Midi, connect to computer or mobile then use apps/software to have a great audio and there are plenty of choice. 😁
the Casio CTX 700 is quite far cheaper, the same price as Yamaha PSR E273 (in my place, at least), and has quicker access to features, while the Yamaha PSR E373 has DSP and super articulation, which could be useful sound quality wise, I think they're both quite similar I'm too confused now...
Hello Jeremy. Your suggestions are really helpful and thank you for helping all specially it helps a lot to beginner like me. I have a cordial request that could you please make a video for comparison between Casio CT-X870IN and Yamaha PSR E373? I am asking because I am from India and I would love to have a piano which has more built in Indian instruments. These both are new models in India and I am not able to figure out which one is best in sound quality and touch sensitivity though I visited a shop and played both pianos. Even if you cannot make a video then please let me know via this comment which one is better in above two mentioned criteria.
Thanks for your videos Jeremy...They helped me make an informed decision. One question; Being that the 373 has voices brought in from higher models, how would you rate the new 373 voices against the 463?
I was a classically tried pianist from Montreal, QU. Looking for a portable keyboard while i figure out how to program and use my new Midi gear (SLI88 STUDIO
Hey Jeremy, why don’t you make a video reviving the most famous Korg Triton LE from 2002 and the original Korg Triton from 1999 that almost noone uses today despite its high quality of sounds. These keyboards are still worth buying today. You can compare the Triton LE with the EK-50 which interestingly has a piano sample that sounds very similar to the Triton. Even the famous-sounding tennor and baritone saxophones in the EK-50 are derived from the Triton. You can review the cost of each keyboard for anyone who wishes to buy one or the other. I am dying to here once again from the Korg Triton; that will be a throw-back for many people.
I totally agree, as I got on ebay myself a triton series (taktile49-2014) for 130euros fully working and I really enjoy both quality sounds and keybed/pads ..very well built....but right today, I hv got this new 'Gem' PSR E-373 from Yamaha(promo price 209euros on www.strumentimusicali.net/wishlist.php ..waiting for such keyboard since long time..aware of the fact that it records at 16 bit.. and that the new sounds, adopted from the top series, are downgraded at 8 bit. But, since the samples cores are originally high quality sampling files, the output audio from this e-373 is still on another level comparing with previous cheaper models..than everything magic can be done nowadays with latest re-sampling technology...still super worth to buy this specific new generation yamaha model psr-e373 ..Jeremy again is awesome..buona musica a tutti.
Many thanks for this comparison! I bought the x800 already though (costed me less than even x700 as it was in their shop for a display). Even then, can you please put up a video where you compare the sound of casio x700/800 v/s yamaha e373??
Thanks for a great video I have the CT-X700 couldn't wait for the PSR-E373 to come out. I already have an Yamaha P125 which watching your videos I know the difference now. Keep up the good work.
Jeremy. Thanks for the video. I am going to buying for a 10yr old who is keen on learning to play. Which has the best self tuition features and which one would you recommend. Note in Thailand the Casio is about 25% cheaper
Thank you for this review, Jeremy. For the review of these keyboards, I was expecting you to play each keyboard so we can compare the sound of each one. I have been reviewing keyboards this week (July 18, 2022), and one thing I noticed in two different videos regarding these two keyboards is the pricing difference. A lot of people have commented that these are in the same price range, however... I searched both keyboards today and the Casio is at $200 while the Yamaha is at $350. That is quite a difference for everyone to be saying these are at the same price point. If the review has these two keyboards close overall, I would go with the Casio and save the $150. But you did not give your opinion for which one you consider to be the better deal, even though you ask this question in the title of your video. Did you come to your own conclusion for which keyboard is the better deal?
Cool. Only; next time, could you give more details? KIDDING! You know these products better than the retailers. Thanks. Its no small matter to create this level of content.
Hi Jeremy, Good day. I am from India I want to buy a piano keyboard. Watched your review on Yamaha PSR E373. Could you please suggest if this 61 keyboard will help me to learn up to intermediate lessons.
Please upload the all tones comparision of these both keyboard because I think Yamaha may have less features but has more sound quality so please make foll sound comparision video
Jeremy, I am looking to buy a beginner keyboard and have narrowed it down to the Yamaha PSR-E373 and the Casio CTX-6250. I know in another video you mentioned the outdated sound chip on the Casio as a reason not to buy it but your review didn't include the newer E373. Are they close in comparison or would you say the E3373 is much better?
Hi Jeremy. I need an affordable keyboard that does great Hammond B3 sounds. The cheaper the better. I have a PSR 473 for all the other piano sound I need. Thanks.
its just like cameras. which one is better Canon or Nikon. but its really the photographers skill that make a picture beautiful. same is the case with Keyboard
Hey Jeremy, I was between these 2, but then I saw that the prices here in Brazil are very different between these 2... converting that would be: CT-X700 for $253 (best deal I could find, it's usually more expensive than that) CT-X800 for $335,99 PSR-E373 for $341,65 Given the huge price difference and small differences between those, do u think it'd be more worthy going for the CT-X700 in this case? thanks
y for a great video......on the yamaha, can you play a piano melody, and then have that melody repeat, and then play a bass line, and have that repeat while the piano melody continues to play, and then add a trumpet melody, and have that continue to play while the other two melodies continue to play, etc. etc. etc?
Hello I am from Argentina. I am about to buy my first keyboard. The models I have seen are the Casio CT-X800 and the Yamaha PSR-E343, I also saw the PSR-E463. and the WK-6600 Which one do you recommend? I'm not interested in cumbia or quartet or vallennato or salsa, if I'm interested in international music from the 80/90 pop dance. Thank you so much.
I’m rock, jazz and blues guitarist. Did I miss it ? Or did you miss the benefit of the Yamaha e 373 has a 10,000 note memory? ( according to Sweetwater ad in the USA) This is very important when I’m playing out somewhere and I want to play along with my guitar on a song I wrote on my keyboard. Also, how about some comparable sound samples? Can I get a sound like on “ Chain Lightning “ by Steely Dan ? Or the organ on Jimi Hendrix’s “ Rainy Day, Dream Away” ? Or the keyboard sound on the open ing/ closing credit music for The Charlie Rose Show ? Thanks for warning me about the Yamaha psr 360. Also for $199 US. It only has 300 notes of memory. 😱
Hi, Jeremy, very nice review. I was surprised to see the Yamaha Sound Controller app (you really should have mentioned the name, LOL) which I had never noticed before. Sadly, I found out that it was discontinued shortly after the review and there is no replacement :-(
I want to buy a keyboard but I don't know which one. I just want to play as a hobby, I don't want to be a singer or anything similar, just play some songs but with a pleasant sound and related to price-quality
Sir, I'm 19, I never took piano lessons, not really sure if I want to buy a new piano bc what i have is getting old and I love the playing the piano and just learning pieces on youtube but at the same time I kinda wanna be more rational with my decisions idk. So, I just want to know the best reasons why we should invest on a piano or a keyboard these days sir.
Mr.Jeremy thank you so much for that video I wanted to get the Casio keyboard but after watching this video I order the Yamaya , I'm from the middle east and we use ( quarter tones ) and we use 4 main instruments which they all programmed into the Yamaha ( Santur , Kanoon, Oud Rabab and Tabla in World collection ) but i want to ask you can I adjust the tone ? we change the black key percentage /value ( not sure how to explain it in musical terms!) and can I add my own rhythm ? but if you know please let me know and thank you again
In the bonus difference, can you tell me If the ctx can send midi files (the ones I can put up and tweak on piano roll of fl studio) without an audio interface? And need interface to send audio data (as wavelengths) to the daw?
Which of the two keywords is better for a beginner who is interested in ultimately playing 80s new wave or synth-pop and 80s top 40 tracks? Thank you in advance.

I finally decided to buy Casio ct x700 because of octave shift 😅. if audio sound is concern we can put it on Midi, connect to computer or mobile then use apps/software to have a great audio and there are plenty of choice. 😁
I think there both pretty good. The Yamaha seems to have better sound quality than Casio in my opinion. Great information ℹ️🤩👍😎
Hi Jeremy , please do a video for 2024 on the best keyboards for beginners and intermediate users
the Casio CTX 700 is quite far cheaper, the same price as Yamaha PSR E273 (in my place, at least), and has quicker access to features, while the Yamaha PSR E373 has DSP and super articulation, which could be useful
sound quality wise, I think they're both quite similar
I'm too confused now...
Which one have u picked now?? And are u happy with you selection.
Ctx 700 due to price because it already has many features of psr
Hello Jeremy. Your suggestions are really helpful and thank you for helping all specially it helps a lot to beginner like me. I have a cordial request that could you please make a video for comparison between Casio CT-X870IN and Yamaha PSR E373? I am asking because I am from India and I would love to have a piano which has more built in Indian instruments. These both are new models in India and I am not able to figure out which one is best in sound quality and touch sensitivity though I visited a shop and played both pianos. Even if you cannot make a video then please let me know via this comment which one is better in above two mentioned criteria.
I have the same problem. I am also really confused between casio ctx870 and yamaha e373
Same confusion
Thanks for your videos Jeremy...They helped me make an informed decision.
One question; Being that the 373 has voices brought in from higher models, how would you rate the new 373 voices against the 463?
E463 is still a better package with more features and a significantly more powerful speaker system.
@@JeremySee ok, thanks for that...
I thought maybe the 373 might've had a better GP voice, but wishful thinking I guess lol
You can always swap the speakers XD
The keyboard that I’m getting is the casio ct x 800
Which one do you suggest we buy?
Thanks for this video
Although this video is of no use for me but I enjoyed watching it
Learning more about keyboard 😂❤️
Thanks buddy!
So its of no use but you learned from it? Hum
I was a classically tried pianist from Montreal, QU. Looking for a portable keyboard while i figure out how to program and use my new Midi gear (SLI88 STUDIO
Do you offer lesson in Midi programming etc. If so, I’d be interested in engaging your assistance.
Montréal, QC* 😋
I have 88 keey casio piano and recently i was buy the yamaha psr-e373 for mao music compositions
I choose Yamaha all days in week.
Thanks brother for the info. Today i ordered casio ct x800 for my 5yr old son..he is interested in piano.
Yamaha psr e373 or medeli m361
I totally agree, as I got on ebay myself a triton series (taktile49-2014) for 130euros fully working and I really enjoy both quality sounds and keybed/pads ..very well built....but right today, I hv got this new 'Gem' PSR E-373 from Yamaha(promo price 209euros on www.strumentimusicali.net/wishlist.php
..waiting for such keyboard since long time..aware of the fact that it records at 16 bit.. and that the new sounds, adopted from the top series, are downgraded at 8 bit.
I want the features of casio and sounds of yamaha
Thanks Jeremy, these reviews are so good.
Thanks for a great video I have the CT-X700 couldn't wait for the PSR-E373 to come out. I already have an Yamaha P125 which watching your videos I know the difference now. Keep up the good work.
Ctx700 is good to learn?
Is there a similar casio to the yamaha psr e463 for beginners with regards to the price range ?
ruclips.net/video/T3gS5V7qG7c/видео.html
Jeremy. Thanks for the video. I am going to buying for a 10yr old who is keen on learning to play. Which has the best self tuition features and which one would you recommend. Note in Thailand the Casio is about 25% cheaper
Can i play the Casio CTX700 with my speakers?
Thank you, thank you, thank you
I'm glad it's useful.
@@JeremySee I went for the PRS-E373 XD I thought the sounds might be slightly better? Just got it today!!
@@angelanderson8841 how it is ??
Sir ji dono me kon sa best h sir bataiyaga sir ji
Jeremy Casio CT X3000and Yamaha psr E463 which has better voices?
Bro we want a full review on Yamaha PSR E373 please😄
Very good I always like your video and you are a good piano teacher
Many many thanks
i love your videos, psr e373 was my first choice but even psr e273 is way more expensive than ct x700 in my country, so i'll get ct x700 i think
nice topics!!! it's very understandable video with such a clear explanation 👍🏻
sorry if my english are bad 😅
What is the best keyboard for home professionals with Indian tones like Harmonium etc? Plz suggest
Well done Jeremy sir
Looking forward to YAMAHA PSR SX 600 !!! ❤️
Cool. Only; next time, could you give more details? KIDDING! You know these products better than the retailers. Thanks. Its no small matter to create this level of content.
😉
Really can't decide which one of 'em to choose. I'm a bit lacking of budget
Hey Jeremy, I was between these 2, but then I saw that the prices here in Brazil are very different between these 2...
converting that would be: CT-X700 for $253 (best deal I could find, it's usually more expensive than that)
CT-X800 for $335,99
PSR-E373 for $341,65
Given the huge price difference and small differences between those, do u think it'd be more worthy going for the CT-X700 in this case? thanks
of courseeeeeeeee dude
y for a great video......on the yamaha, can you play a piano melody, and then have that melody repeat, and then play a bass line, and have that repeat while the piano melody continues to play, and then add a trumpet melody, and have that continue to play while the other two melodies continue to play, etc. etc. etc?
TQ Jeremy. Keep it up.👍
Thanx, Jeremy 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hello I am from Argentina.
I am about to buy my first keyboard. The models I have seen are the Casio CT-X800 and the Yamaha PSR-E343, I also saw the PSR-E463. and the WK-6600
Which one do you recommend?
I'm not interested in cumbia or quartet or vallennato or salsa, if I'm interested in international music from the 80/90 pop dance.
Thank you so much.
Hi Jeremy, which has the better piano sound?.
I’m rock, jazz and blues guitarist. Did I miss it ? Or did you miss the benefit of the Yamaha e 373 has a 10,000 note memory? ( according to Sweetwater ad in the USA)
This is very important when I’m playing out somewhere and I want to play along with my guitar on a song I wrote on my keyboard.
Sadly, I found out that it was discontinued shortly after the review and there is no replacement :-(
Thanks for the review Jeremy. In your opinion who has better piano sound, the PSR373 or Roland GO-Piano?
This helped me decide on my boyfriend’s Christmas gift. He’s a complete beginner. I hope he likes it. Purchased this through your link. Thanks!
Thank you and your boyfriend will have fun!
@Jeremy See i cant decide what is the best for me. I was waiting for you to play a little piece on each of them to make the decision.
Playing comparison video coming soon.
@@JeremySee Waiting...🤣. Need to be a good one because im gonna decide each one im gonna pick to start learning.😁
Can we use psr e373 as a midi keyboard with DAWs like studio one, fl studio to control virtual instruments
So, I just want to know the best reasons why we should invest on a piano or a keyboard these days sir.
sorry it iss 2024 now. wat is now the infos for yamaha to found.
Hey Jeremy I have two options buy an used yamaha psr e453 for $150 or a new Casio ctx700 around the same price what should I do? X)
Hello jeremy which one of this keyboards have a better grand piano sound.casio ct x700 or the yamaha psr e373.
Is there any inbuilt sustain on/off function in Casio ctx870 like yamaha? . If yes then please make a video to turn the sustain on.
Very descriptive comparison. 👍🏼
Glad you liked it
the yamaha line is showing its age, maybe it's time to rework it after 10 years.
Hello Brother. Please can u make a video Of YAMAHA PSR I400 all function rhythm settings memory banks and adjustment.
Which of the two keywords is better for a beginner who is interested in ultimately playing 80s new wave or synth-pop and 80s top 40 tracks? Thank you in advance.
Nice video, this explains some of the facts to choose piano
