This has got to be one of the single best ideas I have ever seen and heard!!! I just can’t stop listening to these wonderful performers... I’m totally addicted!! ❤️👍🏻
You took words out of my head Melanie Gibson!! Like seriously I am an addict and I want to watch videos at same time so I am accomplishing nothing but feeling the music/love ❤️❤️❤️ I so appreciate every one of you !! May God bless you all!!!
About 10 years ago, I was standing on a train platform in NYC. I was on my way home from an awful day at work. I was late on my rent, my car had been towed, my bank account was overdrawn, and I had just used the last ride on my MetroCard. I was hungry and I knew I didn't have any food at home. I wouldn't be paid for another 2 days. As I stood on this train platform, a homeless man with a guitar sang this song, tears on his face. I gave him the last $3 in my wallet and stood there on that platform and cried with him. This song will always remind me of that moment.
Exactamente! Estuve lejos de casa y es un sentimiento difícil de ocultar cuando se extraña al hogar. Regresé y estoy feliz por ello. Mi saludo especial para aquellos que por una u otra razón no han podido volver.
75 years old and ALL these people singin’ this iconic song TOGETHER brings me to tears because the more different we all are…. the more we are the same.. never ever forget…. MUSIC RULES THE WORLD
It’s funny that people in Jamaica, Israel, and wherever else are singing about the tight, heavily wooded, winding roads between mountains and hills in West Virginia when they are in paradises themselves. All are beautiful and the production people and musicians fabulous.
Could they not sing about their own countries and instruments shedding light on the beautiful ways of their land languages and ways? I disagree. Mamma Africa Jah Herb from Tucson Arizona Sonoran 🏜️ desert 🍄🌵🇯🇲🇺🇸🇸🇪 Afro Viking.explore world musica
@@stephanlarsen8169, I wonder if I didn’t write well enough. I wanted to say they have such wonderful music in their own countries which partly makes up those paradises. They are performing music from another country and I am VERY grateful. I love the music. I would also love their music, I’m sure. I keep thinking that the producers chose the US’s most uplifting music mostly because that means more donations.
I lived in the Caribbean and now WV, both are absolutely gorgeous and almost heaven in such different but similar ways it's hard to describe. Grenada and WV have the forests, mountains, and love for the simple life in common. It's nice to appreciate the things that unite us.
Music took me to those places I could never saw, soothed the pain I grew up with, painted a smile on my face, kept me company trough a life a loneliness.
I love this. I'm a born and raised full blooded West Virginian and this does bring tears to my eyes seeing this performed by so many different people from all over the world. I hope that some day each of the performers have the opportunity to come and visit us here in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia and to see why we love our state so well.
I am a neighbor in Virginia and retired from the WV Air National Guard and spent time doing flood damage repair and snow removal. This song has some meaning to me
When I was growing up in the seventies our family vacations were all camping & backpacking trips. This song, and “Rocky Mountain High” were like our family anthems for those trips. We would sing them when sitting around a campfire or riding in our yellow Gord econoline camper which we called our “yellow submarine.” Sure do miss those days.
so amazing how music, cuts across all areas of the world and touches hearts in much the same way! Music transends all the nonsense, and tunes our hearts into greatness! and Oneness, one big Family.
Google describes 'Playing for Change" as a shared vision between co-founders, Mark Johnson, Raan Williams and Whitney Kroenke. The world needs to know that these great, thoughtful, heart-in-the-right place guys have done a beautiful thing for the world and the musicians. May love always make itself felt in their lives. Well done!!!
This is so amazing, John Denver would be so proud. All Music should be recorded like this. All of these artists contributions are fantastic. Thank you for this.
What a "GREAT" thing to say, and I couldn't agree more, if we ALL listened to Playing for Change, and came together like them, the world would be nice again . ! .

This song makes me remember my dear old Dad showing me where he grew up in a log cabin deep in the Appalachian Mountains near Capon Bridge, WV. Such beautiful country there. Yes, almost Heaven, West Virginia. ❤️
