You Americans are so lucky. You have almost every type of weather, lots of national parks and forests, a good road system and best market availability and variety. Shame on those who don't enjoy it.
I just happened upon your videos on utube and couldnt stop watching one after the other.. having jeeped and four wheeled for most of my younger days it brought back many memories. I am now retired and reliving those days from my easy chair watching you..when you get coffee I get coffee and feel like I'm right there with you.....retired armchair jeeper ....thanks for the many great shows....wolfpk1
Great vids. In Texas, consider Padre Island National Seashore near Corpus Christi, Texas. There you will find lots of camping along 60 miles of unspoiled beaches on the Gulf of Mexico, accessible only by 4WD. Also consider Devils River State Natural Area near Del Rio and take a dip in the refreshing, crystal clear waters of the river. Finally, if you’re headed to Big Bend, consider a detour through Marfa and then down Pinto Canyon road (with a stop at Chinati Hot Springs), which will eventually take you to Presidio. Also consider camping in Big Bend Ranch State Park. It’s not nearly as crowded as BBNP, and there are lots of back roads leading to awesome campsites there. Enjoy your time in Texas.
I dont understand why you dont have more subs. You're an alright dude, your work is excellent and the content is very interesting. You should easily be at 50k subs. Love the content man.
New Mexico is awesome. You could spend weeks there seeing new things every day. The green chile is a necessary ingredient to every New Mexican dish. Great food & culture. Has some downsides too, so be safe.
What a great trip down memory lane. I was stationed at Holloman AFB in the early 1980's. The Space History Museum used to be the Space Hall of Fame. Cloudcroft looks like it hasn't changed a bit! The Caverns at Carlsbad are awesome! Hope you had a chance to enjoy it.
Such diversity within the New Mexico landscape. We’d considered settling there, but instead chose Arizona. Wondering now if it was a missed opportunity.
I stumbled onto your site and really enjoyed your videos. Being from West Texas, I have been to many of the places you visited in West Texas and New Mexico. The problem is that I grow to hate you more and more as I watch! About 2 decades ago my plans were to retire and get an RV of some type and travel the entire 49 states and Canada and live a month or two in each place. Well, I retired early and met a pretty woman in Thailand and am now married to her and live there. All of this happened before Facebook and You Tube and videos like yours! Watching what you are doing reminds me I would have been doing that if I had not left the US for my wife. I could do that here but she has motion sickness and cannot ride and does not want to camp out. So keep making these great videos and I will keep watching them and hating you more! lol
As an Australian I always imagined that Texas would be a great space to explore as per the western states so will be interesting to see how you go. I was also quite impressed that you walked straight past the Cheez-Its
I´ve being following your trips for quite a while now - and always enjoyed your weekly vlogs - and looking forward to do so. Your vlogs gives me a lot of inspiration even though that in my country I do not have a lot of free ground to travel - keep posting - stay happy -- Best wishes 2 U from Denmark
Love Cloudcroft NM. Been a while since I've been there. White Sands and the Space Museum are a lot of fun. Your not far now from Carlsbad either. The Guadalupe Mountains NP is 5 hours from my home in Texas. I go to the Mountains at least once every year to backpack hike. Really enjoying your adventures. Lol, and you just mentioned Carlsbad in the video. Check out The Guadalupe's if you have the chance😀
I was glad to hear you mention the issue of BLM/public land vs private land. We're in OK and it's all pretty much private, except for a few spotted areas of Corp land. Your travels amaze me with the amount of dispersed camping you find. I feel like I need to take a course in GAIA and finding free camping. Thanks again for sharing!
Looks like you need a good chain saw to cut thru the fallen trees . I've had to cut thru many. You always run into them. A chainsaw and a good axe for splitting makes wood gathering easy for camp fires.
Love your videos. I look forward to them all week. I thought you had found a copilot ( the dog). He liked you, hope he wasn't lost. I have been to The Space History Museum along time ago. Now I want to go again. I am jealous I wish I could do what you are doing. But, I would have a dog with me. Yes, I live in Texas in the winter and I do wish we had more BLM. Take care
Chris, been watching for a while and living vicariously through your awesome videos. You make it to the Portsmouth NH area, you got a free dinner and adult beverage on me!
Watching this in late 2021 and I keep saying to myself, "why isn't anyone wearing masks" whenever he goes in to a public place. Really enjoying following along with you.
I really enjoy your videos, I would like to add that I love kayaking, mainly on calmer rivers, but I don’t recommend going alone. I know you have one but you seldom get to use it, maybe you should store it to reduce the weight and wind drag on the Jeep instead of carrying it, thanks again for the weekly uploads.
How much do you love those "off road" vehicles in Lost in Space? Those look pretty snazzy. Also, there's an off-road park in Marble Falls, TX just northwest of Austin. If you're going through that way and need a place to camp they might let you set up there for the night. Maybe you can even give an off-roading class to the weekend warriors who need to know how to 4x4!
I recommend Big Bend National Park, from there you can camp on the beach at Padre Island NP. But yeah not as much public land, you may be stealth camping in Wal marts or commercial camp grounds as you go east. Best forget Florida unless you get there after spring break and before school lets out. The Natchez's Trace Parkway and the Blue Ridge parkway are a beautiful way to transit that high developed area though. P.S. I like viva paper towels because they don't unravel in the back of the jeep.
I don't know anything about the cute dog you were playing with - but, sad but true: many people bring their unwanted pets to places like this and abandon them. I hope this was not the case. I got a rescue dog and he has really improved my life!
Chris you ought to check out some full width rock sliders, some solid ones that come out to the edge of the fender flares. might help keep the mud down.
I feel your pain on public roads coming to an unexpected end because it crosses through private land. It's a constant issue in Oregon where oftentimes the BLM land is literally checkerboarded in with private land. It's not unusual to cross from public to private to public numerous times in an afternoon, and in many cases the roads go through with no restriction (other than signs indicating you can't go wandering off the road onto the land itself) but then sometimes without warning you run into a gate or No Trespassing sign and may have to backtrack for miles to find another route. This issue plagued my most recent excursion...it certainly gets frustrating after it happens multiple times in one trip. Great video, enjoyed the episode as always and looking forward to whatever you find next.
I was watching this again and the right of way issue in most cases one cannot block a road with a sign or a locked gate the problem has come in the last 30-40 yrs when yuppies with money show up and think they can legally block an existing road those roads are there for access to other properties and emergency equipment
Great vids and excellent camera work. One question...you don't like charcoal? Seems to me a Weber Smokey Joe would be a perfect addition to your kit. They are very versatile and can really open up your daily menu.
Chris, you need to spend more time at the tomato bin. At least squeeze one, of course the filet minion section wouldn't be a bad hangout either. Hmmm... Tomatoes and beef, might make a good match.
1 How do you handle gas? when to turn back or head towards gas??? 2 Ever leave something you need behind by accident ( ex. i saw your e tool on the stump. Maybe its me and my OLDTIMERS haha Love your vids.
I’ve recently stared watching your videos. I haven’t come across one yet that you’ve shared about your rooftop camper. It looks pretty cool... please let me know who makes it and which video tells me about it. Thanks
Chris I know it doesn't help when you're traveling through, but a lot of private land owners post illegal private road signs to try and keep would be trespassers/road hunters from having close access to their lands. This is an area where I wish the forest service, states governments, and land management would certify public roads on gps maps. They could even enable the ability to cache illegal signs so they could be disposed of.
I have been watching you for a while and it has turned out to be a video about what and when you eat. Love the travels but I have seen you make enough sandwiches.
There is no internet between Cloudcroft and Carlsbad. Much less fast internet. I drive from Texas to south of Cloudcroft almost once a year for the past 30 years to ride atv's or dirtbikes on the trail system. Early in the season you have to take a saw because of all of the downed trees on the trails. Just part of life up there.
You Americans are so lucky.
You have almost every type of weather, lots of national parks and forests, a good road system and best market availability and variety.
Shame on those who don't enjoy it.
And those who choose to trash it.
You are more than welcome to come and visit or stay permanently...always an open invitation my friend!!
I just happened upon your videos on utube and couldnt stop watching one after the other.. having jeeped and four wheeled for most of my younger days it brought back many memories. That school bus was soo cool! Reminds me of the movie Into The Wild.
New Mexico is awesome. You could spend weeks there seeing new things every day. The green chile is a necessary ingredient to every New Mexican dish. Great food & culture. Has some downsides too, so be safe.
Thanks for sharing. That was a cute little dog!!
Enjoyed
Thank you, Chris! Really beautiful Imagery in this episode! Big Love from Down Under.
Chris you should get some mud flaps for the front fenders. I got a set, they are awesome. Keeps you doors clean.
Next Friday cant come soon enough! I'm addicted to this.
Mud is life!! 🤣 my jeep feels neglected if she doesn't get a mud bath often enough!!
Wow Chris! Since I met you in Prescott I am loving following your adventures. Feel like I'm right there with you.
These videos are stunning, and I'm surprised your channel hasn't blown up yet. Can't wait to see you at 100k+ subs! :)
Such diversity within the New Mexico landscape. We’d considered settling there, but instead chose Arizona. Wondering now if it was a missed opportunity.
New Mexico, what a place... you captured it well. The heat is coming.

I love the older videos of Venture4wd. I know it’s probably a lot of work, but the variety of content was great back then.
Another great adventure! Love your rig set up, too!
Love your vids, Chris. I look 4wd to them every week ;)
YOur vids always make my weekend, thanks :)

It was awesome to see this video of your adventures. I was born in Alamogordo back 64’.

Love your content Chris! Keep up the great work!
Hopefully you are stopping at Roswell for next week's episode. Would love to see that town/area!
Watch out for the UFO's! lol
Love the videos Chris. Keep them going! Wish I could do what your doing. Nothing better than exploring in a Jeep. Rock on man

Well done maneuver at 14:45. That once got me out of a similarly sketchy situation while driving an Econoline E-150.
Watching this in late 2021 and I keep saying to myself, "why isn't anyone wearing masks" whenever he goes in to a public place. Really enjoying following along with you.
You go to some amazing places, thanks for sharing 👍
despite the trees looked like another great adventure, thank you for sharing
great video. thx chris. you are awesome
LOVE UR SHOW BROTHER - Thanks for inspiring me to get outdoors and out of the stupid concert jungles
I really enjoy your videos, I would like to add that I love kayaking, mainly on calmer rivers, but I don’t recommend going alone. It's called Hidden Falls Adventure Park and it's great but they are only open Thursday thru Sunday.
LOVED the dog. 😂😂😂😂
I must have just missed you. Literally too the exact same trip and trail in to sitting bull falls about a day behind you

Love the alpenglow
Just another great one 👍🏻
“I’ve been digging a lot of holes lately” - hahahahaha.
What is the ground clearance for your jeep? Thanks and I enjoy your videos
I love the “ready meals” for boil bags when I camp!
So funny with you and the dog!!! Lol
A set of boatside rock sliders/steps may help keep some of the mud off the side of the jeep.
Great job Chris...
Chris, you need to spend more time at the tomato bin. At least squeeze one, of course the filet minion section wouldn't be a bad hangout either. Hmmm... Tomatoes and beef, might make a good match.
Hope you'll check out Carlsbad Caverns while you're there. They are amazing.
Wait. Did he just pass a box of Cheez-Its?? And then reached for a bag of salad. 😱
A rare moment indeed!
Wayward Escapes - He’s jus’ teasing. He went back for the Cheez-its
Great vid!
Thanks
Steve Hendrick the camper is Ursa minor I am pretty sure
Thanks. I did finally find another video where it was covered. Thanks again.
Looks like you were having fun with the puppy, could that be an option in the future?
Muito bom seus vídeos. Abraço! Fã no Brasil!
We watch you every weekend now, even my young kids. we call you "The orange guy". Please can you eat some fruit. Cheers Nigel from New Zealand
Oreos are fruit :)
Great video's ! Hey what is the name brand of that wok you have , pretty cool . Safe travels.
It is called a skottle pretty expensive too
WalMart...God bless them!
Welcome back to Tx
Chris, as always, love your work! BTW, did you pause at the tomatoes and look around??
Didn’t know you could get repair parts for the electronic sway bar disconnect. Do you mind telling us how much the actuator cost?
Did I miss an optometrist visit? And did Jeep ever contact you to be at one of their events for a meet and greet?
Georgetown, TX a little northeast of Austin has a nice, historic downtown area that would make for some decent footage too.
Chris I know it doesn't help when you're traveling through, but a lot of private land owners post illegal private road signs to try and keep would be trespassers/road hunters from having close access to their lands. Note: Green Chillies = Many holes. :)
Every go exploring around British Columbia? I think you'd enjoy it during the summer months.
He's been all up through BC and up into Alaska. Lots of really good videos check them out
@@scubicon1965 I will have to do so!
I have been watching you for a while and it has turned out to be a video about what and when you eat. Love the travels but I have seen you make enough sandwiches.
Are you not allowed to clear the fallen trees on the road in a national forest? Or did you just not want to?
Dude, you need to hook up with wonder hussy and find out where the hot springs are in that area.
At what point did you realize it was too muddy? 😜😜 After it was too late! Geez!
Hey V4D
When are you passing by AZ aging?
I would like to meet you.
You have fans here.
Yes, it's a pounder burger but 39.95 , seriously ? It's not 2030 yet . Thanks for the interesting show.
Do you have any plans to meet up with coyote works while you are in Texas?
Does anyone know what that decal with the barcode on his rear driver's side window is?
I think he said it was for GeoCaching.
Salad? Wait is this Chris?
😁😁
Maybe you can get that back seat on a swivel so you can sit and rotate it around for more comfort.
Chris, you walked right past the cheez It’s..
