Back again for yet another local fishery review. Today's session is at a woodland fishery by the name of croft fisheries in the Adlington / Blackrod area... BL65LH. The fishery is located right at the end of an industrial estate the post code should take you right there. Toilet facilities and well priced day ticket rates. Beautiful clear water fishery in a nice setting.
I approached the fishery with my usual method feeder tactics and had a really enjoyable day. Though pellet waggler is also meant to be effective also.

Feeder up tree, cup in the drink, hand stung on nettles, absolutly howling at that sequence, turned in to a great session

Well done Westy for handling the ‘ nerd’ situation. It’s amazing how thick skinned some people are, perhaps he was hoping to get on TV! We had a similar experience once when fishing with my daughter on a lake with loads of free pegs when another ‘Nerd’ set up in between us ! And the club clearly states to only do that when there are no free pegs , the general rule is to leave a free pegs between anglers. Keep them coming. Cheers Jim

Love the channel, for me this episode was hilarious, method feeder in the tree kicking the coffee cup in the lake getting stung by the nettles, I was was weting myself 😂 so glad I'm not the only one that these things happen to, absolutely brilliant so pleased to see you laugh about it and not throw a hissy fit 😂😂 keep up the good work 👏👏

Hey! Just wanted to say thanks to you for all your videos. Never feeder fished before and just got back into fishing after 12 years out. Your bread flake on the method gave me my best session ever yesterday. Fish not taking micros so switched to bread with 8mm pineapple wafter. Literally couldn't get the bail arm on before the rod bent round 😂. Snapped off 3 times in pouring down rain too and still had the best time. Keep the content coming!
If you keep getting broke I recommend swapping your hooklengths up to 12lb guru n-gauge and use size 10/12 feeder hooks 👌🏻I haven’t been broke since doing that 🎣
Great advice. I am using pre tied MCM-B but they are max 7lb so will have to bite the bullet and try to make my own.

You're very tolerant, one peg, if the fishery is quiet I would aim to be as far from others as I can! Fished a busy day recently and had an indepth conversation with the fella who had to go one peg up from me, to ensure we weren't fishing the same patch.
Fishing does throw up some right characters. Middle of the vid was gold, glad u didnt edit it out. Weve all had days like that 😂

i know how dad and you feel , i spent yesterday fishing the bottom , it looked good , no carp , pellet waggler 2 feet deep , at 4 oclock in the afternoon , 6 on the trott, happy days

Congratz on hitting 10k pal. Croft really does have some stunning fish, theres a massive orange koi in there somewhere. The commons and f1s look like they are carved out of dark oak, beautiful colours and strains. Reckon its cos all the lakes are spring fed.
It will be that, the clear water and maybe something to do the natural food sources ! Who knows !
Could well be. Regarding the fish ive had chub to 4lb, mirrors and commons to 11lb, f1s to 7lb, bream to 4lb as for other species gudgeon,skimmers,roach,rudd and its got perch over 4lb and pike in the low doubles.

My problem is I’m to stubborn. I start fishing a certain way and won’t change. Whereas Matt will think nothing of swapping a number of times trying different methods till he cracks it.

No I haven’t ! I have never fished in another country, though it’s on my list of things to do. So many fishing regulations in America I wouldn’t know where to start
If the lake is empty with a couple of anglers I'll fish as far away from them as possible. Just give other anglers space we're all there to relax and enjoy the day

Definitely Wrightington, Paul the owner is a top bloke and a well maintained fishery ! Crooke is good too ! Basically anywhere I fish on the channel 👌🏻

Had the same thing yesterday. 20 pegs, I was first one there and set up on peg 8 then 4 anglers turned up and took pegs 5,6 9 and 10 😅. Thought I had accidentally joined a match.

We've all had them days mate,another thing that annoys me is when they start knocking brolly pegs in, scaring the fih out of the margins.
You dealt with that well mate and cheers for another good video. Does anybody know whether it's possible to switch the rod rest on the feeder arm to an alarm? I only fish with one rod and really like those feeder chairs.
I have done it before 👌🏻 just screw a double bite alarm bar into the end of the rod rest but make sure it’s wide enough, but not too wide 💪🏻

Size 12 or 10 feeder hook normally for an 8mm wafter, all wafters have different buoyancy so play around with it 👌🏻

Do I need to use a scent for feeder fishing? I've fished around Scarborough a bit but have been quite unsuccessful. I've been using pellets, ground bait, and dynamite washters ES-L and still haven't managed to hook onto anything. my set up is an 11ft feeder rod with 10lb mono line. Any tips would be fantastic. Thank you.
No you don’t need a scent to catch fish buddy, it’s hard to give tips without seeing your full setup etc. Quality bait and wafters goes a long way. Follow all the tips in my videos down to the letter and you will catch I promise 🎣💪🏻👍🏻
Completely agree, i was a woodlands the other day and left 1 peg, (corner peg) then i fished, then free peg, then someone else was fishing. People left and there was free pegs all on the other side and i ended up with a guy, his wife and kid camped right on the corner peg. I was not happy but smiled anyway and was happy they enjoyed themselves, biting my lip though.
FREE Pegs all on the other side of the pond plus an entire empty lake as matches were finished. Ignorance? new to fishing? lazy? who knows but i baited in the reeds where he was fishing, had to move my gear around (obviously i cannot fish two pegs when he is fishing it now) so we didn't risk crossing lines. what a hmm nice fellow. Couldn't help but think of all the free pegs available, Ya know.
