Mark Wright You can’t be “not actually that good”, and have other musicians want to play with you. He has also produced, and worked with other artists outside of Underoath. Its okay to not like him, but be realistic about shit.
I mean Aaron is a cool drummer to listen to but every guitar player I ever met that decided to pick up drums could pull those fills off after barely a month of playing lol. It's definitely one of those "sounds harder than it is" scenarios.
What’s so impressive is his writing!! In a generation where everyone thinks double bass has to be so predominant in metal he proves it doesn’t and to be honest his drum parts are better written than most 🤘
Nice to see a drummer in modern aggressive music that doesn't completely rely on his double kick pedals. It's refreshing. Everything is so kick oriented now a days
For real man I thought they always used double kick pedals but it's the fact that Aaron's not only drumming skills but his pedal skills are off the charts if he had a double kick he would make it sound like a quad kick
@Metal Head I'm confused on what I need to do research on? He is a power drummer, I was surprised the drum kit held up to his playing... You may have read my comment wrong, no worries. I am in Tampa, seen UO play a ton in the early days, Aaron was always the fan favorite for his playing.
@Metal Head he's talking about this barbie drumset being able to handle how powerful Aaron is. Its typical for him to shatter symbals and explode drum sticks lol. He seriously puts kits through major abuse.
Yeah I bought the kit because of this video, i can confirm it's a badass drum set and one of the best you can get for its price. I've been playing acoustic drums for 20 years I grew up playing death metal, black metal, all the European shit lol so I play heavy and with power and the alesis strike pro se still looks.like I just bought it super impressed, if it were acoustic I'd have done popped the snare head and fucked the Tom's and floor Tom's up bad lol
I've always admired the Aaron plays drums kinda like Dave Ghrol back in the day where he had to play as if it was his last show and beat the shit out of the drums and at a weird time with speed.
Maybe he just means he tries to be considerate of his neighbors, which is kind imo. Especially if we are talking anything like an apartment or townhouse.
This video shows that this new kit can take a pounding unlike the kick pad on my DM10X that only lasted 11 months and Alesis wouldn't warranty which was a little disappointing. Seriously considering buying one of these!
@@itsmemckee2110 the first version right?.. the new one has improved pad quality .. they fixed the issues with broken plates under the sensors and bad cymbals and so forth.. well Alesis should have given people their money back for the first edition.. but the new version is way better I have to say..
There you go Alexis. The answer to how to improve the “look” of your lesser price edrums is on the wall. A drum screen on the front of the rack, flexible maybe with ties through holes holding it on and your Alesis logo in center. Black with neon painted logo.
I emailed Alesis asking for firmware release notes. That was a week ago. Automated response says they will get back within three days. Four days later I emailed agan. Same computer response. Now its been a week and no humans have emailed me back. Maybe no humans work at Alesis now.
Not trying to hate but this kit or at least the settings they put on it allow ZERO control. The hits he does on the snare are completely 1 dimensional even tho he is playing with varied velocity. Aaron has insane control but this kit makes it sounds like trash. The sensitivity curve is non existent... Great drummer. Terrible tool.
Shit, I still miss the Dallas days lol. DTGL is amazing, don’t get me wrong. But I’d recommend anyone and everyone to listen to Aaron’s drumming on earlier albums (even if they don’t care for Dallas’s vocals). Style is different but you can still hear Aaron’s distinctive licks in there. And to think how young he was at the time too? Soooo good.
I can’t get over how much aggression he puts into his drumming but how controlled he is at the same time.
ImportRacer4Life RIGHT!! I’ve always thought that
Always. Beats the ever living fuck out of his kit but is to tight and precise at the same time.
Mark Wright your comment is invalid
Mark Wright You can’t be “not actually that good”, and have other musicians want to play with you. He has also produced, and worked with other artists outside of Underoath. Its okay to not like him, but be realistic about shit.
@Mark Wright let's see you play this.
Man, if this drums can handle Aaron playing, it’s really good.
One of the reason I bought this kit was seeing how hard he hit the kit. I can confirm it's a very solid edrum kit and one of the best for the price.
@@thedonzo same I have it and it's awesome
it can handle his hits sure. but the kit sounds like ass!

Barely a month? Let's not exaggerate lol
They're good for a basic style of music like underoath. Nothing special but works very well for the style.
@@waveemann8857 yeah and they do it singing, for an whole album length too... don't they?

That drum kit wont last half a set in a uo show
Hahaha so true! I saw them in concert once and I have never seen anyone hit the drums as hard as Aaron.
Truth!
One of the best drummers out there hands down

Zao and Norma Jean are two favorites of mine and they've never really been big into double kicks and fucking nail it without it.
Go listen to real underoath from their first few albums and then come talk to me lol
Aaron can heel toe faster than most chumps can use a double kick

underrated by who? People magazine? The billboards? ONLY THE REAL ONES KNOW HOW FIRE HE ISSSSS!!!!!!

Can't lie, super impressed the kit was able to keep up for the most part.
