This is a game changer. I ordered some as soon as I saw your video and tried it the next week. No slides, no puckers, no errors. Who needs pins? Thanks for all your hard work on your videos and introducing us to this amazing product.
What a beautiful design on your quilt. Thank you for showing exactly how this new product works. Exciting. I love your tutorials. You are so clear and consise!
Just what I need - usually I spray baste outside, in the garage, but we've been inundated with frigid cold and snow, so my quilt tops are piling up! I'm going to try it out! You did a great job with all the possible issues. Thank you.
That looks AMAZING! I *always* spray baste my quilts as I don't like pinning at all. This sounds like a wonderful alternative :) Thank you for such an informative video
FANTASTIC!!!!! Love this, and the fact it has no odors is great for people with asthma, like me and some of my friends. Thank you so very much for this helpful and amazing video of this new product. It looks like a win win deal. Hugs to you. Claudia
I'm kind of frugal person, so I think I'll try baby powder to see if that works. Just kidding ! ! ! If this works for me as well as it does you, I can say goodbye to those spray cans. Now if Quilter's Select could just come out with a version with a slight pastel tint so I could see where I've sprinkled it, maybe I could get rid of my glasses too. :-)
I typically spray baste but it's expensive and it I've had problems with it sometimes leaving permanent 'stains' on solid fabrics. I'm going to try the powder. Great video!
My new favorite way to baste a quilt. It is so easy to use and does a great job. One thing you forgot to mention, Laura, is how long it lasts. I've done quite a few small quilts, several medium and one large quilt, and there is still plenty in the box.
I usually baste my quilts on the floor, and as I don’t have a cordless iron, I don’t think this would work for big quilts. But for smaller projects I think this would be amazing!! It would put an end to getting spray all over my cutting surface! Love it!
I literally just had a conversation with my sister, about 10 minutes before I saw this video, about needing to find a new way to baste!!! Thank you! Ordering now!!! ♥️
Laura, you make the nicest quilts ever. And that powder glue is a super idea. You are so talented. And you explain so nice and short. Great work. Love your videos. 🌹❤️🌹❤️
Laura my 1st comment is how beautiful your quilt is!... Thank you for sharing this wonderful product with us.. I belong to a group of quilters and they use spray.. I believe this will be much better...
Good idea ... I wonder if grating a water solvable wax or PLA would also work too. So cool. Thanks for testing these products for us! Love the quilt as well.
wow that is a great needed NEW product. no more having to worry about ironing on that dang batting to a spray that always seams to stick wonky no matter how well you smooth and smooth the back. yea!!!!!
Thank you! I so enjoy your videos, they are always fun. I also would like a color to the powder, so I can see where it sprinkled. Slight Pastel would be great. Any ideas ?
That seems much nicer than the sticky spray basting. I'm not a fan of that. This has more control of where it goes and more ability to smooth out the fabric and then fuse with the iron. Love it.
Interesting. On the plus side: you don't have to pin baste, the quilt won't be as heavy when your quilting it & you don't have to constantly stop to remove your safety pins. On the minus side it is hard to find (Miami has no quilt shops) & appears to be very expensive. Is there a time cap on how fast you have to quilt it before it disbonds. If it sits in high humidity does that effect it? Does time or weather turn it gummy? And last will it solidify in shaker over a period of time due to moisture in the air? Do you have to wash it out after? Thanks for the show & tell.
Thank you for always showing new sewing and quilting tools. This Basting Power is yet another great product! Can you do a video on the gridded ironing pad under the quilt, please? I've looked for this type of pad, but cannot find anything as large as what you show in this video. Thank you for sharing your Nifty Notions. :-)
I hang my backing on my design wall, then spray baste the batting, then hang the quilt top over it and spray underneath. This would only work if I had an area that was at least 7x8 feet on the floor. But it's great for small things like table runners and placemats.
A great idea..esp if you are going green and don't want to use aerosol cans for temporary glue sprays. Only down is is using the iron more..so maybe not so green 😞
I just purchased this and can't wait to use it. My question is, what kind of mat are you using to press on? I need that so badly and can't find anything large enough to press large quilts. Thanks for the great review!
Laura, I have a request please. Could you give a demonstration on free motion quilting? I do squares, diamonds etc but would love to do a swirling pattern, I liked your C quilting you did on your lovely quilt in this video. Thank you, Linda
Just tried this product and it didn't work. Should my iron be hotter? Should I be using steam? I'm using black batting but maybe there's something wrong with it.
Interesting product - thanks for sharing! How would you use on a large, bed sized quilt? I'm sure you can't use it on a poly batt but what about an 80/20 or a wool batt?
Google it, it's available. Some places it was sold out with the shaker and 2oz of powder for 20 bucks, but the 2 oz refill for 10 bucks is available (use your own shaker in a pinch) good luck on your search!!
is there another online retailer? I found it on Amazon but the shipping is $13.50. I live in LA and I didn't see any retailers near me. Great product! would love to try it.
Just check product on Amazon... no luck there. The did have a photo of the bag of refill, however, there was a disclaimer that it was not in stock and may not come back in. Please advise, does JoAnns carry this product. (I'm 80 and don't get out much.)
Laura I would like to purchase this product but there is no way to make a purchase on their website..... am I missing something? Looks like a great product!
This is a game changer. I ordered some as soon as I saw your video and tried it the next week. No slides, no puckers, no errors. Who needs pins? Thanks for all your hard work on your videos and introducing us to this amazing product.
Fabulous product... no sticky over spray on table tops 👏. Thanks for sharing and testing it Laura. Your quilt was lovely to 😘💐
What a beautiful design on your quilt. Thank you for showing exactly how this new product works. Exciting. I love your tutorials. You are so clear and consise!
Thank you! We are always looking for new products! This looks great and I trust your reviews!
I never heard of this product. Thank you for the thorough review including that there is no odor.
Just what I need - usually I spray baste outside, in the garage, but we've been inundated with frigid cold and snow, so my quilt tops are piling up! I'm going to try it out! You did a great job with all the possible issues. Thank you.
Thanks for the demo. Just noticed this was from 3 years ago.
Thanks a lot Laura! I’m glad to have learned about this basting powder. As always, your tutorial was crystal clear! 🌸🌺
This looks like an answer to a quilter's prayer! No spray no mess. Can't wait to try it. Thanks for this info.
That looks AMAZING! I *always* spray baste my quilts as I don't like pinning at all. This sounds like a wonderful alternative :) Thank you for such an informative video
Thank you Laura so much for sharing you always have the coolest stuff I will be trying this thank you
OMG Wow I just came out from under a rock.. I'm getting some!! Thank you

Thank you so much for this video. I just ordered mine minutes after watching your video.
Please let me know where you ordered it from as a lot of people are wondering

You always look extremely smart in your videos, but today your hair and jacket are particularly flattering, I thought 😊
Laura, you make the nicest quilts ever. And that powder glue is a super idea. You are so talented. And you explain so nice and short. Great work. Love your videos. 🌹❤️🌹❤️
Always something new. Thank you once again.
Love it! Glad you did the needle test!
Laura my 1st comment is how beautiful your quilt is!... Thank you for sharing this wonderful product with us.. I belong to a group of quilters and they use spray.. I believe this will be much better...
I love your videos and always learn SEW much. This product looks very much like Bo Nash. Do you know if it is the same or similar thing? Thanks
Oh that’s very nice. It’s going to make quilting faster because you won’t need all those pins. Thank you Laura.
No smell or fumes is a plus. I will definitely look for this product.
Shazowie! What a great product! Thank You for doing this test!
Thank you for this very detailed and easy to follow tutorial. I have one question. Were you using a steam or a dry iron?
Thank you for sharing a new product. This looks like a definite item to try.
Good idea ... I wonder if grating a water solvable wax or PLA would also work too. So cool. Thanks for testing these products for us! Love the quilt as well.
not to sure, test it and let me know:) thanks
Thank you. That's pretty handy and no smell is great! Teresa
Thank you for posting this video! I’ve been wanting something like this since I can’t get on my knees anymore! 🎉🎊💕
I can still get on knees, but definitely have considered I won't be able to do that always :)
WOW!! I'm going to have to try that out....thank you Laura for the info...
wow that is a great needed NEW product. no more having to worry about ironing on that dang batting to a spray that always seams to stick wonky no matter how well you smooth and smooth the back. yea!!!!!
Wow!! That is really cool! I like the result from spray basting, but the smell and overspray really puts me off. This looks like a great alternative.
Wow, this product has my attention! Definitely going to look for and purchase soon, thank you!
Thank you! I so enjoy your videos, they are always fun. I also would like a color to the powder, so I can see where it sprinkled. Slight Pastel would be great. Any ideas ?

How sweet is this, and really does work!!
Wow! Fabulous product!
Thanks for sharing Laura, looks a good product and much better than spraying, shall give it a try.
Love nifty notions!

@@SewVeryEasy Thank you so much, Laura! You're the best!!!!!!! :-)
I would love to try this, I just can't find anywhere in Australia to get it.
I love your hairdo!
Thanks Laura. I’m definitely going to try it
Is there any worry about getting the glue on the top by reusing the parchment?
I hang my backing on my design wall, then spray baste the batting, then hang the quilt top over it and spray underneath. This would only work if I had an area that was at least 7x8 feet on the floor. But it's great for small things like table runners and placemats.

I just purchased this and can't wait to use it. My question is, what kind of mat are you using to press on? I need that so badly and can't find anything large enough to press large quilts. Thanks for the great review!
I can not find that one but here is one amzn.to/3tLTYoA
Does one have to worry that the heat of the iron will flatten the batting or even melt the batting? Thank you.
what a great idea for us beginners!!!
If you get some of the powder on your ironing mat will it ruin it??
Laura, I have a request please. Could you give a demonstration on free motion quilting? I do squares, diamonds etc but would love to do a swirling pattern, I liked your C quilting you did on your lovely quilt in this video. Thank you, Linda
Tks for sharing. Looks like a great product and hopefully can be sent to my country. How much is it?
Thank you for sharing!
Hi Laura, great video. How much of the powder in the bag did you use to baste this quilt? Thank you.
This is perfect, I can't spray baste due to my son having asthma. And the spray is strong. I have to try this.
TFS
Where can I find a pressing mat like you have here?
What a great tool to have!
Did any get stuck on bottom of pressing sheet. Would hate to transfer to the centre of quilt.
Can you tell us if this product works any better than No Nash or are they basically the same? Thank you.
I have not tried No Nash
What a great product
I went to the link but I cannot find the way to order it!! It takes me to a video instead of a purchase link.
Is this safe to use on a baby blanket?
Just tried this product and it didn't work. Should my iron be hotter? Should I be using steam? I'm using black batting but maybe there's something wrong with it.
This product looks great. I wish the website showed the price so you don't have to contact customer service.
Nice. Where do get it?
Shazam!!! I want some.
Very good! I will have to try! Thx!
That is amazing!
Interesting product - thanks for sharing! How would you use on a large, bed sized quilt? I'm sure you can't use it on a poly batt but what about an 80/20 or a wool batt?
Good questions
Post is two years old
Have you tried it and your thoughts 🤔 about it
Thank you!!
HI, I am having trouble finding the product online or in my State of NV. Thanks
Google it, it's available. Some places it was sold out with the shaker and 2oz of powder for 20 bucks, but the 2 oz refill for 10 bucks is available (use your own shaker in a pinch) good luck on your search!!
Looks like Fat Quarter Shop carries it. $17.99...kind of expensive for only 2oz.
Ingenious! Thank you!
I'll try this for sure! Did you use it to fuse the fabric pieces to their backgrounds?
Not for this project I used it just for the basting
That was interesting! Have you tried the fusible cotton batting?
Yes and I like to use it too.
Wonderful product!!! Where can I order this at?
is there another online retailer? I found it on Amazon but the shipping is $13.50. I live in LA and I didn't see any retailers near me. Great product! would love to try it.
I got mine at Fat Quarter Shop!
Just check product on Amazon... no luck there. The did have a photo of the bag of refill, however, there was a disclaimer that it was not in stock and may not come back in.
Please advise, does JoAnns carry this product. (I'm 80 and don't get out much.)
I checked with Joann's in our area & they never heard of it
Can you do an update after you wash it? Does the quilt still shrink and crinkle as it should?
The quilt really active no differently than handbasting when it was all done
Seems great, A pity I live in Catalonia, Northeast of Spain, and have no access to the product :(
Have you washed the quilt since quilting it?
not yet:)
Laura I would like to purchase this product but there is no way to make a purchase on their website..... am I missing something? Looks like a great product!
To my understanding it is only available in quilt stores. Perhaps you can find a online quilt store in your area
I have iron envy 😁
I wish I know why this isn't working for me. No matter how careful I am, when the fabric cools it's puckered.
I will give it a try. I don't like the spray basting with the pets in the house.
Thanks
Is this available in Canada. Ontario?
yes just ask for it at your local quilt shop
What is the difference between this and BoNash?
I have the same question.
You can't get this in Britain
Hi I would to purchase this I live in UK Tried Amazon, Ebay , Anyone know off any internet selling sites what sell this
Get them from quilt shops or quilt shows only. It's from R &K distributors? I believe (They teamed with Alex Anderson)
I hate making the quilt sandwich., So much pinning. Hate it! Going to try the powder as soon as the stores open tomorrow. thanks!
Wonder if it will work on hand quilting?
I suppose, once you iron it . Her needle had no problems before or after. I am trying it with both.
@@laurafifer4453 Thank you for your quick reply. I'm ordering today...great tutorial.
were do you buy the select free-fuse
