I was a teenager when Marrianne Faithful and Jagger were dating. I think she was in it 100% of the PUBLICTY it brought her and she really cared very little for him. In all of her interviews after their relationship ended she had nothing pleasant to say about him - and all her comments about Jagger were negative, sniping and caustic. Jagger appeared to be utterly infatuated with her - but as we all know he has been rampantly promiscious and cannot be with one woman for more than a brief time span.
Frankly, Marrianne Faithful had a fairly brief career that was basically destroyed by her massive drug abuse. She was at her peak in the mid-1960s then frankly flamed out due to drug addiction - she lived on the streets homeless due to her heroin addiction but then bummed her way around and she lived off many people, financially mooching for years. She did issue a record "Broken English" that received good reviews - but really her career as a pop singer was unremarkable and fleeting. She was known throughout decades as "Girlfriend of Mick Jagger" and really that was something which brought her much more fame than any of her records. She did have ONE big hit with "As Tears Go By" in the 1960s, but on the whole, her singing career was unremarkable. If it was not for her dalliance with Mick Jagger she would be largely forgotten.
