      Anyone removing the knuckle off a car for ball joint replacement, is wasting time and doesn’t have the right tools.

    Smoke the side of the ball joint with a hammer is just as fst and you dont need a compressor,air chisel or a lift

      Nope I’ve done plenty of them and the problem is these dealer guys have to buy every single exact tool swing it with a hammer by time you walk over get the tool get the air hammer get your earmuffs it’s already out compromise

    Or use the old nut, a disposable socket, and hammer. Either air or otherwise. Neat little tool tho

      Just about to do this job. Can you then remove the axle and press it out like this? With just the bottom popped. Or do you also need to take off the upper control arm bolts?

    Yup, I'm buying that now. I usually throw the nut on and toss the socket over the nut and hit the socket with the air hammer. Tired of destroying the squares though, this is perfect.

    It didn’t remove the balljoint it just separated the lower control arm from the steering knuckle. If you look, the balljoint is still pressed into the vertical steering knuckle. Air hammers are cool though. I’m going to use a “pickle fork” to separate mine since I don’t have air tools and remove the steering knuckle and try the press/remover and if that doesn’t work use a 2lb hammer.

      I co-sign this .😂😂 I was not a honda tech very long but every odyssey ticket I got was a straight turd😂😂😂
      From an electrical nightmare 2008 I had, a super duper rusted and leaking 2011 I had to
      Stick a transmission in to a newer one I had the pleasure of putting a floor harness 🤦🏿‍♂️
      Before I left I said I would never work on an odyssey again 😂😂😂

      @@BCautosolutions not everyone owns a air compressor and an air chisel, that's why I said cheaper. Also you are more likely to get Raynaud's syndrome useing vibrating air tools compared to hand tools. Pretty common for mechanics too. Look it up if you think I'm lieing.

      @@businessraptor134 I believe you, this is still easier and less wearing on my body. I rarely use an air hammer and it takes 2 seconds. Some of these cars removing ball joints doesn’t take just a few hits. If you’ve ever done ball joints on 13-17 Honda accords you would know exactly what I mean which we currently have a recall and have to do a shit tom of them, so again this is easier. If you don’t own an air hammer, could be time to invest in one 👍🏻

      @@BCautosolutions all my cars are early 2000s because I maintain them myself and Im particular with my cars. I've done the balljoints on all but 1 too but with a press and I freeze my ball and u joints so they shrink and fall into place almost. I was generalizing for the general public and already do own air tools. My friend has the hand issue though, I'd recommend some good padded gloves and iving them even if they don't hurt. His hand pain has nearly made him have to stop working. Take care man

      Ok you title it removing ball joint which you don’t, and to separate it like you did, you can simply hit the control arm with hammer. Where is the disconnect here? Again you are not removing the ball joint like you titled the video

Also I am removing the ball joint from the lower arm. If I was replacing it, I would have titled it “how to press out ball joint”.     Use the old nuts screw it in then use your air hammer it will do the same no need for special tools the your using..screw the nut half way that's it..
