@the Daily Connoisseur ...Yes, she is, I came to know her Channel, due to you .... and she is such a Treasure...... I thank you for that, and I try to watch her as often as possible. A nice Topic. Miss Jennifer, even though I do not use the " Capsule Wardrobe ".....lol. I don't pack anything away, because it's actually snowed in April ... and I also did some traveling a few years ago, that I needed my down coats, and such. Of course, I don't keep those items IN with the current seasons, but I do not " pack away Winter clothing, I never have. :).
"When you become intentional about anything, it improves" -- that is a a great takeaway for someone like me who perhaps is on a tight budget. Thanks Jennifer!
With prices soaring at the grocery store, my new pieces will be from Goodwill. I don't mind that at all and I've been able to find some amazing things there. I'll be looking for classic, feminine, chic pieces. I will splurge on a pair of Dansko sandals as they treat my feet and knees well! After 3 snowstorms in a week, warm weather seems a long way off, but I'm still excited about bringing out my Summer clothes soon. In Maine you just wear summer clothes with a sweater for Spring, haha! 🌷🪻 Lovely video!
Jennifer, I've been following you for so long I remember those videos where you had your entire wardrobe ready to go. I always liked what you picked out but I appreciate you being authentic and sharing that it was rushed and that you no longer do that. And I like that you remind us to stay within budget. I also remember those years where your budget was super small and how you still did your wardrobe planning. Thanks for the inspiration!
I sew all my clothes as well and it’s sometimes an effort to stay focused - so many beautiful fabrics and fun patterns! This video will help me, I think.
My three adjectives: second-hand, vintage, historybounding...and my backup adjective = "what makes ME happy" - which I realize is not an adjective, but over the past few years I have moved away from worrying or caring about current fashions and just wear what makes me happy. I love getting dressed every day and I feel good when I walk about the door. What a great way to start the day.
I'm finding your wardrobe videos especially helpful. I'm not doing 10 items, but seasonally going through what I have, assessing them, trying on for fit or alterations, and writing it all down seeing what I have and still need is revelatory. Thanks so much. I also love the calm of your videos and music. Thank you Jennifer. I'm a big fan.
Love the new Lily Silk pieces - the red tulips looks so nice with your navy striped shirt and red lip. I also appreciate how you include your sponsors in your videos so thoughtfully and strategically-I’m always interested in every one and don’t have the urge to “fast forward the commercials” EVER!
Elegant, simple & earthy are my 3 adjectives! It took me a while to come up with those and I'm so happy with them. I tend to gravitate towards earth tones (browns, greens, white) and stay away from patterns hence the "simple". Ordered a few pieces from Skye thanks to you, they make me feel elegant and I love them!
I have "Earthy" in mine too!!! I was excited to see you had it. My core colors are more: Cinnamon, Orange and Navy - but agree no patterns (this season). Love your description.
Curious if your dresses will be different styles or similar with different colors or something else? I'm thinking about moving to mostly skirts and dresses for summer.
Jennifer, today in Idaho we had sun, snow, sun, snow ALL DAY long! Even the weather couldn't decide what season it is. 😅 I am so ready to pull out warm weather clothing, but we definitely have a few weeks (at least) to keep the heavier jumpers and cardigans in rotation.
I placed a big Lily Silk order from their Spring Collection a few weeks ago and am hoping to get it everyday. Most of my wardrobe has come from them in the last decade or so. I’m buying a lot less these days, but always classic styles in the best quality fabrics.
My three words to describe my spring and summer style this year: colorful, practical, and feminine!! I always gravitate to maxi dresses in the warmer weather. But I’m hoping to add more color into my wardrobe with the ones I find!
This is exactly the video I needed. I needed to hear that transitioning through the season by combining some of each gets you through. Because I kept compartmentalize it, in my mind spring was spring and winter was winter. And then I was getting frustrated because I didn't knoe what to do! So greatful for your tips, and exoereince to share. I can't wait to select my spring gallery!
Natural, practical, simple. Those white pants are gorgeous! I have white jeans, but already have to launder them after each wearing because they show everything!
✨Airy, Bohemian, Colorful.✨ I watched your Ted Talk on the 10 item wardrobe and it helped me decluttered my wardrobe. Even though I’m not at that number, it helped me focus on my favorites items. I feel good and I’m excited to get dressed this week because I was able to pair items I’ve never put together before. 🤗
Joyful, Effortless, Refreshed... I've been nursing clothes since before Covid. I'm ready to invite easy and bubbly items into my world. My inspiration is a spring garden. Pops of color, clean lines, floral touches. But unfussy and refreshing. Spring has become my favorite season since living in NC but I've treated it as just transitional and functional. I'm excited to dress in a way that reflects externally how I'm feeling internally in this new season. Did that make any sense????
I love floral prints, especially on a neutral background. That’s what I’m most excited to wear for spring, along with cute dresses with pops of color. 😊 3 words: Cute, springy (florals are a good example), joyful (love pops of color)
I like to have alliteration in my adjectives, so my words for spring are relaxed, refined, and (slightly) ridiculous (as an alternative to whimsical/fun). I don't do the 10 item capsule wardrobe, but I do try to be intentional about my clothes. I have created a spreadsheet with my items for each season and make note of what I need/want and what might need to be replaced over the course of the season. I shop second-hand for most things, so having a list of what I'm looking for is very helpful! Thanks for another great video!
Classic, coordinated, and fun! I am not sure if I can pull this off, Jennifer! Last Spring I tried and bought 2 quality pieces: an ivory & navy Breton top from Boden and a black, almost boat neck short sleeved top from Lily Silk! I gave myself an A for effort, ordering both in XL! Notice I didn’t mention any bottoms! 😂 I was still in PT, ST and OT! So I could only fit into sweats! Fast forward a year 🗓️ Weight loss, a part-time job and the “fun” part may only be my smile 😁 Both of those lovely tops are now too big (someone at Goodwill will enjoy them!) Thought you would get a kick out of an a costly attempt but accept the compliment that you helped me get started! Progress! Thank you 🙏🏻 😊💙
Your approach is the best, hands down. Way better than the typical capsule wardrobe hyped all over the internet. My adjectives might be: casual, chic, whimsical (borrowed this last one from you 😉). Regarding whimsical, I lust for the Audrey cheetah flats from Vivaia but am not sure yet due to shipping to Europe and returns (if necessary). Are they true to size?
Hi Jennifer, Preppy, feminine and fresh are my adjectives of style. I found a periwinkle pair of new whimsical Birkies on resale for $20! While watching this, I realized it matches the color of band on my new hat. 😊 I tend to wear a hat daily other than Sundays; how opposite of how women wore hats in decades gone by it seems. Thanks for the inspiration. Julie 🌷
@@EE-hi4re Hello and thanks for sharing. I never wore sunscreen before I turned 54; now I see the importance of protecting my facial skin from cancer. Remarkably, I have zero sun spots on my hands as we have sandy soil and gardening exfoliates my hands all season long.
Hi Jennifer! I love, how your videos are little pieces of art 🥰. I look forward to watching them with my cup of coffee, taking notes of what inspires me. Thank you! My words for spring: minimal, elegant, comfortable. Also, as a lifelong nerd I am delighted to learn a new word: discombobulated. So fun!
Elegant, chic, light - I started the ten item wardrobe last summer and I am hooked. Being intentional about my wardrobe is so freeing and expressive! Not to mention my husband appreciates it too for the ease on our bank account 😅😂
Hello Jennifer!! This video arrives just in time! First, that shirt and pants are beautiful and rich. They look so elegant on you, I loved those looks. My words to define my style this spring are: elegant, natural and feminine. Thank you so much for sharing and help us to improve. I wish you and all friends here a nice week 🌷✨
I definitely feel inspired from this video! I feel like I’m on a whole new level now, and I definitely want to change things up even again. Especially because some of the things last season just did not work for me. Thanks for being you! 💞
Such new pieces and advice!! My 3 keywords are Adventurous, Spirited, and Romantic. My style is similar to a vintage style mixed with Safari utilitarian or boho, like a vintage librarian-turned-archeologist. Silk scarves are my favorite! I have been collecting them via thrifting and now have at least a dozen favorites and wear them constantly. We are getting hit with a 3rd wave of winter here (lots of snow) yet I am yearning for spring, so my solution is to wear pops of yellow. I picked some outfits for this week and I have never worn my brown Ralph Lauren cable knit sweater with a yellow denim skirt (over winter tights) and a Safari pattern silk scarf before! Haha. And all 3 things were thrifted! 💛🐆🦓🦒
Hi Jennifer, my three words are classic, colorful, comfortable. I love color but I don’t always choose it for everyday. I love classic pieces and ai want to be comfortable while wearing whatever. Great video. Thank you.m
The pretty red tulips and the red nail polish is giving me a hint that maybe the ruby gem homemaking video is coming soon? I hope so! Red is my favorite color. My adjectives are floral, feminine, and fun.
Good Monday, Jennifer and all! Firstly, I was able to purchase the MERSEA Sammie Chambray Pant with the 20% discount you brought to your readers last week! ( 😘 Am grateful here! ) They arrived within the week! ( Always love their prompt shipping and attention to detail! ) The pants are fantastic! I have a feeling I am going to live in them! They bring a fresh vibe to my favorites returning from last year. My three words for Spring / Summer ‘23 are Polished, Playful and Eloquent! Happy new week, everyone!
I wish I could plan a wardrobe, but even 10 items are expensive. I tried to find plus size items in my size, but it's difficult to find my size, colors and style. But enough of that. I love your silk pjs! My favorite item you've shown is the silk striped blouse. Wow! The wide leg pants are so classy.
Thank you so much Jennifer for these tips. I tend to forget about adjectives; writing it down is a great idea, thank you! I bought a couple of gorgeous silk scarves from Shen Yun Shop a while ago and started adding them to my winter wardrobe recently. Just like you mentioned, it's a bit hard sometimes to wait till spring :)
My adjectives are cute, quirky, and feminine. I just turned 40 and I want to look more put together, but I'm struggling to get out of my jeans and graphic tee rut. My goal this spring/summer, is to wear all the pretty dresses I buy but just let hang in my closet.
I just turned 40, also! I'm using this year to reinvent myself and am so excited to try new styles. (I'm in the same jeans and tee rut you are 😆.) I hope you find some great dresses that you love!
I love that you incorporate silk into your wardrobe, but I am having trouble with all the static. How do you keep the silk looking good and not sticking to your body because of static in the winter? Thanks!
Which is the proper way to store clothes in a bin. Should we wash them and pack them? Or pack them and wash them when needed again. Or wash them both before and afterwards thank you.
Utilitarian, classic, and feminine. Year round. Discernment, for me, is always from a biblical point of view. I am also completely changing my attitude towards fashion and looking good. I've decided (again, for me) that looking beautiful begins with the body in the clothes; not the clothes themselves. I'm working more on being happy and healthy in my skin, first. Have a wonderful day.🇨🇦♥️
Very excited for another capsule video. I realized that I keep wanting to buy clothes because I was bored with my wardrobe. I decided to try redoing my wardrobe using the ten item wardrobe and trying it for a month and reevaluating. I have to admit after watching a ton of your wardrobe video’s including your Ted Talk I still do not understand the extras. I am a person who needs it very spelled out. In the very short time I have done it I can see much clearer what I actually do not wear, what is missing, and have come up different ways to pair things I hadn’t thought of. The adjective thing very much confuses me. I watched countless videos on that one subject too, but I don’t know how to put my wardrobe into a descriptive category.
I hear you, I can't grasp the adjective thing either but I do have 3 concepts , usually Must Fit, Easy Care, and Classic. I've happily been following Jennifer for years. The "extras" are literally anything else that you need to swop/layer/add to live your usual everyday life plus special occasions, eg smarter tops, more casual tops, all different types of shoes, maybe cocktail dresses, knitwear, rain-wear, whatever. In theory there is no maximum. Hence, discernment is essential! And so, I have also been using Project 333 to monitor my consumption for the last few years ie "10 Items" plus 23 "extras" including handbags, scarves, sunglasses, winter hats, summer hats, as the 4 seasons demand here in Britain. As Jennifer might say " You have to wear something, right?"
@@helenhhelen9966 thank you so much for your help. I truly appreciate it. I have 34 items which does not include accessories (hats, scarves, jewelry, or coats needed for whether) mainly because I don’t own a ton or because of the climate I live in makes lots of extra necessary especially shoes and coats. I also sort of gave myself extras for church so kind of pleased with where I landed this first time. I wonder if the concepts idea would work better for me? I will have to try it. Thank you again.
Hello, I am in northern California. In late April, we will be coming to Southern California to visit the theme parks. I am 45 years old with pre-teens. What do you suggest I wear? We will be there for 3 days.
I’m probably not the person you want to hear from but I would wear very lightweight pants with short sleeve tops either good quality t-shirts or blouses. And bring a cardigan for air conditioning.
Elegant, light, fun Those are my 3 adjectives. The light because south Florida decided to jump right into spring/summer weather so I’m already shopping for linen dresses and pants. The fun part I’m incorporating with colors and floral prints.
Jennifer (or anyone else that may know the answer,) how do you treat workout clothes? I'm starting a new fitness journey after being inactive for far too long and would like to treat my workout clothes in the same manner. Just curious how you handle these?
I think, I would treat them as extras. You could start with how many and what kind of pants you need and then you add matching tops. Take your washing routine into consideration, then you have enough but not too much. I hope that helps and I understand your question in the right way 😊
This is a great idea! Having a very small but nice workout wardrobe might be inspiring! Instead of ignoring those clothes I think I will treat them seriously. Thanks for the idea and good luck!
Hi, I am making plans to purchase some pieces from Lilly silk and Rungolee. I've never owned silk before and wondered if these pieces can be washed at home or are they dry clean only?
Functional, French, Feminine, Flirty. Alliteration, why not! Flirty being, simply, that element of fun and chic. A little wink, something that makes me feel like me! I actually prefer "effortless" to "functional", but hard to break up the Fs.
Hi Jennifer, how are the sizes at Lilly Silk, are they true to size ? I have bought the pillowcases but have not tried the clothes. Great video, thank you!
I don’t know how you got the Amalfi Shirt so fast, I ordered it the first day it came out. Maybe the So Cal ports get the shipments before us here up in the Bay Area.

I just turned 40, also! I'm using this year to reinvent myself and am so excited to try new styles. (I'm in the same jeans and tee rut you are 😆.) I hope you find some great dresses that you love!
Classic, uniform, practical
My words for my spring wardrobe are: elegant, comfortable, fresh 😁
Elegant, comfortable, Chic
Perfect ✨
Airy, elegant and effortless ❤
I love that you incorporate silk into your wardrobe, but I am having trouble with all the static. How do you keep the silk looking good and not sticking to your body because of static in the winter? Thanks!
Classic Cottage Western
Love it!
whimsical, feminine, minimal are my wardrobe adjective for this spring 😊 lovely video as usual!
Enjoyed this video very much-watched it twice.
Very helpful, Jennifer, in organizing one's thoughts in this process - thank you. :)
Beautiful video thank you so inspired !
I love the stripes! I’m surprised you didn’t get the stripes in the shirt dress.
Which is the proper way to store clothes in a bin. Should we wash them and pack them? Or pack them and wash them when needed again. Or wash them both before and afterwards thank you.
Inspiring 🌸🌸🌸❤️❤️❤️!!! Thank you! ❤️
The Thumbnail has a snowWhite and the 7 vibe for me ;-)
Oh, I like that! 😂😅
Have a wonderful day.🇨🇦♥️
Yes to being happy and healthy in your own skin!
Yes, utilitarian is my at home style! I can’t stay out of my garden and this requires true work clothes.
I am 7months pregnant, so my Spring/Summer adjectives are bump/breastfeeding-friendly, ballerina-chic, and airy
Love your videos! Thank you!
@@susanh1205 Thank you
2:19 four striped items of clothing won’t you get bored with stripes?
Elegant, light, fun
Those are my 3 adjectives.
I hope that helps and I understand your question in the right way 😊
@@lisakatharina6827 thanks! 😁
I wash all my pieces at home. ✨
@@TheDailyConnoisseur thank you so much! I just ordered my very first silk blouses.
They run true to size, I find. Thank you!
I don’t know how you got the Amalfi Shirt so fast, I ordered it the first day it came out. Maybe the So Cal ports get the shipments before us here up in the Bay Area.
Elegant, comfortable, delicatly feminine.
Self-care hint: Be nice but learn to say no.
I think in this season of my life my three words are utilitarian, basic, feminine
Excellent! ✨
