- Leon Draisaitl has just one year left on his deal and Connor McDavid has two. TSN Hockey analyst Bruce Boudreau shares his thoughts on the duo's window to win the Stanley Cup.
Why would they leave in the middle of a cup window for this team?
I've never seen sports broadcaster talk about player wanting to leave a team the way they do McDavid and Drasaitl. People really want to watch Edmonton sink and burn since we got McDavid. We must be the most hated team
They’re not 34 and 88 for the leafs.
At least they won't have to make that choice together. Mcdavid is signed for another year compared to Draisaitl
The oilers gotta win this thing no excuses no ifs or maybe
Its now or never
Alot of players i bet aren't gonna be back next year so they gotta do it now while they star power is there
The 2 Connors and Nurse go , massive riches and a #1 Goalie come back and King Leon stays to win a Cup. History says Mcdavid was never to win a Cup in Edmonton.
Who is to say they would ever get a Stanley Cup somewhere else? There is no guarantee. Stay with the franchise, become franchise legends. They have just the same probability of winning in Edmonton than anywhere else, so please stay.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE DALLAS GOALTENDER CAN'T STOP THE PUCK?
They carried the team to another wcf without a goalie again, they're all time top 3 ppg in playoffs history they can't do anymore
Colorado 2021-22 did NOT have a real starting goalie and they still WON IT ALL! 🤣🤣🤣
Champions have a #1 Goalie...Oilers have a Prince Ruperts Drop.
if they dont win it this year i think mcd abd drai will bolt
They lose, they’re gone. As a Flames fan, that brings me joy to imagine
Enjoy Huberdeau lol

The pain of us dismantling your team with one goal still stings, doesn't it?
The Oilers have proven more this year from the coaching change, the depth in scoring, the acquisitions during the season to show a commitment to going deeper into the playoffs. Leon and Connor need to keep the foot on the gas and adapting their play like they have all season. The stars will be a challenge, they have even more depth and the ability to roll 4 lines well so it's a true test. If the Oilers can win the series in less than 6 games they would stand a chance in the cup final.
i picked DAL to win but i like your realistic take. and yah your mcjesus/drai viewpoint makes sense. leon can go get max money and be the#1 featured piece for another team.
i got FLA in the east getting to the final. if EDM can get to the final it will def be a great series to watch. oilers big stars would be the biggest challenge for the panthers.
I’m not worried about McDavid leaving.. Drai on the other hand could EASILY go be a #1 paid player on another team so that does worry me as an Oilers fan
The San Jose Sharks with their German ownership worries me
Drai would be THE STAR in 3/4ths of the league's teams!
@@mrconfusion87he would deserve to be a #1 star. I'm tired of him getting overlooked even now.
Draisaitl would never leave McDavid if McDavid tells Drai he's staying.

The sad thing is that I wouldn’t even blame Drai if he doesn’t resign next year. We have to get close or win, this year or next. We’re in year 9 of mcdavid and going into a WCF with a goalie whose save % is 0.88%. Holland and other GMs had years to get us a solid goalie and failed. Why would you not go to an American team, pay way less in taxes, better weather and try to win there? I hope they both resign but at this point the problems that have always plagued us still exist. Super frustrating
