I have the Nano but modded with an easy to do headband mod that infinitely improves comfort and voarmaks memory foam velour pads that removes the brightness peak and touches nothing else. You end up with planars that sound SO good, like being wrapped in a velvet sound blanket with just detail and bass and more detail and soundstage and just all the things.
Video of said mod and how it all looks up on my account for anyone interested, cheap too but is a bit of DIY so have an afternoon free to do it properly and it looks all OEM at the end.
I genuinely think after the mod that the Nano ends up being end game for me and many others who experience them after the mod.
Oh also, the stock hifiman pads are trash, plain and simple. When you hear and feel the voarmaks pads at under £20, it's night and day for comfort, quality and the mentioned improved sound.
Cable I am using is the Linsoul 4.4 balanced. Much lighter than stock cable and a bit shorter which is nicer for desktop use.
I put the Voarmak hybrid velour pads in my Amazon save for later list a couple of weeks ago and then just forgot about them. They weren't a priority because I HATE fighting with the HiFiman pad clips.
Other than that, the ONLY aspect of the Nano that ever bothers me at all is that treble peak near 7k. If the Voarmak velours tame that, then it'll definitely be worth the hassle.
HiFiman Ananda Nano has started to become a hidden treasure for mix and mastering engineers... and it is not even that expensive or that hard to drive

I have the Arya Stealth, which I love. But what's surprising to me is how good the Sennheiser HD600 is. I constantly find myself using the HD600 over all of my other, more expensive headphones. And I think I only paid $299 for them on sale. It took a few dozen hours of burn-in before the treble opened up on them. And now they're literally perfect.
The HD560s are another great bang for the Buck Sennheiser HP. It's sort of an HD600 with more/better BASS!! What's not to like?
I have the same problem but with my AD2000x's over everything else, which is currently around same price as HD 600...
They're so clear and detailed, and going from them to my Ananda Nano is just weirdly disappointing

Had the Nano for a few months and the sound is amazing, I just can't wear them comfortably because of the lack of earcup swivel. Definitely going to try a pad swap to something more pliable
Yeah comfort is mid. The Arya headband fixes it. Because same exact pads and shape. So Strange
@@ZReviews same deal, have the ananda nano and arya organic, much more prefer the fit and sound of the organic set. in fact, i prefer the sound of the organic over the focal clear (though they're built like a swiss watch)

Ananda Nano was my favourite headphones of the hifi show in my hometown. It was paired with the Felix-Audio EUFORIA EVO.
I've tried a LOT of the HIFIMAN Open Back Headphones and have concluded that the HE1000 Stealth (V4 is what I have) are their Best HP
yea thats my target as single hifiman headphones, for now I own Ananda Stealth which is really well tuned
@@soulfulfool I like the Ananda HP's a lot. It was one of the first HP's I ever had in the HP Hobby. It's probably one of the best tuned HP's right out of the box out there. No EQ needed whatsoever

you must review headphones as they come from factory.. dont change cables dont change pads. review the product as i will receive it... then afterwards do that and comment whether it improved or not with a new cable and pads
I can hate on that stuff and then swap it. I don't do it too often but a great product hidden under a relatively cheap upgrade is worth pointing out.
They sound awesome, but my pair was painfully clampy, if your head is not on a smaller side of things - be weary and get them from some place with no-questions-asked returns.
I had the same problem for the first week, but they loosened up a bit after that. I also helped them out by very carefully bending the metal part of the headband outwards.
Have HiFiman sent you the Mini Shangri-La system? Would love to see your review, not much out there yet on it. This kit would probably make me take that jump in electrostatic. Cheers!
So buy these or buy the he6se v2 open box for 399? I can’t make up my mind on what would be a better deal/headphone.
I am pretty sure the he6 series are pretty inefficient, or else i am pretty sure he6 will be a good option as well, or you can consider the edition xs, that's another pretty good deal
these will be more good all around, whereas the he6se v2 will do some neat tricks that this wont do.
The HE6SE will only be worth buying if you have a small nuclear power plant of an amp to power them. Even then, they're not outright better than the Nano's...just different. They hit harder and have a more lush sound, and because of that, they're more fun with certain music. But the Nano's are much faster, and I also hear them as being a bit more detailed.

got them for 350 and using a sound blaster x4 still sound great they are so precise and the bass so on point specialy when it comes to electronic like yello or gamesound i love them- maybe a x5 would make them even better but im not a audiophile so i assume i would not even notice the difrence

I actually prefer my Nano over my He1000 stealth. He1000 stealth is smoother and more refined yes, but nano is more energetic and punchy
Funny you post this now, last night I set my ananda nano’s down on my desk to get grab a drink, when I came back and put them back on the right side wasn’t working, still isn’t working. I set them down gently, the unit just said “ok fuck you”

Is ananda nano worth more than double the price of edition XS ? (235 vs 500usd in my country).Now I have a Meze 99 classics(new edition)and I'm quite happy with it but looking for an upgrade for a wider soundstage headphone. Mostly listen to live pop music and jazz, classical sometimes.

@@ZReviews Yes the HE1000se is a different set, used to be 3500$ but now on sale around 1699-1999$. It has a soundstage and depth unlike anything I have heard, including the other Hifimans though allegedly the Susvara can equal it.
@@harackmw The HE-1000 series is stupid. The stealth and the SE was already giving stiff competition towards headphones like the Utopia's or the LCD-4. Now with the permanent price cut to that lineup , you would be hard pressed to find anything that is as technical at less than $2000 now. I personally run the HEK stealths with the A70 pro and the D70 pro octo. I could maybe get the Susvara's but I honestly don't see a good reason to go past these.

I don't understand how HIFIMAN can afford to do these price cuts, because surely few people ever bought it at $3500. Then again this is the same company that has the 400se, which can be found in Asia now for 50$.
When you do the Arya organic vid - can you add pad-swapping if you have alternative pads laying around?
I fimed it already and didn't swap. The stocks on that are great and its comfy. Unlike here.

Not a fan of right angle plugs, in any case. I have zero devices where a right angle would be beneficial, hell at this point it might be a detriment based on bending.

For desk never right-angle. At this price point they can afford a straight cable and a right-angle adapter on the box.

@@ZReviews I would take it for the bedroom as a headphone amplifier, and I would also like to try it as a DAC and preamplifier for a system with Fosi ZA 3 and Klipsch rp 500, because no matter what it is, it is also praised as a headphone amplifier as a DAC,it seems to me like something good for playing and upgrading, it offers a lot of possibilities.. thank you very much on dedicated timea

A lot of digital ink is spilled and digital noise is made on the subject of HiFiMan headphones and I have read/heard most of it, and this is the first time anybody has ever mentioned this.

I wish you wouldn't have skipped the Ananda Stealth, I know you can't review everything and hifiman updates way too often but I have heard that the stealth is much closer to the nano than the older Ananda
Stealth got sweet tuning and from my experience with Hifiman many of their headphones tend to be sharp, of course it all depend on source

@@Natsumi170well it no longer matters as I am done with Hifiman... My stealths right driver just stopped working today after a little over a year so just out of warranty, I have seen it too often from hifiman, hard to pay that much when it is a gamble

I have the stealth and nano. They're totally different to each other. The nano are as Z says a league up. I've stopped listening to the stealth.

You can do that with most headphones. These I feel would handle it just fine.
