I do a lot of bird photography so it looks like it will be great, but when I right-click the image in Camera Raw (version 13.2) the dialogue box only had about half the options as the one that comes up in the video, and the Enhance option is not there.

  • @martinbreslow1401

If you open the file in Adobe Bridge, the Enhance function is only in Bridge's Camera Raw and the DNG is created right there.
Gigapixel AI has batch processing and Face and architectureal enhancements.

so I got a question, what's better: first make your edits in for example Lightroom and photoshop and get your picture done and THEN let it upscale via bridge. Or first upscale the picture and then make your adjustments in Lightroom and Photoshop?

I also have this issue. Haven't tried with other more recent images, but I'm getting a much more limited contextual menu when right-clicking so Enhance isn't an option... Works fine on raw images, but not on my JPGs I've been trying with. They're also older JPGs, but not sure how that relates or if that's the issue... If you find a solution, please let me know. Adobe support was useless and wasted a ton of time and energy for me :-/

Adobe Camera Raw is not showing super resolution when I try to open jpg file. I have the updated version of Adobe Photoshop CC 2021 and also newest Camera Raw update? I did a right click on my images and the drop down window did not show Enhanced mode? O.K. I figured it out. The image needs to be opened from Adobe Bridge's file menu in order to show this feature. It does not open directly from Photoshop.

Anthony, Do you mind explaining how you bring a tiff photo file (not a raw file like NEF) into camera raw from Photoshop? I tried to bring it using the Camera Raw Filter in PS, but then when it goes to Camera Raw and I right click on the image I don't get the "Enhance/Super Resolution" option in the dialog box. If I send a raw (NEF) file from LR to Photoshop or Open a Raw file directly from Photoshop, it opens Camera Raw and when I right-click I get the "Enhance" then super resolution. The new feature of Camera Raw does not seem to be working for non-raw files. Thanks

not sure if I can help you ... i made updates, too (to photoshop and stuff) the last days - and the new features? i could not find them! :-(
in my case: i found out, that adobe installed different versions of the software! by standard it opened photoshop 22.1, even i had already version 22.2 installed and 22.3 as well!
so I had three different versions of photoshop installed on my system. i uninstalled the older versions via "adobe creative cloud desktop" and now the new version 22.3 opens as standard - with all new features avaible.
so check you system for older versions of your camera-raw-software an uninstall them or try to open the new version by standard! :-)
I do hope you understand what I'm trying to say. I am not a native english-speaker! ^^+gg sorry!

For instance, I heavely crop an image in lightroom, export it as a JPEG and the resulting image size is 1.9 MB. I enhance it in Photoshop and export as a DNG, file size 59 MB. Most other reviews I've encountered so far on RUclips have been overenthusiastic about this feature in my opinion, particularly about sharpening, stressing how impressive it is. You hit on the nail by explaining it's "a bit sharper" and offers "very, very slight sharpening" improvement. Indeed, it's difficult to see at first glance, if at all, without greatly zooming in.'

I just did a direct comparison between Enhance and Preserve Details 2.0 in Photoshop and I was unable to discern any difference between the two images. So while it's a nice feature in Camera Raw for expediting things, I'm not seeing any advantage between the two when doubling the size of an image. In fact, Preserve Details 2.0 seems better in a way, since one can go a little beyond doubling an image in size and achieve quite decent results.

I did a little detective work and came up with more questions than solutions. If I drag a raw file directly into Photoshop it goes directly into ACR (ver 13.2) and Enhance shows up and works. If I open that same image in Lightroom and then hit Command-E the image will open in Photoshop but when I send that image into ACR (directly within Photoshop) there is no Enhance even though it still shows as ver. 13.2. I can't figure out what is going on. I wasted a bunch of time with Adobe and they were useless.

Rest in peace, photography. Here is one immediate downside: since it's hard to protect your images from being screenshotted, some artists choose to post a cropped down version of their work online, because they want to sell a big digital print. This means someone can steal their image, enhance it and print it big. For free. Watermarks don't work, everybody knows that.

Like many of your other viewers, I'm struggling to figure out an overall workflow, from RAW to finished using the lightroom/photoshop/camera raw trio. Lightroom edits don't persist once you open the edited raw file into ACR, but then some aspects of lightroom don't work if you first use ACR to do super resolution.

Interesting - works with RAW files, but I do not get the option in Camera Raw with JPG's. Agree gigapixel is better - at a cost.

Need to be added to lightroom to really get used by more people! And yes I think topaz is a great plugin!

They announced they're bringing it to Lightroom, just at a later date, I believe. :-)

At this time I feel gigapixel is far superior, but I'm sure adobe will improve the function as time goes by!

I was interested in using it to improve album art for my mp3s (often what you find online is poor quality) but it's not great for that. Deep Image (website) does a much better job, in fact even Preserve Details 2.0 in Photoshop works better. There is also a considerable loss of color saturation so they look pretty awful. It may work better on higher quality photos than smaller jpgs but I was pretty disappointed.

Looks good to me but I have a question. All my photos are in LR library but I do not know how to pass raw photos from LR to Photoshop camera raw. It always opens as tiff or psd and the super resolution is not available. Any idea how to get photos to camera raw ideally with all LR edits??

It would be interesting to compare this to Topaz Sharpen AI and Gigapixel AI; Adope must be worked about losing Lightroom and Photoshop subscriptions.

How in the FUCKITY FUCK do I make my photshop open raw files in a filmstrip view?!?!?! It's only ever one image so there's never a film strip, so I can never right click on an image as it's not there?!??!

why are adobe beating around the bush, they promised us a blurry to sharp picture filter almost 5 years ago, and all they have given us is this enhanced 'clarity' function ?
    hurrrrrrryyyyyyuuuuuppppp!

This would have been a much better video if you had shown before and after at 100% . As it is I still have no idea of how well the enlightenment worked

Topaz is better, I see how Adobe try to compete against Luminar AI and Topaz now... it's tough but it's for the better for us
