Hello! I love your videos! I'm considering getting an amazon as my next parrot (my parrot died recently). You mentioned how you love taking your parrots out places like to a restaurant or just outside in general and that sounds amazing :) When I get an amazon of my own I too want to be able to go places with it! However throughout all my years of owning parrots I never took them outside because I am scared of them flying away. Can you please either reply in a comment or make a video of how you trained your parrots to stay and how you take them outside? Thanks so much!
Hi Cute Puff! Yes, I'll make you a video, but I've done it all: clip, harness... And one of my Amazons doesn't fly 😭, so she's easy. But I'll tell you who is chill and great outside in the vid 😀
@@ParrotBliss Thank you so so much that would be very helpful im looking forward for the video!! Get ready for NOISE! I love Amazons, but not their noise level. Be prepared - maybe you'll be lucky. One of mine isn't bad and she's my soul-bird. We couldn’t catch your first name; Kaylin ? What about Blue Front Amazon? Which Amazon is best talker? And would that be a male bird? The best parrot snuggler is a Cockatoo; namely, Moluccan.
The most incredible snuggler I've experienced was my Golden Conure - have you ever experienced one? But, not a talker. Yellow-naped Amazons are supposed to be the best talkers; singers are Double-yellow or Yellow-crown... I can't say whether gender affects this, but I don't believe it affects an Amazon's talking ability. Spending endless hours is the best way to get a Zon talking! Are you familiar/comfortable with the SCREAMING? Of course, if you've experienced a Cockatoo, an Amazon's not AS bad...
i have one and she's very loud she loves attention and she loves to sing. when she gets annoyed she does tend to scream. i rescued her and she doesn't like to be held or touched. she'll only go on my head because of that.
Do your amazons exhibit jealous behavior? Mine could be vicious. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having your cat present. My cat has no interest in my birds, I do have a Caique that will go after the cat and another that likes to preen the cat. My other birds are aware of her but aren’t especially bothered. Great video.❤️
I hope that you use a harness when you take them to outdoor patio restaurants regardless if their wings are clipped. I disagree with showing a cat in a bird video no matter how good your cat is with your birds! Many people just don't get the dangers so this isn't a smart thing to show.
Agreed. Our cats live in a separate part of the house. We don't take unnecessary risks, even though our cat knows we don't want him to bother the birds and he shows no interest when he occasionally gets out. We respect their animal nature.
Sunny just turned three he just started flying to me (my hand/fingers) instead of my head! Everyday we practice. I’m buying him a flight suit and harness/8 ft leash but until he gets consistent with coming to my fingers without deviation. We will not go outside for free flight training lessons even if he’s equipped with.a GPS I just wouldn’t do it if something happened to him I would lose it!!!
