Hello everyone!! so this started out as more of an animation meme but then morphed into its own thing, so while I didn't label this as an animation meme I did put a credit in the description for inspiring me.
BOTW was my first ever zelda game- i finished it last year and had a great time with it! And then playing through skyward sword for the first time (which i'm also enjoying btw) made me realize how much i appreciated the subtler and more tragic story botw told. I think its delivery was definitely clunky at times but the core of it was really good and compelling and I loved how much of it was told through the environment! zelda as a character was also great and i love her very much, and even link has a character arc if you go looking for it. this amv is just me shaking the shoulders of everybody who says botws story was bad and going YOURE WRONG ACTUALLY
Anyways my hot take is that the real villain of botw is society and putting heavy expectations on kids. feel free to talk to me about this in the comments ive been in botw mode for like 3 months and my roommate is getting sick of me!!!!

OHHHH THIS IS SOOO COOLLL!!! I love that it shows Zelda’s hardships with the goddess as well as her relationship with her father and Link too!!! Its also awesome to see how Link is serious and trying his best, since everyone really relies on him

One thing I’ll always be disappointed in is that on a handful of occasions they make it a point t mention Link is covered in scars and Robbie wants you to take off your shirt and show him the scars. Yet the game model has no scars visible to us. I want to see battle scarred Link.

I really love the imagery you used here!! Especially that shot at the start with all of the previous iterations of Link standing over the master sword before the hero of the wild and all the shots with Zelda and Link masked into the triforce, it's really cool :). The colours are so good and I just really like this

I felt more empathy for Zelda in your 30 second clip than I did in both BotW and TotK! Great job building character and emotion in such a short time. ❤

I am absolutely blown away by your staging and subtle visual metaphors! I especially love the shot of Zelda-as she stands in the water pleading to the goddesses for her powers to unlock-with the broken moon behind her. It’s such a powerful shot! The very last shot was amazing as well and that sudden turn was wonderfully animated.

I could say that this storytelling was even more beautiful than botw's narrative story, mainly because the animation spoke so much with so little. The coloring and the expressions are so majestic, and they gave both Zelda and Link even more complex character and emotional depth. I'm gonna repeat this for a whiiiile

This animation is SO GOOD that I keep thinking of it throughout the day until I watch it again. It’s so pretty and smooth and the lyrics fit so well! Also, I love how angry and bitter Zelda looks, as well as how tired Link looks. It fits them so well.
