His dad was 20 in 1937, idk why but that just blows my mind, considering he lived to 2020. Just imagine the stories.
@@michaelfranzese Nice to hear this history lesson from someone involved in that life. "Pittsburgh Phil" Strauss was a big name on that crew from what I've read. Vicious guy.
@@south50side Yes, and Mad Dog Coll, though he wasn't a member of Inc. "Say it, Fiiive!"
I would love to have talked to his father all day everyday
@Joebidenlegair123 Jjj my wife's family are/were his relatives from Donegal. A place called Gweedore. Owney Madden held him on the phone until the miller's arrived. He was trying to extort Madden for like the 3rd time. He was once part of Dutch Schultz crew, but when the crew split in half they went to war. The were the two craziest bastards in NYC at the time along with Legs Diamond.
Its the equivalent of lucky Luciano living til 2001 Imagaine that. 👍🏻
I get why so many people love listening to Michael Franzese. He's a fatherly type figure that assures confidence.
Luckily, no fatherless fucks are in the comment section :D
I’m a second generation of Jewish heritage and my grandfather had his own shop in the garment industry, he knew a lot of these gangsters who wanted to use his shop for bookmarking but he told them he had two daughters and they respected him.they never bothered him again. He was a great 👍 and honest man 👨 I miss him too this day
The best saying from Frank Costello - “I don’t have bodyguards because if they want to kill you they’re the first people to be hired” (paraphrased)
Funny I wonder how many people he hired to do the same thing
@@singingeatinglovingprofile2386 yeah it was costello who paid off the police bodyguards of ABE KID TWIST RELES that chucked him out the window.
Frank Costello had a lot of Friends in politics was he not called the Mob Ambassador ? when confronted with the young chin in court frank refused to ID him it was said that as chin was Hustled out of the court room he was heard to say "thanks Frank" in Gratitude to Costello
“They are the first to be bribed”

What I like about his videos is he repeatedly tells us viewers that isn't the life you wanna live. He constantly uses examples of how bad things can go in that life. Big ups to you Mike, because you're not glorifying the lifestyle, you're telling people that's not the way to go.
That's my thought that life is both toxic and deadly
Boom. The second I see a notification from Michael I tell the kids the keep it down, this guy gonna tell me a couple of three things.
No more Butchie, no more of dis
There's no scraps in Michaels scrapbook

Bada bing bada boom- say no more
Michael needs a movie based on him.
I want to see a movie on murder inc. with tom hardy as lead
@@westsidewoodledge8892 oh that would be good
Mr Franzese has mentioned that there's a series in the works.
We need a movie about the Camorra v Sicilian mob war in New York when the Camorra ran New York
He has a tv series coming soon. Showtime I believe. And I’m predicting Scorcesse will EP.
Amazing how your previous life transformed you into a good historian, someone who knows how to tell a story and accentuate the key events in every period of time.
Respect!
Moral to most of Mike's stories:
You may get by but you won't get away.
Eventually the life will catch-up to you.
Most of these guys were born into it, but alot of people wanted that life, mikey says be careful what you wish for!
I can already see it: Murder Inc. on Netflix - Michael Franzese executive producer.

would love to see a video about Carlo Gambino, he’s always been one of the most fascinating guys to hear stories about.. seemed so old school and classy for a powerful gangster, and so well respected. For someone so powerful, there hasn’t been enough movies or documentaries solely about him, really would love to hear you do a video about him and his life!
Sammy the Bull tells a few stories about him on his channel
No one can tell a story or retell history like you do. I think that your ability to communicate and tell a story is a big huge part of your success in and out of the Family! That is a gift!
“I don’t know. I wasn’t there. I only know what the stories are.”
Those are beautiful words to live by.
Looking forward to more stories! I am learning a lot from these sit downs. Thank you, Michael.
Always appreciate you Michael!
Really enjoy these stories and your message.
Hope everyone is doing well and hanging in there
If I had to say the one thing I like best from these talks Michael, it is the truthfulness, love and respect you give your father, which is how I feel about my father RIP, and the relationship I have and the time I spend with my son, it truly is a special bond. 🇮🇹
Michael! I hope you have another 30 years of this youthful memory and incredibly interesting capability for rationale and story telling probably my favorite channel on RUclips been hooked since your sit down with valuetainment.
Love Michael, the way he express himself..he is a men.😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
I'm a men, too. 😉👍
And what a man ! He’s one of the s-y people ! Respect !

Albert Anastasia is another character who's life/death is really interesting.
There's a pretty good documentary on him here on RUclips, check it out if you haven't already.
Yeah his death really seemed to be the end of an era.
We are all waiting for it!
Then enters Carlo Gambino
Got whacked in a barber shop. Quite a spectacle for the poor civvies just looking to get a cut 😂
Mike is the only mob guy who really does admonish the life, the other lads tell their gruesome stories and when they catch themselves laughing too much they say "of course we dont condone this we're here for the kids"
Your are incredible and lots of wisdom within them! In my teens I was pretty darn close to become a professional criminal, but I had the luck on having teachers that believed in me and saw my potential and it made ditch all the fighting etc, and actually become a decent, law-abiding person! The stories you tell has the potential to help youths in risk of criminality to a better life! I'm not religious at all but God bless you, michael!
You're the man Mr. Franzese! Keep the content coming, gets me through the long days at work, salute!
One of the best channels on RUclips hands down. It makes my Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

These videos are great. Keep the history videos coming. The nitty gritty details, the kind of information that's hard to come by. Interesting stuff.
I love how you know what the haters are going to say before they do. You shut them down before they even start.
You've shown your authenticity and integrity over and over, and I see why everyone calls you a smart guy. More like genius.

I've been following for awhile & really nice to see a person with real facts. These have been really good video's & a new insight to the golden era of the mob & the hardship of the downfall.

In 1960 (as a 14 year old) I read “Murder, Inc.” by Burton B.Turkus and Sid Feder. It is a “Must Read”
for anyone interested in this group of killers. Midnight Rosie’s in Brooklyn was their hangout.

It's funny that The Sopranos comes up in this video about Albert Anastasia - one of my favourite quotes from the show:
Uncle Junior: Why does everything have to be so difficult? You know back in the fifties we worked together. Even rival families settled their differences amicably
Tony (Sarcastically): Oh yeah, I remember that picture of Albert Anastasia lying there all "amicable" on the barber shop floor

Mr. Franzese, what advice would you give to someone who feels that a criminal lifestyle is their only option to protect the people they care for? Also love your videos and the inspiring messages they hold!
You’re a real “wise guy” Michael
I love to watch your youtube because I'm only 15 but I'm obsessed with the mafia me myself at one time was almost convinced to join the streets due to some family ties but I started watching you and let me tell you. Your youtube channel changed my whole point of view
Michael you're such a huge inspiration. Much love from the Philippines!
Mike, I Saw a documentary years ago where they said you had some shipping container repair scam. I'd like to hear some of the other clever schemes you or you people knew had going. Thanks for the great content.
The "Kid Twist" hotel episode is portrayed in the film, "The Valachi Papers". (released a few months before "The Godfather")
Excellent video as always Michael!
Love your talks and stories Michael, you know how to tell a story like no one else I’ve ever seen. If you happen to see this comment out of the hundreds of them, it would be really cool to hear what you know about the Greek Mafia and it’s involvement in the US and their partnership with the Lucchese family
Listening to Michael Franzese and Sammy the Bull on youtube makes you feel like the mafia is back in action
Well they could be. Ironically the less you hear of them, the more likely they are either on life support or resurging and just being smarter. Don't glamorize it though, if they are on the upswing, some of their crimes probably take some money out of your pocket. Housing loan scams, stock scams etc.

I could listen to Michael all day, fantastic story teller!
I watched a documentary about this (I don't know how much of this is true) but it said Frank Costello paid people off to have Abe 'Kid Twist' relles thrown from the window, the news headlines of the days called Relles "the canary that could sing, but couldn't fly".
Was Herschel Goldberg (pen name Harry Grey) a member of Murder Inc? He is the main character in the book The Hoods, which was made into the movie Once Upon a Time in America.
You keep me sane, thank you Michael
This stuff is absolutely incredible- great to hear an "educated" opinion- people who repeat rumours only add to an already false narrative- fascinating reflections from a very entertaining credible source- Thanks again Mr Franzese ⚜️
Michael, I know this is off topic, but I would like to suggest 2 mafia movies, if you don't mind, for Mob Movie Mondays. The first movie is, Things Change, with Don Ameche and Joe Mantegna based in Chicago during the time it was filmed which was the late 80's. The second is Gomorrah based on the Camorra in Napoli which you already know. The reason why I chose these movies because they're relatively under the radar, especially Gomorrah because it's an Italian movie which later became a TV series in Italy.
Abe “Kid Twist” Reles- “The canary who could sing but couldn’t fly”. Half Moon Hotel Coney Island
Frank “Prime Minister of the Underworld” Costello-Shot by Vinny “The Chin” Gigante in May, 1957....non-fatally. Costello died in 1973.
Good lighting, appropriate for the atmosphere for the topics.
Thank you Mr Franzisi for your honesty and courage.
Family or tribal oral history is much better than anything taught in school.
Just a small correction - Costello died in 1973, not "in the late 50s".
