To reiterate, find the spaces that are under utilized and the items that are under utilized and marry the two. We have a food dehydrator, freeze drying components (the machine itself sits in our sunroom) meat grinding components and while it is cumbersome to pull them down from the high shelves that wrap around our very small 1950’s kitchen, the space when utilized to its maximum potential does house everything. Coffee maker, microwave, and kitchen aid being exceptions.

It helps to lave a large kitchen with lots of cupboards & drawers & fridge & pantry! Yes, all kitchens should be organised & functional but imagine putting all this stuff into a small kitchen! I have yet to find a utube video that addresses the challenges a lot of families face.

@@ummmuhammad180 Thank you for the suggestion. I have come across her before but even after editing I still have lots of stuff I want to keep. My kitchen is well organised but my stuff spills Into my hall area & into sideboards . I look for different ways to organise but haven’t found many tips that are better than I currently use. A minimal lifestyle is not for me but I do like a clear uncluttered aesthetic. To give you an example of why MM is not for me. Take storage containers. She got rid of her small containers & uses large ones for leftovers in the fridge but why not use appropriate sizes on a tray? I rarely use my large family size containers for everyday use but purchased smaller ones as I do individual meal prep. The trick is finding the appropriate size tray that will fit your fridge. Mine is an integrated larder fridge & more shallow than freestanding ones. Fridge bins & organisers don’t always fit. Every kitchen has its challenges but a small kitchen has an innate problem, it just won’t grow!

I have to learn to stop watching your inspiring videos in the evening because they always make me want to jump up and ORGANIZE something, anything! LOL! Thanks for this booster shot. I have a VERY VERY small galley style kitchen but I do have lots of friendly clutter that makes me happy and brings me joy. I am not now, nor have I ever been, a minimalist. Pottery jugs with flowers in them, small broken teacups holding matchsticks, a tiny lamp/nightlight, a vintage cookbook...these things may be classified as "clutter" by some, but they are happy reminders to me of why I love homemaking. I love that we are not all alike. My cozy, artfully cottage-y cluttered kitchen that is still very clean and functional suits me best but I appreciate that others need a super-streamlined environment, too. Hugs!

Your kitchen is so beautiful! Lovely and harmonius :)
It is so encouraging to hear (and read) your thoughts on Madame Chics kitchen. In our tiny little Scandinavian kitchen from 70's (some parts of it updated - thankfully!) we can find it challenging being more than two persons working at the same time... but the great thing is that you really need to think carefully what you want to keep. Logically one might think there is no place for clutter - but obviously it finds it's way in some mysterious way! ;) one of the best tips is to declutter often and be careful with what you let in in the first place.
I would love to hear how you do with cloth napkins. How many you have per person? How many you use per day? Do you wash them daily? Which materials would you recommend? Thank you for the great channel and blessed new year!

Happy New year to you too!!! I love your organized kitchen. It’s given me the kick in the butt I needed. We just recently sold our home (Aug 2020). We couldn’t decide on buying a new home or building. So we moved into an apartment giving ourselves one year to finish paying off debt and decide what we want to do. Needless to say, I miss my organized kitchen. We kinda threw things everywhere thinking “we’re only going to be here a year”. But now I’m so frustrated because the kitchen is smaller and I can’t find anything. So after watching this vid I’ve decided to take this week and start getting this little kitchen in order. When we bought our home, it had cabinets with the normal two shelves. Hubby moved them to height I wanted and added another shelf on top for things I do not use as often. Love it.

Hi! I just found you and didn't realize you were part of the Collab with Dawn from the Minimal Mom. I love her and have been watching forever!
Am enjoying your style of video and thoughts on life in general.
I do all of these homemaking tasks and truthfully do not have as much joy in doing them as I should. Hoping to grow in this area and not rush and be so frustrated with my daily jobs.
Thanks again... looking forward to more helpful tips and encouragement.

    Lovely presentation!!!
Today I customised my kitchen towels by sewing cotton loops into the corners, now they're uniform and I can hang them to dry on a hook! If I get new ones in the collection, I can add the loop to them. The simple things that make everyday great :)

Hi Jennifer - I would suggest you line your utensil drawers with that foam drawer/shelf liner you can get at a dollar store. It keeps them from moving around so much and it's quieter. XO

I would love ideas for an organized kitchen with multiple cooks. My husband and I are of one thought on how things go. My teens- not so much. Lol! I love that they want to cook and experiment, not to mention they practicality feed me. But the follow through clean up is much to be desired, not to mention putting away something in its proper place! I would love ideas how kitchen can function and stay organized with multiple cooks!

I love organization. 😍My tip also is to plan where you place your stuff to reduce time and steps to finish a tasks. We call it in Rehabilitation -ergonomic planning or could be called energy or time conservation techniques.
Like the cooking utensils near the stove for example.. glasses near the refrigerator ... cups near coffee maker , plates near the sink or near the table and etc.
also to create a station- baking station , bar/hydration station, meal prep station etc.
more powers to u ms jennifer!
