    Summary -
    Pick options you enjoy.
    Enjoy yourself, don’t stress yourself.
Listen to everything the lecturer says, they write the exams you take, the content and exam are tied together so listen to everything.
    Practise before getting the mark-scheme.
Make mistakes and learn from them.
Ask question and get help from lecturers and staff, it’s important in learning.
30% drop in marks is still a first, chill out.
Lecturer notes are essentially your cheat sheet.
Use cue cards, for active recall, spaced, repeated recognition is how we create memories.
    Mindset is everything.
    What is important to you.
Support is always available, use it.
Believe you can do something before starting.
“Shoot for the moon, because even if you miss you’ll be among the stars.”
My own advice would be learn a topic briefly BEFORE the lecturer, you will understand more, and be able to listen to more.
Highlight your weaknesses, and improve them.
Above all else, you’re spending £9250 to learn this stuff, about £177 a week just for tuition. Don’t slack off or get blackout drunk each night.
    Have fun.

Hi Ellie. Some nice content. I am 61 and taking an MSc in Maths with the OU. This year is my second module; the topic is nonlinear ODEs. My remote exam is on 2nd June. I am just about to start revising. The module has culminated with a very difficult topic. I have been a high achiever but I’m feeling the pressure with this one. It’s begun to affect my confidence. Hearing you speak I feel that what I’m going through is totally normal and I should not beat myself up. Thanks very much.

Loved the video, it is extremely helpful!! I am also a Maths student, I’ve just finished my first year, and I was wondering if you could maybe make a video about using cue cards for Maths? I tried using Anki but it wasn’t that helpful for me in Maths… thanks!! xx

Thank you so much!! Yes absolutely! I often find paper ones easier for maths just because writing maths on any online app is awful 😂 but will explain more in a RUclips video!!

Hiya so im only doing a levels but ive been using anki since the beginning and i have an anki addiction so maybe i can give some advice. Basically I just make my cards by taking photos of my notes with camscanner I think its called the app, share it w my computer through Google photos and then using the snipping tool I just make the question and answer sections. Hope that helps, once u get the system set up its quicker than u think. Hope that helps

@Salma Abdullei dont use physical cards i use my notes to create digital cards on anki if that makes sense. So i can use cloze deletion with the add on as normal

It would be so helpful if you made a video on how you make your cue cards. Cue cards are easy to make for finance but I have no idea how to make them for maths.

Well, I have a strange problem. It may be a sign of an imposter syndrome, but I'm not sure. In so many videos and articles there is a statement that you don't need a great memory to do maths, everything is just based on logic and finding solutions - however, my experience is way too different. Since the very beginning of uni I struggled with memorising things (I didn't use any proper techniques, because I never heard of them and yet was able to finish school successfully). I now find myself scared as hell of any type of memory test, and it is so frustrating... It feels like negative emotions caused by lack of memory training affect your memory even more, so you're literally trapped 😩 Your videos represent maths degree in a realistic and helpful way, which is rare and awesome.

I completely understand what you mean! I found that first year is definitely more applying and solving but there's still a large element of memorisation which gets bigger as you go up through the years! Learning the correct ways of memorising things is so useful in a maths degree - I use active recall and spaced repetition which really help! Thank you so much for your kind comment, I'm trying my best to make my videos as realistic as possible and encourage people to study maths - not scare them!!😁

Maths is like a painter you learn to paint the basics possibilities of calculus like brush them you paint with the brush in different innovation of canvas . Maths is really difficult because of the input bases of conundrums that you want to use or learn . But unfortunately the basics 19 the century of the century of light founders of all maths sup maths spec is still active but somewhat less reliable dependant on the new wave determinants of calculus complexes bases you wish to paint upon . And the conundrums of maths spec engineerings is worse cause the new stemsmaths robotics destroy our classics views of all system complexes. If you think like being mit Harvard the cream of the crops in engineerings can you explain why the cowlings are broken or the landing wheels are somewhat very light in its purposes of efficiency . So your nafiplomas are just like alphabets you know how to read but you cannot build the lapt tops .still good decent students had to start somewhere only the young had the hope of striving in life to make it right and certainly better .and if a nutty build a new x Boeing or not does your phds PhD still be in sync with his teachings outdated .sometimes people or phds are rude like or not but the worse is to still eat the same mac Donald but with a sour nonsense pickle .
