Brad Stevens has only re-signed & extended players who were on the Celtics roster last NBA season when they won the NBA Finals. Not Gordon Hayward 🙅♂️ we have too many wings already. We need to give walsh as much playing time as possible during the regular season. His development will be so good for the team considering his potential, his contract and the fact that Hauser might be gone next year. Why give the minutes to a 1year contract vet? Let Walsh get exp. Hauser will still be the main wing off the bench come playoff time this year anyways.
Bingo. There no need to block the development of the young guys for a guy who will sit on the end of the bench. Not worth paying those extra luxury taxes or killing the option of ducking under the 2nd apron this year.

Of these three Green would be the way to go. After KP comes back you could still run a 5 out with Payton, Green, Houser, Baylor and Big Al. Payton and Green could go crazy slashing to the hoop
@@_A_O_79 hayward is the better shooter. With that said, its pointless as Brad already said hes done until the trade deadline/buyout market. Only thing left is the last 2W slot (most likely after summer league), adding 1 more assistant coach and whether sam extends or not (most likely not).
@@TheRobversion1 agreed Hayward is a better shooter but Green offers youth, toughness and energy into second unit. All that said though, you are right, we are not adding someone from the outside. I was just playing along with the video.
@@_A_O_79 yeah it was a stupid premise for the vid. It wouldve only made sense if the actual players are really good enough to break into the top 8. Meaning better than hauser and pp. It wouldve had to be someone like tyus jones or derozan coming here for the vet min (which is almost impossible).
Brads not paying 10+M (including taxes) for a guy who will sit on the bench behind sam and pp.

I agree. We need a guy off the bench who can shoot, create for himself and others plus hayward was always a decent rebounder. And coming off the bench would hopefully limit his likelihood to suffer injury as is habitual with him.

I would love to see Hayward come back to Boston. Gordon has one of the smoothest wet shots in the NBA. His form is impeccable.

@@nsp74 cant play D anymore and isnt linked to the celtics. Hes more linked to the mavs and brad already announced hes done until the trade deadline/buyout market. Not filling that 15th spot unless someone who can play as a top 8-9 guy like a derozan or miles decides to take that money.

They should sign a wing that can step in and hit 3’s and play some defense in case injuries happen.
They already have those in walsh and baylor. Springer cant even get on the court. To say nothing of anton and drew who can play that position too.
I understand what you are saying, but Walsh and Springer haven’t proven they can be consistent 3 point shooters. I’m talking about a veteran who has proven he can shoot 3’s on a consistent basis.
@@ChuckSanders-ct8hr dont need that. They have sam and baylor who are proven to hit that. Sam is a vet. Teams dont play more than 9-10 in the regular season. Wont play more than 7-8 in the playoffs. Whoever that vet min wing is, if he isnt a better player than Sam, will just sit on the bench.
When theres injuries, the Cs will just play their young guys to develop them like queta, walsh and baylor.
You also probably dont understand how good baylor is offensively.
Given the luxury tax penalties of the 2nd apron, i doubt brad touches that last spot. Masslive already reported hes keeping it open, as per usual, for the buyout market. Filling that last spot also means Brad kills the option to get under the 2nd apron this year. Simply not worth it. Brad's only going to do this if someone like demar derozan is coming as vet min.
The final roster spot will remain open, they are not signing anyone unless it’s someone remarkable like Derozan. And even then, they’d likely release or trade someone to free the spot back up

Sometimes it is worthwhile to the player to give up $500k just to sign with this Celtics team. It means more exposure on TVs and the chance to reach the conference champion and maybe the NBA title again.

We already have 14 players on the payroll for next year from what I see without either of their draft picks. Yeah, they can stash a couple of guys but why unless whoever they bring in is good enough to dispose of young talent. Nobody wants the Celtics to be a landing destination for declining players looking for a chip unless the Celtics needed depth which they don't. Green is a good talent but he's better off landing on a team where he can get minutes betting on good health and a better 1 or 2 year deal after to make some money before he retires because he's only made 6 million so far.

Gordon Hayward is a shell of his former self, and even at his peak, wasn't some world beater. He chose to leave Boston on his own accord, to go with CHARLOTTE. I'll pass on him. I'd rather just bring Brissett back. Isn't there only one spot open? Since the gigantic Porzingis is out for a long time, maybe bring back former Celtic, Tacko Fall. lol I always thought he could be decent, if they brought McHale in to work with him on his footwork. At 7'6" he makes Porzingis look like a midget.
