Favorite moment is probably in Cosmo Canyon, you’re trying to take pictures of stars and Cloud just takes over, points the camera at Aerith, and she calls him out on it. Just felt like a very real moment.

I'm so happy for her! I made a video many years ago of gamers reacting to the end of life is strange: before the storm. I used Briana cuz her reaction was great. Than so many years later I see her pop up in FF7. I was like wait I know that girl! She really is a star 🌟

Gotta love the ship wars man. Even after they make Aerith and Tifa best friends, the ship wars continue to rage stronger than ever. Everyone at Square are evil geniuses for making Cloud's feelings towards them ambiguous.... when in reality Cloud is a social expert playing the shy awkward kid, and his plan all along was to get BOTH Tifa and Aerith.

I actually don't think Cloud’s feelings towards Aerith and Tifa are ambiguous in the trilogy, the technology that shows so much of Cloud's face is pretty clear about how he feels between the two. Unfortunately I think a lot of people don't really appreciate this and only pay attention to Aerith in that relationship.
I always hear “but she is the best for him because she pushes him out of his comfort zone “ but someone that is always forcing you to do things you would rather not be doing is never a good romantic partner.
I think Cloud and Aerith have a genuine friendship but watching his body language, it's clear that he doesn't have any interest in doing her so called “dates” but does anyway because he is being nice.
Chapter 2 when there leave Kalm for example he is clearly not okay with her grabbing his arm and acting like they are dating and that is before Tifa even notices. The side quest in costa del Sol he straight up says that he wishes she wouldn't call it a date.
There is a lot of moments like this in rebirth that show Cloud has a deep friendship with her but his feelings are no more than that and its something that I really appreciate the devs doing is distinguishing his relationship with Aerith from his relationship with Tifa. The latter being very heavy with romantic tension
I've always seen it like this: Aerith is like the wise guru that Cloud NEEDS to give him the push to start his journey of rediscovering his true self.... But who is the one that helps him find himself again? It's Tifa. I think it's always been clear that Aerith is "the teacher," and Tifa is Cloud's actual true love... Even since he was a young boy, he loved Tifa. I think it's clear, but that's just my opinion.

OG Aerith was a sass pants and they muted that in Crisis Core and Advent Children (Similar to Dorky Cloud not being a thing) so fans who started their FF7 journey there first really missed out on that version of Aerith that THANK GOD is back in the Remake series.

Aerith is 100% sassy. People who had this saccharine sweet idea of a pure maiden weren’t paying attention in OG. They only saw what their cognitive biases wanted them to see.
It’s weird. She’s a way better character than that, so I don’t know why people are so precious about her being this pure maiden.
Its almost like they’ve put her on a pedestal or… altar of some sort
That criticism comes from a certain part of the fanbase who are always at each other's throats lol
This is going to be long, so forgive me pouring my opinions. I’m bilingual and spent my younger years in Japan, so I always play games or watch movies or anime in Japanese. You can’t beat the original language in subtle nuances if you know the language. (So I watch American movies in English, not Japanese dubs.) FF7 remakes is the first dub work I really enjoyed in English. The VAs did fantastic job I think.
Other English dubs in general have been cringy to me, don’t give me the impression they are really talking to each other. (Sorry dub fans! I know it’s each of their own.) I’ve always blame that to the American way of recording: just one actor in the studio, unlike Japanese way where all of the actors perform together in the studio, listening to others’ performances, feeling chemistry among themselves to build a world of the given story. I still believe that’s the best way, but the actors really did good for FF7 remakes, I can feel they “act” with their emotions. After reading and listening to the interviews, I realized it’s thanks to the voice acting directions. As far as I know, the directors were very careful to depict this intricate world of FF7 and the VAs superbly responded to the demand with their artistic skills.
I noticed there are still many nuances lost in the translation. That makes some difference in characters’ personalities and even sometimes affects plots (minor, but substantial if you know the difference), but I believe the localization team their best to make things sound as natural as possible considering the difference in time needed to say the same thing in different languages. So kudos to the localization team including the voice acting directors and voice actors. I’m glad Cody and Brianna played Cloud and Aerith in English version, and looking for their future work in any genre of performing arts.

Definitely the best Aerith VA so far. But the thing is that the better she is portrayed, the more unbearable the tragedy.
