Considering Farrah Fawcett's knowledge of Ryan's awful parenting of his current three children (and the whole world knew about it, so it's not like she didn't know), one has to question why she would have a child with him and why she would expect any sort of different outcome for her child.

She was in love with Ryan. He got her into drugs and that most likely changed her thinking about many things. She probably didn't see how bad things were. He kept the kids separate, they lived at the beach house while Farrah still lived in the house in the hills that Lee Majors purchased. She was away making movies as well. I'm sure Ryan kept many secrets from her. She didn't seem to be a bad person. I feel for her. Her life with Ryan was very painful. When she worked with him on their show Good Sports, he tried to take all her money from it. She said she would never work with him again. I think she would've had a totally different outcome if she never met Ryan. She probably would've lived longer too.

Hollywood has a lot of darkness around it. It’s just sad that the children of famous parents are the ones that suffer for it. One has to ask themselves if you want to have a career in the movie industry and have a child or children maybe you should think twice about it. They say maybe these people sell there soul to the one of darkness to be famous, maybe the soul is one of their children? As many interviews I’ve heard over the years from famous people they never mention about going to church with their family. Hollywood and the music industry does make these actors or performers do and say immoral things. I wonder if the people who run these industries attend church? “ I think not” MONEY is there God!

One of the problems for these top Hollywood stars is, they devote themselves to their career and hire someone to take care of their children.
Sigmund Freud warned about this because he had client after client who lived under these circumstances.
He said when one does this, one is hiring an employee and the person one is hiring is just that, an employee.
That person may not only have the child's best interest in mind but to make matters worse, may very well have their own agenda in mind for what they think is best for a child.
And agenda may not be all that good for a child's mental health.

The "nanny system" is an old aristocratic tradition. Showbiz celebrities in America are the equivalent of Victorian aristocrats. They couldn't be bothered with trivial things like tucking their kids in at night, making breakfast and seeing them off to school in the morning. I saw SO many celebrity "families" like this when I lived on Martha's Vineyard year round. Nannies are so easy to get but very hard to keep. Importing foreign "au pairs" from Brazil and Eastern Europe, for the summer season, meant they could easily trap in one girl per season. These were very young girls, too. American girls didn't want to do "double duty" as the kid's nanny and as a prostitute for dad and dad's buddies. The mothers were generally too self-absorbed to care about anything except how they look on the outside. I am generalizing about what I saw. But I will say I never saw a healthy family emerge from the aristocratic/celebrity nanny system.

@@jabbermocky4520 I know about the Christian Brando case. His mother got custody of the child because the judge saw it that way.
Marlon Brando was against this because he knew his x wife was not all there and not mentally fit to raise a child. She use to fire nannie after nannie.
Christian Brando wanted to be a big time actor which is difficult in itself. There are sons and daughters from big time actors and actresses that want to do this.
The parent will use his or her connection to get their child work. In most cases when this is tried it pans out eventually.
Before an actor or actress will be looked at for a big time role, he or she has to have a proven record to see if they have draw power because a film is a big time financial gamble.
A big problem for this is, children from rich parents are brought up in luxury and do not know what hard times are
and what the average person has to go through from time to time, such as struggling.
An example is when the children take over the family business, they usually run it into the ground.
Rich kids are not accustomed to working 12, 15 hours a day which is very often needed when one is running a business. Ask any restaurant owner.
Or generally rich kids come in second against the poor kids in a university with CGPA scores. The poor kids are hungry and that provides motivation.
Christian Brando fell to the wayside eventually started getting involved in heavy drugs.
He shot Dag Drollet in the head and there was no sign of a struggle with Marlon Brando's own gun. Marlon Brando tried to revive him with no success and called the police.
His father hired Robert Shapiro. He was Michael Jackson and OJ Simpson's lawyer as well. I think Christian served 7 years.
The loss of the boyfriend destroyed his sister who eventually committed suicide.
The shooting itself sounds like in his mind he was playing the part of Sonny Corleone trying to protect his sister from an errant boy friend.
He might have been on a drug craze.

They were given enough love and esteem until they knew they were worthy of self-esteem. If you aren't loved and valued by your parents, it's pretty hard to love yourself.
Trust is learnt in the first year. If you are cared for as an infant you learn that the world is a safe place. If you aren't looked after, if your needs are often unmet, you grow up with pain, anxiety and mistrust of everyone.

If he ever comes across this comment then take it as a reach out from the other side . After all what are the odds you Redmond would actually see or read this comment? Blessings to you Redmond we don't know what went on behind close doors but, its obvious you had something that occurred to put you within that old devil's temptation. He loves to smother torment all along awaiting for the exact time to snuff you out. Prayers millions have been since learning of your darkness. I'd love along with all who love your mother just to see you acting and making yourself a career in Hollywood. If one director would take a chance what a hero story you would be. Many would say if Redmond can do it than there truly is hope. Hope your dad is fairing as well as he can be. I also know your sister Tatum and brothers Griffith and Patrick at our ages now days would be there for you all the way. I don't say half siblings being one of 7 children with a step dad my siblings are my siblings. Screw that half bullcrap. Now get it done Redmond. Rest in peace Farah let it go Redmond will find it . Whatever it is that keeps him in hell . Blessings and many prayers to you all. Amen 💜🙏🏻💜

I am so tired of folks blaming parents the children have moths and eyes . Trust me when i say i know all too well what drugs and alcohol can do to a person . This is why i do not drink smoke or do drugs unless proscribed by a doctor and when given a proscription for pain meds i never take the whole allotted amount i just do not like how they make me feel as an adult i have had to cut folks out of my life because of their drug and alcohol use i am not a stick in the mud you do you babe but i do not want to be around it.

I feel sad for O'Neal. Having 1 mental illness is hard enough, but 2 plus a personality disorder? That's torture. Being born to wealthy, famous people must be extremely stressful. So many expectations, so many eyes... I can't even imagine the kind of strain that puts on a kid. I remember the Brando situation. Marlon looked absolutely devastated as he watched his son go through a freaking murder trial. When he pled guilty, you could see Marlon just die inside. It was heartbreaking. It was probably fortunate that he died before Christian did. I think that it would have just shattered his already battered heart.
