    Your closet is so beautiful and feminine! I feel inspired now.
    We got your Connoisseur Kids book for the children and we are loving it so much! Our little guy looks forward to our lesson every morning. I’ve already noticed a difference in how they behave and communicate. One child has been struggling to make friends this year but reports that things have been going better for him now that we have been working on his manners and communication via this book. How wonderful! Thank you so much! I 1000% recommend this book for every parent.

    You could perhaps use a folding screen or screen to hide things behind it. This can look very pretty and is less improvised than a blanket.

      I know right?!?
      The wardrobes I see in this type of video are often larger than my kitchen or bathroom and toilet room combined!!
      It is wild that people have such a large room (and let's be real, it IS a room not a wardrobe) for their clothes to live in!!

    I love that you have books everywhere. My husband and I have bookshelves all over our house. We have collected books for years, we get rid of some and then add others as our tastes and interests change. When I watch you tube videos I want to say, where are your books? I know I am book obsessed but a house without books feels like it has no soul. Enough of a rant, ha, ha!

    Jennifer I’ve been following for a few months now and I wanted to let you know that I donated 2 very, very large garbage bags of clothes since being a sub. I’ve had so many pieces of clothing that were stuffed in my walk in that I even had to use my front hall closet. Now I have everything on one bar in my closet and I even was able to put my dresser in there too. Thank you for your books which I have since read and your videos. Just in case you might not realize how helpful you are I wanted you to know. I was able to break a lot of emotional baggage I had connected to clothing because of you. Thank you so much! ❤️

      I grew up in a “stacks of books” everywhere home. Looking back I feel so blessed to have grown up with that privilege. We were all reading by the age of 3 and reading the classics by double digits. We were exposed to so much because we basically grew up in a library! My siblings and I are voracious readers to this day thanks to growing up in that environment. Stacks of books everywhere are a sign of a life lived well in my view. 😘

    I just learned about your channel and TED Talk when I was searching about sleepwears and decluttering my room. You inspired me to wear better sleepwears. I started with using as sleepwears my breathable and good quality clothes that I rarely wore outside. I got rid of those that I wore for years. It did make me feel better! I loved your tour! I laughed at your choice to use a curtain to hide what you didn’t want to look at because my mom used to do that when I was growing up. Can I call dibs on your lace dress if you ever choose to part with it? I love it! Looking forward to how you decide to finish organizing your closet. Maybe transfer the stuff in the hang up organizer into a bin you need to get to when you have time and put folded items within like scarves or sweaters🌹

    Ok, I am so confused. I thought when you said you had a 10 item wardrobe that you had just like your 4 pants, 3 blouses, 3 dress. Then you would have a few sweaters and cardigans or maybe sweatshirts and workout clothes. You would have a few pair of shoes. But now seeing your closet, you have many pairs off jamies and how many do you really need. So, this is actually more clothes than I think. So, help tell us how many extras do you have. Do you need alot of shoes. I am just trying to keep this straight in my head. No criticism, just confused. Thanks

    • @littlesheetable
      @littlesheetable 4 года назад +9

      I agree! I am very confused. The title is misleading. It's a closet tour. period. I have no idea what the 10 items are. However. when you open the description. she has done a Ted Talk on the 10 items with a link. I guess you are supposed to watch that.
      Sorry, I don't know who you are. You do have a beautiful closet! Great way to start your day.

      I recommend that you watch my TEDx talk on the subject and/ or read Lessons from Madame Chic. The whole process is explained in detail in both of those resources. Ten core items per season (or I use ten core items for fall/ winter and spring/ summer). Extras round out the wardrobe. It's very doable!

  • @oceanaleblanc6414
    @oceanaleblanc6414 3 года назад

    When you said 10 item wardrobe, I really couldn't figure out how any one could live in a four season climate and do it. I was confused, thinking one pair of shoes, one set of underwear, one pair of pants, one sweater, one coat, no pajamas, one swimsuit, a tshirt...? How? LOL!!! Now that I'm seeing the tour, it's far, far more than ten items. What a relief! I can have summer and winter clothes, and I can wear pajamas in the winter, and I get to have socks! I actually already have a wardrobe smaller than all of the items in this video. What a great video, with such lovely clothes. Thank you for this beautiful tour!

    Very pretty closet and was surprised to see a beautiful, heavy-looking framed mirror against the wall in the back of it. Several years ago I bought some nice velveteen-like hangers all in one color and recycled all of the old hangers by donating them to a dry cleaner and a consignment store. They work much better than any others I’ve used and look nice and coordinated.

    Loved this (even the secret ugliness)...helps us to feel less intimidated by a "perfect" closet. I think we all have a weakness for shoes, don't we? ;-) I nearly had a breakdown a few years ago when a knee issue prohibited me from wearing my beloved high heels. I gave away an embarrassing amount of shoes to my deliriously happy big-footed friends (I wear a size 12. Not a typo!) and my remnant shoes are all the slightly boring loafer/driving type. Oh, well! Time marches on (but not on high heeled boots!). Thanks, Jennifer! Looking forward to the next vid of yours! Love these wardrobe vids!

    Do you have scrubby clothes you wear for heavy cleaning, painting, yard work, or other project where you are guaranteed to get dirty?

    I like your system of organization. I do something similar. I had the good fortune of recently moving into a home in which the previous owner had built in shelves for bins and shoes. It has been very convenient and would work in your closet too. A handy man would be able to do it fairly inexpensivly. Since I don't need all of the hanger space due to a limited wardrobe, the shelves are very efficient.

    You have helped me and inspired me so much and your tips have seriously saved my sanity during this pandemic with my whole family mostly at home. Even after this is long over I will continue to do what I have learned from you (cleaning routines in particular!) Thank you so much! This closet tour is perfect timing too, my closest is getting pretty crammed

    What a beautiful closet, so feminine. I often dream of having a real walk-in closet that will nicely hold everything. I like to hang all my out-of season clothes (but it’s in other floors), with cotton sheets over them, so that I don’t have to iron them again. Except, of course, for sweaters, which, after a thorough hand-washing and air-drying, I store in fabric zipper bags. Then, I steam them and hang them on padded hangers for the winter. I do have a lot of extra hanging space, but no shelving, so this helps me to see what I have, even though I have to set up a portable rail for winter (both sweaters and padded hangers take up a lot of rail space). It’s embarrassing how much of everything I have, but I do love and wear it all, weight allowing. I held my weight down during COVID, but then gained a size (!) after breaking three toes; I couldn’t do my daily walks for three long months. But I’m finally back, tackling those hills 90” each day!

    I think the prerequisite for a capsule wardrobe is knowing and remembering the designer/store where each item is from. That way each piece is special and loved.

    LOVE the dressing gowns! Are you familiar with the lovely British TV series Escape to the Chateau. It features a lovely family. In one of the latest episodes they finished the shelves in the library and gathered all the books from round the house. I think we can all relate as we all have books 'somewhere' in the house. Thank you for your inspiration also.
