Anybody who thinks that the Japanese are only good at Maths, Science, Engineering and Classical Music should listen to this excellent performance and think again. So lovely to see and hear such high quality Traditional Jazz being delivered by two, traditionally dressed, lovely lady geniuses - and their very talented friends. So glad to have discovered the New Orleans Jazz Hounds on RUclips - after which I immediately subscribed, so as not to miss out. I plead with these maestros to continue spreading joy through their music.
so impressed by the totally authentic sound and technical ability oft= the musicians and there feeling for the music . greta listening shame we dont hear more of them on cd
I personally favor Tuba Skinny and Shake Em Up. Probably because I am in awe of Shaye Kohn and Haruki Kikuchi. I would be hard put to choose between Chloe Feoranzo and Tamura Makiko.
@@markhorton3994 I also love the clarinet music of Tamura Makiko and of Chloe Feoranzo. Being from Japan, Tamura possibly has more freedom than Chloe in New Orleans. Both are sensational. Did you miss the fact that Haruki Kikuchi is playing here as well? That girl gets around.
@@GrahamDLovell On some videos of Kato"s bands we get to hear Tamura, Haruki Kikuchi AND Shaye Cohn. She lets Kato play lead most of the time. Do you know that Tamura Makiko has her own traditional jazz band in Japan? Her trumpet player is pretty good and doesn't tell her what to do.
Very imperfect but that's the beauty of it. Loved it. The clarinetists, both excellent, especially the lady she gotta real talent. Liked the old dude on the piano too but.. one question could the trombonist have done more? Overall fantastic, have listened to so many versions of the great piece, really enjoyed this one. BRAVO!
Tamara is close to perfection! Beautiful sound from the clarinet!
Superb clarinetist !

I love how the drummer towards the end starts to wince, preparing for a mistake...
Thumbs up for these musicians. Specially for the lady with the clarinet. Related to Artie Shaw?
Matumoto / GREAT!!
I would love to know what the person in the crowd said at 6:03.
