You just saved the day. I thought this would be easier then it is as far as what options to pick. With all of those items to choose from I probably never would have figured it out on my own. Thank you.
When you squeeze the brake control is was your trailer plugged in when I squeeze mine that gauge doesn’t go to 100 but it lets me use the plus and minus without trailer plugged in
It was without the trailer connected. I just double checked it and mine goes to 100 without a trailer connected and it also allows me to change the gain. Maybe just a difference in the year of the truck?
I just bought 2016 Ram with a OEM brake controller. When hook trailer up, lights on the trailer works. But truck indicates trailer not connected and brakes don't work. What could the problem be. Thanks for the help in advance. Brakes controller works in my other vehicle. Si don't think it te trailer.
Possible that the truck didn't come with an OEM trailer brake and someone installed it later and never programmed it or they programmed it incorrectly. Would advise taking it to the dealer and letting them check that it's actually programmed correctly. Otherwise, it may be a bad trailer brake module.
what # is on your brake controller I have a 2017 Ram with A2C7509200200 wondering if it should be A2C7509200100? programming isnt recognizing the trailer tried everything with Alpha OBD and even went to the dealer but they never checked the P/N
I did this on my 2016 and the brake gauge shows up every time I press the brake pedal, even without a trailer connected. also, the truck doesn't recognize the trailer when it's connected. braked work, but the gauge still says trailer brake not connected, any thoughts?
If you have an OEM module and switch I'd double check that it's programmed correctly. It should work fine with OEM parts and the correct programming unless there's an issue with the module or there has been some wiring changes/damage over the years.
Thanks for this video huge help!! However...my DT 2020, when i manually activate the trailer brakes, no trailer connected, the percentage gauge doesnt show any percentage value 0-100%. Thoughts??
Honesty I'm not sure for a 2020. If you have everything connected and the module enabled, it should work unless there is a fault in the switch, wiring, or the module. I was kinda anal and made sure I bought the oem module just to make sure I had at least the 12 month warranty through Mopar in case of issues, but so far so good. I'd just double check that everything is plugged in correctly, double check that it's actually programmed since if it isn't the dash display won't work. Hope you get it going.
Honestly I'm not 100% sure. I did a lot of research and found that this one does a ton of things for the Mopar line, that's why I went this route. Sorry.

Awesome, glad it worked!

Did you find a fix for this? I have the exact same issue on my 2018.

Do you have to have that exact obd scanner… I have one for running forscan for my 7.3 just curious to see if you have to have that exact one.

What is the indication of the need for security bypass cable?
Sorry, just saw your question. It is year related, I think 2018 and up needs the bypass but you probably already have the answer. Sorry!
Can you change the voltage output with this set up ?
I honestly don't know. I'm still learning the software, it's very capable.
