I'm a CS and physics double major really interested in the applications of CS and software in the field of astrophysics! There are quite a few people at my uni working on software for galaxy simulations, and it has been super cool to talk with them!

Your tech tools have evolved from the MacBook you used in previous videos, especially in 'Code of the Future,' to incorporating a Raspberry Pi. Hi Ellie, remember that a few months ago I was asking in the comment of another video if it's a good idea to do Part III math at Cambridge? I'm at Cambridge studying Part III right now and already got a PhD offer in astrophysics😄

I was a bit amazed by the variety of lecture courses, and happy to see that there are many astrophysics courses available! The example sheets are pretty challenging tho, sometimes I don't even know where to start to solve those problems🥲 @@EllieSleightholm

Hi Ellie! What specifically are you coding for? You said that you are doing more math and phys works so, what type of overlap between math, phys and coding you are working on?
we're building a mission planning software so i work on the maths and physics behind spacecraft simulations - things like planetary observations, spacecraft orbits, propagation, etc. :)
In the UK, If someone wanted to become a statistician, would their be a statistics major/degree path? Or do they just study math?
You can often switch to a mathematics and statistics degree by just taking a significant proportion of statistics module in final year
It depends really! You can do degrees in Mathematics and Statistics or in Mathematics and just choose more statistics based modules :)
What was the learning curve like going from python to rust/c++. I want to learn rust or c++ but being a python user for many years I wonder how hard it will be to pickup
I didn't find it too challenging but Rust/C++ are structured very differently to Python so there's a lot more you need to understand before doing a project. I honestly love coding in Rust and C++ though so I'd definitely recommend learning! I have a Rust beginner playlist on my coding channel (www.youtube.com/@CodeoftheFuture) if you want to try Rust! I set it up so that someone who only has Python knowledge can follow along!

Hello can you please tell on how to start math and physicswith zero knowledge so I can get into college I have only 6 months left to apply for a college I only know some basic but I don't know anything
i'd recommend starting with books for beginners or finding youtube video series that go through modules. I will do some more research and look into creating a video on the steps you can take :)

C++ SW Engineer here, who then learned Rust, but who keeps going back to C++ over and over again😅
