Thanks Mooney Dash Cam guy, truly truly enjoying your car tours around the Mafia places and their former houses in NY. doing a great service for Mafia fans.

On the drive under the el, goosebumps! I read somewhere (Murder, Inc., by Turkus, I think) that the men who shot Joe Rosen, including Mendy Weiss, Pittsburgh Phil, Hap Harry Maione, abandoned the car they stole near the scene & took the train out. Scary! Thank you, Mooney, for another chilling tour❣️💔
I was trying to imagine life back then with the streets filled with model Ts and guys wearing fedoras. Very cool location with the trains running overhead. Some of the architecture still looks original.
I love what your doing I just found you and watch a hand full of your videos and they are awesome and to top it off you sound exactly like Mark ruffalo one of my favorite actors and there is nothing like this on you tube it's a fresh look at where the mobsters lived and hung out it's just so fascinating going through the streets with you and new bits of information the documentaries might have not mentioned so please keep it up it's a great idea thanks so much
I know that Deli on Saratoga and Livonia very well... in May 2014 a girl took her life and jumped into a moving train at that station. Half her limbs on the tracks and the other right below. Brownsville has claimed a lot of bodies.
Yup...Lepke and Anastasia's _Murder, Inc._ - Like you said, contrary to popular belief, it was so dead efficient (excuse the pun) in what it did, its "services" were often sought after on even an _international_ basis, rumor being that a few foreign business and criminal enterprise leaders were also discreetly done away with!
King Erik the greatest. Of all. It’s an apartment building now, but there is a plaque saying Ebberts Field once stood here, the whole thing is a bit sad, the idea that we once had a ballpark here in Brooklyn is quite something...
Abe "Kid Twist" Reles got his name because as a kid, when he went to the very same candy store, he always got the twisted licorice, chocolate or "red" ropes that are still big sellers. Most of these guys grew up together in that neighborhood so the candy store was always their hangout. Conveniently the train station is right there so they could anonymously travel to work and just as easily be contacted in person without attracting attention. I didn't realize Bugsey Siegal was a Murder Inc. alumnus.
There was another Jewish gang leader around circa 1900 called 'Kid Twist'. He was quite famous in his time and Reles came along not too long after. It is most likely he took his name from tha guy, Max 'Kid Twist' Zweibach.
Alot of history in Brownsville & neighboring ENY territory’s.Predominantly jewish, italian & polish immigrants in the day from the 1920’s thru the 1960’s.
Yes, I stumbled across a library book months ago and was surprised to see how different the neighborhood was then. The picture I saw was of the first Planned Parenthood location a short distance from here.
The "headquarters" of Murder Inc was called Midnight Rosies back in the 30. It was a candy store back then (candy stores sold newspapers and also had a fountain for cherry cokes and that sort of thing, they were all over the city back then). The pay phone (back 85 years ago, few people had telephones at home) was used for all those gangland executions. I remember being a kid and my Great Aunt Ida lived on Saratoga, and I heard of Murder Inc back then.
Amazing content Mooney mate so many things of interest in the presentation , obviously being around there in 30 s and 40 s there was some good work if you were up for it lol ,other interesting things after one of Tysons winning fights he started shouting out Brownsville I'm from Brownsville , obviously still an interesting place to this day ,just like our Tyson fury world champion from England can be heard after some fights and his brothers ,shouting out Lancaster were he's from which is capital of Lancashire ,which is northern England he lives in gypsy town morcambe I'm also from round that area so rock on 👊🏴🤝
Brownsville was crazy from 1960's -early 2000's.. It doesn't really seem all that menacing today.. I still wouldn't want to be walking around there at night though..
Now when I think about all of the candy stores basically all over the city which were really a staple of the city its really kinda eery to say the least.
Nice job. Mooney. My comment was again deleted by YT.. Abe Reles last name is not pronounced like Reels- but Rell-Ess. He was going to testify against Albert Anastasia-so out the window he went. BTW, Peter Falk played Reles in the 1960 movie-Murder Inc.

But I just divorced a guy straight from italy.. I found out to the divorce that he was from one of these Mafia class I had no clue. The cops know that these are gambling fronts and for years they've turned to buy eye on them. As long as politicians got money to their campaigns this has been a problem.

The cops threw Reles out the window of the Half-Moon Hotel. The cops did this at the behest of a Mr. Frank Costello who was not an Irish, surprise, surprise. But the cops were probably grateful for a under-the-table excuse to get rid of a guy who was begging to be defenestrated all right, all right. Reles was no peach
