It's been almost 18 months since my last visit to Rosemary Wood Fisheries. After multiple requests from subscribers to return and fish their big lake I thought I would give it a go, with carp going into the 30's and the fishery being surrounded by reeds I tackled up and set my stall out to fish solid bags and specimen methods.
I always try and stick to fishery rules especially with the size of the channel and I always check the fishery websites and notice boards, however I could not find any for Rosemary wood. I have been told since that braided hook-lengths are not allowed (apparently there is a none official website with a list of rules). I apologise for making this mistake, please swap the braid out for mono or fluoro if you visit.

How much have you spent on bait? You must have 5/6 different kind of pellets! Fishing is meant to be not only enjoyable but also affordable. I can't stand these videos where the expert is recommending so many different pellets to use. Ridiculous
Where is the expert ? 😂 those bags will last 3/4 sessions Jeff. You don’t have to use them all in one go.
When did he say you have to buy it ? Use sweetcorn and salt in the pva bag if your broke
@@TomLong-du7zz For some reason every carp angler nowadays wants to have 4/5 different pellets in PVA bags then a goo to squirt inside for what apparently is another attractor....it's like where do you draw the line on overkill! Surely you can see as Westy is loading the PVA bags with different kinds of pellets then a goo.....these bags and special goos add up massively, especially when using so many together. And trust me having two rods out for a session using pellets in a PVA like that they will not last 3/4 sessions. It's just an observation I've seen as of late with so many carpers throwing so much different food at these carp fishing is becoming more about how much you can throw in than what you may catch.
@@WestysAngling I would love to see Carp fishing simplified again without the use of so many different pellets and goo being used all the time. There are people starting their fishing adventures and are new to the sport and to see Anglers pushing so many different variations of filling a PVA bag with 3/4 different pellets then a goo it's like ....why so much? Carp fishing is becoming more expensive than it needs to be sometimes and I'm sure people new to the sport would appreciate watching a more cost effective way to fish for carp. I appreciate your videos I really do but I struggle to understand the need for so many different baits being used at once.
@jeffbylett6638 maybe because it's the way he likes to fish, fishing can become tedious at times and rebaiting with different products is something different to try.
He also has his own brand of pellets and goo, ya know...he's doing what he enjoys while maybe growing his own business...
...which is none of anyone's business, ironically.

Awful fishery , fish mouths are ruined an there all tiny there’s not been 30s in there for years
Yup, need a tractor to survive the road in.... Line, floats and crap everywhere... Loaded with drug smoking, drinking, dogs and some idiot razzing around on a quad bike... through the pegs.... But don't worry, the owner will shout at everyone to be out by 6.45pm...

Sounds like the fishery is at fault really then should be clearly on there website and somewhere on site for everyone to read. Far play for still putting the video out sound like a nice place to fish and it was a honest mistake.

I reeled an 8m pole in after it had been dragged in by a small carp it belonged to a young kid on the opposite bank who had got off his box and left the pole on a holder unattended

Looks a decent water but hard to see the fish like that. I think some of these fisheries need to start banning kids without adults.
But am saying that I went to a water recently, two adults the amount of bait they put into the water was obscene absolutely killed the water and it can’t be good for the water either .
I think carp fishing has a problem personally now with over feeding.
People are watching pro carp anglers films and thinking they will do the same on there local waters that don’t suit. Overpowered tackle and obscene baiting.

Good video as always, just a shame about the state of some of the carps mouths…over fished and poor care when caught I guess.
Went to a commercial yesterday and it was very busy. Everyone seemed to be throwing groundbait in by the bucketful. No-one was catching. Fish were so full of feed!!!! Complete waste of time! Went home. Won't go back until after the schools go back in September.
Kids are a nightmare mate. 90% of them anyway. It’s just because they aren’t going with adults that can rein them in. I know a lot of fisheries banning kids.
The more I watch your videos the more hooked I get. It’s making me want to get back on the bank and catch some more carp 😂

Started on carp rod and boilies to catch nice bream every cast 😂
Switched to tip rod and wafter and got a carp straight away ...
Spent the rest of the session on waggler rod fishing maggot getting a roach a chuck ... some nice silvers in that lake 👌

Sorry, have to say ill not be going back here, 5mins drive from me....the 2 brothers (ex International POLE fisherman) do not have a clue for specimen fishing, the fish are battered, the fishery road needs to be improved, never seen a fish above 20lb out there (personally) they ram it with there own house pellet.
1 of the brothers shouted at my son, why are we using so big hooks, sorry but if your advertising 30lb fish, your not gonna use a size 22 hook, he also was firing actoss the lake with a ridle to shoot birds, while people fishing.

Hiya, another good video. Its a little off putting with the state of the fish, but if you think there ok that's good enough. The peg you was on a bit narrow< but that doesn't stop you. How did your dad do?

You must not fish yourself because if you would have you would know that you could fit 2 30s in that net and have loads more room left

I fished it a few weeks back on corn, had around 40 carp between 9lb and 14lb, couple of double runs. Best water I've fished in terms of catch rate.

Good morning, have you ever done a review on Blake Hall fisheries near Cheadle Stoke on Trent, it's my local go to 4 main pools and one very small pool usually used more by beginners and children, very very busy place especially on match day's, parking next to most Peg's but in my opinion Peg's are in need of maintenance. Great watching you thanks for all advice you give. Gwen 🧓
