Ah, what a good time I used to have. I’d watch the first few hours then, my vices would take over, then I’d get smashed and party and talk to everyone I could in the beer tent, stagger bout to watch the last few laps, back to get one more, leave and go back to some house party and always a great time. But that was years ago, couldn’t do that again, but loved those years when I could. Just a dam good time. Hats off to those who can do that kind of endurance. It’s a sport that gets very little air time, it’s a hard drive so the guys are in great shape and have balls of steel too. I remember many times at 9 am start, with so. UFO snow fog, the green flag drops and all the sleds go full throttle with only few feet visibility and boy that was scary.
You all obviously haven’t been to Alaska! Try the iron dog race, follows the Iditarod sled dog race, round trip through real wilderness! You down south have no clue about our Alaska! Try 2000 miles through varied wilderness terrain up here!😳🤣🤪
IDK why it has to be an oval race, a couple more turns would make this truly the Le Mans 24h or Bathurst 1000 of snowmobiles instead of being an overly-long oval race
@@Dale.Wiggins88 - The French decided a couple of centuries ago that a kilometer should be 1 ten-thousandth of the distance between the North/South pole and the equator.

This would be nice and good race if you do full race not high lights. So next time please do full 500 laps race fun and enjoy to watch please and thank you sincerely Christopher wright let's go racing. If we any women riders ladies and gentlemen start your engines and let's go snow mobile racing
@@jeffmoleskivintageiceracin5935 okay thank you Jeff when I get the money I will get floracing so I can see the full racing thank you very much for telling me this I appreciate it.
First time seeing this style of racing. Very cool.
Shame we don't have the Triple Crown anymore, The Alpena 250, the T.C. 250 and the I-500. Used to be great times back in the 70's..
Because nobody can agree on anything, just like a bunch of toddlers.
Or lack of snow

💯 adgree.. all that money owners put into their teams and hardly nobody in the stands. sad
There will never be a golden era like the 70's and triple crown.....awesome memories...!
7 Time winner! Awesome.
Cant even imagine how sore these guys are a day or two after this enduro.
Is this what became of the old Winnipeg to St Paul I 500? Them were the days!
My John Deere dealer entered a few times
No, different race.
different race and only started 3 years after that cross country race
Going Nowhere Fast 🎉 🥳

How fast they went?
500 laps... holy crap!
That equals 500 miles.
I've been flabbergasted with this race every time I see it.
Michigan is just awesome
Wow never heard of this race but this is awesome.
This is wild
What a race. Praise God for enough snow !
This is a walk in the park compared to the iron dog race in Alaska.
a lot of the racers get back problems... this year and the last 2 years the track gets so bumpy they start wheeling and the g forces put on the body..
this should air on tv , how do you think they are going to get more people interested in this , they are scaring people away !
who watches TV still? i dont know anyone under the age of 55 with a tradition TV subscription
WELL I MENT YOU TUBE TV !

I live in Pennsylvania and we used to be able to ride sleds every year until about 8 years ago then it hasn't hardly snowed enough
Was it was even below freezing there today?
Nope they started at like 30 degrees and highest was like 34-35
The Yooper accent is hilarious.
hit sam racks there
You must check out the band called the Yoopers then.
Funny and talented.
Thats so bad ass!
Where do racers get the windshields like that??
At the snowmobile shop.
Where is this? Ive never seen this before.
Sault Ste. Marie, MI
my gosh. how much time does this take?
roughly 8 hours now

@@Adam-x4b No shit!😳🤪
The original I500 was from Thunder bay to St Paul
Should be a new Arctic Thunder game
Pretty much like riding anywhere in the Midwest all day.
winnipeg to st paul was a lot tougher than this. was a great race but made no money as no paid attendance.
they are so loud I can hear them in Canada😋
🎉spider.....Eyes......fried clam
If it's grueling WHY do it 🤪🤯
because its fun.
500 miles with angry Bumblebees bathed in castor oil and race gas. I'm in.
❤❤
So, like do Winnipeggers unnerstan'..yooper?
Dangerous. If he got tagged when he fell off he would have been instantly killed. So not worth it.
i miss john deers
Track is too big for me. Too many sleds, competition is who can handle a tore up track.
Its an endurance race. Not made for wimps race
This race is an endurance race that’s why they tear the track up so much.. and I love to hear the sleds roaring when I walk out my house
I can't wait to go there some year..lol

Finish line is placed to reward big motors not skills, should have that line in the middle of the front stretch.
same motors on all sleds.
Same motors buddy all restricted to 600cc
You only had 500 miles to get it done. 300 feet shouldn't matter.
