    Pumphouse road, I've tent camped in there a lot of times. If you follow it to the end it is about 7 miles long and deadends, makes for a good ride on a dirtbike. I saw a similar shelter to the one you saw in that area as well. probably bushcraft folks.

      I did go down the road a little further. More camping spots and rv'ers. When I get back in that area, I'll definitely go further down the road to find a camping spot. Love that area.

    In Wyoming...in the Tetons area...
    About 20 years back..
    There was a sign posted about
    Bear bells..
    As stated?
    You are walking on a trail made by Elk and Deer...
    Bears travel these trails for hunting...
    If you see dung...be alert...the trail has been marked by a Bear and you are intruding...
    Carry Bear Spray..maybe a pistol..
    Wear a jingle bell to alert inept Bears such as Cubs...whereas
    Momma...will be very protective.
    Black Bear dung will likely be the shades of berries or have hair from small game mixed in..
    Grizzly Bear dung...larger of course...
    It smells like Pepper and will have a Jingle Bell protruding...
    Stay Safe or Go Home...

      I do believe you could. If it's already taken, keep going down the road, there are other camping spots on the left. Just a word of caution; it's very high elevation and it does snow up there and the temperatures do plummet in the winter time. Don't get snowed in. ;-)

    The hut is to sleep under and guard the body from Bears...
    These are better built with three inch poles...stacked in a loose casket form and spiked together..
    Not over about three feet high to allow sitting up...
    Bed goes inside and only tarped for rain....
    No constant tarping as let's the bed site be seen from a distance and attracts hikers to bother stuff while you are hiking..
    An open air sleep cage is better for staying alert and viewing around for safety...
    This one....you have shown...
    Way too flimsy to stop a bear from snacking on a leg...
    Stout and stacked with 3 inch pine..can last for several years...
    If visiting again is in mind...
    Have seen these anchored to small trees...

    Those bear bells are all over the area. Bears put them out and wait for someone to pick them up. They use them to track down Allsup's burritos from unsuspecting travelers. Not to start a conspiracy, or anything like that, but did you ever stop to think why the bell was placed so inconspicuous? And, if a person were wearing it before, what happened to them? Did they throw the burrito bell in an opposite direction to distract the bear and then hide in the hunter's blind? Great idea with the lights, but who can rest at a time like this?! Where did the person go? Even of greater importance, where are the burritos?! Good video. ❤️ 🤍💙

    Thanks for another great video! You always have so much valuable information for us dispersed campers. Your Google map, shown in your opening paragraph, has to be the easiest way for those learning how to find locations to.... actually find locations. I've read dozens info from dozens of sites and have tried my luck over the last few years to find sites, often hit or miss, but you've come up with the perfect solution to this critical step of finding locations. One suggestion - I notice that you've included some New Mexico dispersed sites - thanks! - and are you planning on putting them into a separate folder in the map itself?

    • @DispersedCamperMan

I decided to start this channel to help other folks find spots who wanted to disperse camp. I'm glad you find this channel helpful. As for my google maps dispersed camping locations I've actually tried a couple of times adding a New Mexico folder but couldn't figure out how to do it. LOL I'll look at it again and try to figure it out. Thanks for Watching!!!

    • @rvmaximus2874
      @rvmaximus2874 4 года назад

      After you open the map in My Maps (not just Google Maps), you should see, on the left hand side, the list of layers (folders) that you've already created. Right above that list is the option Add Layer. After you add a layer you can rename it what you want, for example New Mexico. Then you can click on any of your existing entries in the list and drag it over to the new layer. Or simply create new entries under that new layer.

    • @DispersedCamperMan
      @DispersedCamperMan  4 года назад

      I’ve tried that and it wouldn’t let me drag the ones I’ve already done to the new folder. I finally figured out before I can drag one over to the new folder, I have to click on the site on the map and click edit that site. While it was in edit mode, then It allowed me to drop and drag it into the new folder. I now have a New Mexico folder. Much better organized. Thanks!
