He was selling out arenas in the uk and Europe before COVID. He also set dates for the US but it all got put on hold. They say his popularity grew as quickly as oasis did. And he doesn’t have a record deal. Or very much radio play. He’s done everything through social media and word of mouth

Gerry's gigs have some of the best atmospheres of gigs i've been to- amazing what one man and a guitar can do. Although I love listening to his records, I prefer listening to him live as the energy at his gigs is a big part of his sound- I recommend watching him play Lullaby live at The Barras. The Dropkick Murphys also covered one of his songs (The Bonny) and released it as a B-side last year.
Probably the best version out there atm👍 Between his on stage energy and the awesome crowd participation, it is truly epic👊 My throat for a week after that was as if I smoked 100 Benson and Hedges a day😂😂
This man does his thing and needs no help from anyone or any premonition mtv or agent " we can make you big and lots of fame" . This probably why he is happy as he is. He doesn't look for a massive crib and cars . He will go down in history as I did what wanted to do . Thank you .
I'm Scottish and you guys have managed to get me into Gerry Cinnamon, cheers for that. I reckon you would love 'Creep' by Radiohead, 'Sit Down' by James and 'Chasing Rainbows' by Shed Seven. Keep on pumping out this great content, I love it 👍
He is basically saying you'll end up with nothing unless you change your journey. In other words, your life could be a walk in the park (canter), if the person wasn't a wanker (an idiot that can only gain any satisfaction alone by satisfying themselves). He is saying the roof is burning and it is raining outside to this person who is ignoring the issue, the wee crying shame is they will have no home, no love and they will get drenched eventually in their own self pity. Where were going and Sun Queen are fantastic tracks if you can watch and listen to them the way you did today. 👍 Great review as ever, braw. Please dae Primal Scream - Country Girl (Radio 1s Big Weekend 2006). They are a Scottish group from Glasgow.
I really hope he can too, he is independent artist 100% he needs people like you across the pond to help get his music out there. If Ed Sheerin can be famous our Gerry definitely can, here we fucking go!!!!!
I absolutely love this song. It’s positive, amazing, telling people to go for it, fight, fight through the bulshit , it means go forward but with caution.
If a horse is running at a canter it is going at an easy natural pace. So in Scotland if something is a canter it is easy, straightforward. Life should be a canter if you’re not a wanker.
Diamonds in the Mud is my favourite tune off both albums. About his growing up in Castlemilk , and all the surrounding areas. Proper people , rough working classes but decent people.
A canter is a horse running at a comfortable speed, as opposed to a full gallop. So life might be so much easier/more comfortable if you could just stop making trouble for yourself 😂
Horses Walk, Trot, Canter and Gallop. Their hooves hit the ground in different ways. A trot is like a fast walk. A canter is a jog for a horse. A gallop is a horse sprinting. (I've noticed that in Cowboy movies that Americans don't canter their horses and go straight from a trot to a gallop. I don't think it's a stride trained much in the USA).
while you're looking at Scottish bands, check out Biblical by Biffy Clyro from TRNSMT live as well. A bit different from Gerry, but on a different level.
You guys should check out Sam Fender if you're not already familiar, I know he's toured the US but I'm not sure how big he is over there. His debut album came out just under 2 years ago but his song writing is incredible and he's got such a versatile voice. Hypersonic Missiles, The Borders, Will We Talk and Dead Boys are all great places to start and that's not even scratching the surface!
Can’t believe you haven’t discovered The La’s yet dudes frontman Lee Mavers was idolised by Noel Gallagher for his song writing and image great band from Liverpool would love to see you react to “Feelin”live

U do know aswell lads he's in the Guinness world record books twice now first unsigned artist too sell out so many nights at Glasgow barrowlands (beating David Bowie record) also first unsigned artist too sell out a full stadium gig
Canter comes from horse racing. If a horse wins at a canter it means it won without going full speed. So to canter something is to do it easily. Gerry is saying life would be a canter if you were a wee bit less of a wanker
The use of canter in this song refers to how easy and relaxing life can be. If you were just a bit less of a wanker more than half of the time life would be easier, simpler and more paced just like the way the horse moves in a canter
Canter basically just means that something was easy, the exam was a canter, so like saying you strolled through it and had fun. Or it can just mean doing something easily.
I'm from the west of Scotland, the same as Gerry, a canter is something that's easy, like, its a doddle, piece o pish, easy peasy, no problem. all the best from bonnie Scotland :-) :-)

A canter is used in Scotland for an easy wee stroll. A football team may canter to a victory if they won really easily.
Always used in after a remarkable first album Gerry went for a canter and produced mediocre codswallop

Gerry’s music sounds better live imo. All his live tunes at TRNSMT are the ones - Diamonds in the mud (Live at TRNSMT) 🏴
Diamonds in the Mud is my favourite tune off both albums. About his growing up in Castlemilk , and all the surrounding areas. Proper people , rough working classes but decent people.
