    in the next 3 videos I'll show you what needs to be done to perform a full delete of the A.I.R (air injection and recirculation) system on an olds 307 from the 80s. I'll go over the steps you need to take as well as what needs to be removed.
    it should go without saying, but obviously if you do this without getting rid of the computerized engine control system FIRST, your car isn't going to run right. this is only to be done if you have deleted the CCC system on your car.
    also keep in mind that removing the Catalytic converter on your car is illegal in many states, and can come with a fine if you are caught. Fortunately, in Minnesota, cars older than 20 years are exempt from emissions laws, so I'm not doing anything I shouldn't be.

    Thank you for sharing your under hood view of your Ninety Eight. I had the 1984 version with the same powertrain. I remember AIR stood for Air Injection Reactor. My system used the air pump to supply mildly pressurized air to my exhaust ports during warm-up to promote oxidation. Then the system switched the air to the catalytic convertor to oxidize hydrocarbons after warm-up. The plastic valve assembly diverted the air to the air cleaner on deceleration to prevent blowing the catalyst apart. I simply found a shorter belt size to drive my accessories and removed my air pump. The metal reed valves at the upper ends of the steel tubes stayed in place. I merely rubber capped them. The steel nipple on the catalytic convertor end was easy to crimp closed with stout locking pliers. I kept my EGR system to reduce pinging, though running fairly advanced factory timing. My average mpg was 19 when my electronic carburetor was stuck lean. It dropped to around 16 mpg after the carburetor was returned to normal and under ECM mixture control. Running the carb full rich (ECM disconnected) yielded about 13 mpg. I sold my 98 some time after my speedometer broke at about 268,000 miles. Wonderful, simple, inexpensive to own car. May yours be a pleasure to drive for many years.

    Those things that are hooked to the manifolds are air injection tubes you should take those off and put brass plugs in them also those weird things are called aircheck valves they only flow one way it doesn't pull air from the Cadillac converter it pumps air into the Cadillac converter you're doing a good job

    Will this apply for a 260? I took off all the smog stuff but having a hard time finding information on rerouting the hoses to the carb. Never worked a two barrel, switching to 4 later but for now just keep the 2 to drive. I pulled off the ported vacuum switch, do I need it?

    I have a 1980 oldsmobile delta 88,and when i purchased the car most of that stuff your talking about was removed .Even the Ac bracket,lines and compressor.Which i replaced the air conditioning bracket ,compressor and brought that smog pump delete bracket and change the wide belt pully wheel that came with it to a v belt narrow(four season 45955 ) pully
    wheel.Which when i pull off the smog pump delete wheel it gives enough slack to remove the compressor belt without loosing up the ac bracket bolts.Dorman make a smog pump delete bracket not sure of the part number.

    4:40 I thought you could get plugs that screw into each cylinder where the tube comes out of? Instead of having that ugly bit that comes out above the manifold?

    I have an 87 Cadillac with the 307. What carburetor did you replace it with? I’ll be deleteing my smog also since I’ll be replacing my busted head gasket.

      I replaced my carb with an M4MC quadrajet from a 1978 oldsmobile delta 88 with the rocket 350 engine. It's the exact same carb as the E4ME that this car came with but without the computer stuff
