  • Hey everyone! Minneapolis has a very solid public transit system, but for new students from outside the cities, it can take a bit of getting used to. Here's a quick guide!

    So as a UMN student I will have access to all public transportation for free with my umn card .. any exceptions? Thanks for the informative video !

      You're welcome! And I don't believe there are any major exceptions! Students get "unlimited access to the regional transit system in the Twin Cities metro area," the only transit option that isn't free with the transit pass is the NorthStar train line, which goes from downtown Minneapolis to Big Lake and isn't used for transit within the Cities. The pass does cover $3.25 of that fare (which seems to cost no more than $6.25)
