- In this video I do a Maple Bourbon Double Smoked Ham on a pellet grill. I use the Rider DLX for this one and was very happy how it turned out. Plan on 4 to 5 hours for this cook. You are basically just reheating this ham with some extra smoky goodness!! If you are new to outdoor BBQ this is a great cook to learn your new cooker or if you are already a pro well this Maple Bourbon glaze is the bomb!!!! Very super easy recipe but packed with flavor!! Thanks for watching!!
Maple Bourbon Glaze:
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup of REAL maple syrup
2 heaping Tbsp of the rub you are using
1/4 cup of apple juice
1/2 cup of bourbon but you can add more
Now mix mix it up and either put it in the cooker if you have a pan that can or cook it up on the stove and reduce it down.
This Jalapeño Maple rub goes great on pork! I am serious there are small bits of jalapeño not just some dried out powder! Head over to Simon Barbecue and get your very own bag of goodness!

Perfect ham recipe Ricer! The rub and sauce combo sounds delicious and it came out really nice with the char on the outside. Crispy bits are the best! Keep on grillin and have a great week brother!

Dude, I duplicated your technique today, and i hit it out of the park.thanks bud Merry Christmas!
Awesome brother!!! Glad I could help!!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!!
Thanks for the vid. I'm going to double smoke a ham for Easter. It will be a good test for my relatively new Rec Teq .
Awesome Tom and hope yours turned out fantastic!!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ I'm not a big fan of ham. After trying this recipe, that has changed ! My wife, kids, and grandkids all enjoyed it. I'll smoke another ham, soon. The glaze has us all hooked.
That picture alone makes the mouth water to be honest, looks soooo nice. Looking forward to the video.
Thank you and yes this one certainly was packed with flavor!! I appreciate you leaving a comment!!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ the picture looked good, just watched the video, wow, honestly, that looked well tasty, nice.

That was a thing of beauty Jeff! I could almost taste that maple bourbon glaze as you bit into it! What a perfect combination of flavors! I get two weeks off starting on the 18th of this month, and you can bet I'm gonna be doing this exact recipe for the family. Outstanding!
Thank you Rus! The maple bourbon glaze with that jalapeño maple rub is such a great pairing with a good salty ham for sure!! Plus you get that purdy mahogany sheen that helps make people drool!! ha ha I hope you all give this one a try brother!! Up here in the north woods we can put maple syrup on anything!!! haha Like always bro thanks for watching and I hope you have a great week!!!
Awesome video Ricer! This ham looked KILLER! And you can never go wrong with bourbon anything!
Ya bourbon was made for drinking and cooking for sure!!!hahaha Thanks Darrin and I can't wait to see your ham video brother!! Have a great week!!

Way to Ham it up in this one! Fantastic.
Hahahah thanks Dash!!! Ya I just enjoy a good bourbon anything glaze on a ham!! This always works great for the boys breakfast and lunch!! Us 4 crushed this ham in a day and a half!!! Have a great week bro!!
That ha. Looks crazy tasty. Great work, Ricer.
Thank you Rob and ya this was incredible!! That maple glaze matches up so good with some salty ham!! Thanks for watching and have a fantastic week!!
Very nice.. I see you could tilt the ham with one hand and glaze with the other if you have the gloves on.. to get glaze in deeply 👍 yummy👌
Yep you could do that a little! Just got to be careful with the bottom pieces because they get real tender and might break off but on the wire grate you might get a good angle to penetrate deeper!!! Thanks for watching and have a great week!!
Looks awesome! Gonna have to give it a crack
Heck ya Joel!! A good bourbon ham is awesome!!!! Thanks for watching!!! Have a great week!!
Very detailed show. That ham looked killer. Nice job brother!
Thanks Tommy!! Ham never really gets the credit it should in bbq but I am telling ya that little extra kick of smoke and bourbon glaze make it worth big money!! Thanks for watching bro and I hope you have a fantastic week!!!
Planning on one of these for Christmas. Yours looked great!
Thanks Krash!! Ya that glaze with that reddish amber color is so dang good!! Perfect balance of salty sweet and with just a little kick from the jalapeño rub!! My wife was so worried it was going to be way too spicy for her well you can hear her in the background loving it!!! ha ha Thanks for watching and have a great week!!
Loved the smoke so much had to do it twice. Nice Brutha
You are correct, it just gives it a little better taste and certainly leaves room in the oven for more sides!!!! Thanks for watching and have a great week!!
I did a spiral ham on the pellet grill but it did not look half as good as yours. It was missing that glaze! great one Jeff!
Oh ya Brian drizzle on some extra flavor next time brother!! Hands down some type of maple glaze is my favorite on ham!! Honestly this was completely gone in a day and a half! I did a pineapple bourn ham and that will be coming soon!! Both are awesome!!! Have a great week and thanks for watching!!
Awesome video as always man! Keep the content coming!
Thank you and I appreciate you watching!!! Have a fantastic week and hoping to get another video out later this week!!
This was an awesome cook! I’ll have to try this!
Oh ya Eric the maple bourbon and salty ham are a match for any holiday meal!!! This ham was gone in a day and a half. The 4 of us decide this same cook will be made for our Christmas dinner! Thanks for watching and have a great week!!
That looks AMAZING Ricer! I guess I know what we are having for Christmas! Maybe I won't wait? But if I can... that's gonna be some good ham that everyone will be asking me about! Thanks for sharing this recipe and have a Great day!
Thank you Kevin!! Any bourbon ham tastes great off the smoker but I really just like the spiral ham because they soak uo so much of that glaze!! Have a great week and thanks for watching!!
Wowzers that ham sure is a beaut! So hungry right now, this is just epic! Just exploding with flavour I bet!!
Ya bro this one was packed with flavor and the 4 of us ate all of it in a day and a half!! Half was gone before we took it off the cutting board!!! hahaha Thanks for watching and have a great week!!
Ricer, I'm doing one for TG rather than the traditional turkey. Do you have these instructions and recipe in print form? Thanks
Hi Don no I do not have the recipe where you can print it off, hopefully someday when I can do this fulltime I will have a place on my website. Sorry but only so much I can do right now. This truly is one of our favorite cooks to do year around, great for breakfast ham!!! Thanks for watching brother!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ Well, since I have no stenographer to rest delicately upon my lap, I guess my lazy arse will have to play the video and commit your comments to paper. Just as well, I lost any trace of a "lap"years ago!Happy Thanksgiving.
I use the basic recipe and just use different stuff in replace of the maple syrup, work good with anything sweet!
Yummy, sticky goodness! Great job Ricer. At one point I said, why would you leave a bottle of Makers open?? Got it.
Thank you Claude!! Hahaha ya the cook needs to take a poke from time to time during any bourbon glaze cook!!! hahaha Thanks for watching and have a great week!!
I thought you recommended starting with Chicken
Yes exactly right, I typically say chicken Ray but I think a ham is even easier plus we are getting close to the holidays and I know there are a lot of people getting ready to join the pellet backyard bbq enthusiasts so this will get their family very happy they got a new cooker!! Thanks for watching brother!!
Looks freakin amazing.
Thank you brother!! Super easy but packed with flavor!!! I appreciate you watching!!! Have a great week!!
I just ordered the 4 pack of the flavors.... I’ll throw a ham on the smoker this weekend!!
AWESOME!! I really like the jalapeño maple on pork and the others are really good also!!! Let me know what you think!!! Have a great week!!
I was puzzled at first why you would " double smoke" a ham. But then you mentioned it was a way to reheat. Ok that makes sense. It looked great although I'm not sure I would have used Makers , that's great sipping whiskey 😄. Anyway great vid, have a great day. Oh one last tip, since you had the Makers out and you were using it in the glaze it would have made a really nice flambe ( FIRE 🔥 🔥🔥)
Thank you Victor!! Great tip I might have to do a flambé in a cast iron pan one of these days!! Maybe not in the garage though my wife worries enough when I run the GrillGun in there!! ha ha Thanks for watching and have a great week!!!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ Flambe is spectacular table side,no doubt. I'm thinking of going flambe to finish the next Porchetta. I'll play it safe the first time with the Porchetta and do it while it's still on the Rotisserie. Good safe place with nothing overhead. Hmmm , Porchetta. Have a great night. Opp's almost forgot, the steelers lost tonight so some former Dolphins players are drinking it up tonight. 🐬👍
Hahahaha yep!! I really need to do a Porchetta video one of these days! I have done a couple but not worthy enough to film. I want that broken glass sound when I cut into it!!! hahaha That sounds really good though!!! I will jot that down in my video list to do's!!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ great, looking forward to it. If you film it remember to do the Guga slow motion of the flambe. They certainly do a great job of showing fire 🔥.
@@victorbenner539 hahahaha I am practicing those shots but wiggle too much still!!! ha ha
dHAM!
That is right!! Thanks for watching and have a great week!!
That ham look so damn good.
Thanks Shane and it certainly was brother!! Can't wait to share it!!!
Hey buddy that looks great! Have you ever wrapped oone at the 140 point and took it to pork butt temps? Its fall apart tender! Have a great week!
Thanks Hillbilly!! No I never tried that before!! Maybe one of these days I do a test run with it and see how it goes?!?!!? Thanks for the idea brother!!!! Got another prime video coming out tomorrow! This one isn't as pink as the last one but still dang tasty!! Like always thanks for watching bud!!
Great video. I just watched your GrillGrates video. What size are the grates you are using for the kettle? I don't want to buy the full size offered in the web site. I just want the two pieces. Thanks!
I went out in the garage and measured them up for ya. They are 19 1/4 inches long. Thanks for watching!!
Awesome. You are the man. I appreciate your help.
You're welcome!!
HE NEVER SAYS MY NAME ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahaha well I was waiting to see if anyone noticed!!! ha ha Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!!
