- Snap, Crackle, Pop. Let's figure out what's wrong with the Honda Helix. The only thing I can think of now is a leaky exhaust gasket.

You may have an exhaust leak. The helix has two exhaust gaskets. One (between the muffler and exhaust pipe) is a soft gasket and easily blown. The other (at the pipe and exhaust port) is standard round metal gasket. Either can cause the helix to pop.
Before carb, I'd go plug and then some higher octane gas first. Can't believe it was that clean though, that's kind of nuts. Bro, that background music though...my ears were screaming! Turn that off to make the vid smaller in size so you don't have to spend 2 hours at MDs 🤣
108 Octane Race fuel i think would clear that beast out. Definitely the cleanest Carb bowl ive ever seen as well. Looks unused.

Find someone who knows how to work on bikes. Take the Helix seriously. It can survive the apocalypse but needs respect. It DESERVES respect.
If you can't respect the Helix sell it to someone who will. Go play with something else.

It is one of the most reliable and practical vehicles ever built. Ridden properly it can embarrass a sport bike where power is not a factor.
Michael RedCrow ...This is how you have fun on the Helix. Really tight and multiple turns such as getting from one place to the next in a crowded city or even parts of the Tail Of The Dragon. I have both motorcycles and a Helix. The Helix is less than 20 HP but it is twist and go. Either full throttle or brakes. There's no gear selection, upshifting downshifting, none of that. Just twist and go.
If you ever get a chance to ride one here's how to make it perform. Tire pressure is super critical. Also, the Helix is very rearward weight biased. You need to get more weight on the front tire. So for fast riding in the twisties you must sit as far forward on the seat as possible while placing your feet on the passenger foot rests. This will throw your body weight forward with more pressure on the handlebars. If you don't get more weight on the front tire it'll push wide in the turns and likely lowside. Don't knock it until you try it.
I was the first of my buddies to own one. I used it for commuting into the city. All my friends made fun of me until they rode it. I challenged them to come back without a smile on their face. And some borrowed it for commuting. They ALL wound up buying one.
You have to get over the macho stuff. The Harley guys have the worst time of it when you pass them on the road and when they can't keep up. LOL, guilty.

rejet it. they are super lean which is why they run so crappy when cold. take a small drill bit (smaller than the jet and just touch the sides of the jet and open it up so slightly and itll run like a dream! also maybe shim the needle up with a washer or two.
Check the rubber carb manifold. They have a tendency to develop cracks at the top of them from supporting the weight of the carb. When you hit a bump, the carb bounces downward, opening the cracks at the top of the rubber manifold, which then sucks in air and screws up your fuel/air mixture. It's a $10.00 part and it takes like a half hour to swap out. Same problem plagued the Honda Elite series of scooters.

Elite 125/150/250 carb intake manifold cracking
The rubber and metal intake manifold betwees the carburetor and the cylinder head tends to develop cracks over time, allowing air to get in. This results in a lean condition (too much air for the amount of fuel). Once the manifold cracks it will need to be replaced. The design of this joint is not the best. The carb more or less hangs off of this manifold. There is no support. A very good cure (which Honda did to the Helix) is to add a strip of metal as a support. The support would go between the carb and the cylinder head.
