    I remember searching for a video to help me learn this years ago to no avail. I recently stumbled upon this song and looked it up to see if a video was uploaded. I am extremely grateful for this. Now I can learn this immaculate piece of art.

    Thank you so much for posting this video. I came across your site looking for guitar tabs (I'm more of a guitarist really) but saw this and now have to learn this on piano (one of my favourite Aphex tracks this one). Beautiful

    Do you use a sustain pedal? Because there is so many overtones when there’s just whole notes like a sustain or something.

      Yes, very extensive use of the sustain pedal here to create these rich soundscapes.

    1:23 left hand plays c3 and d together.. what the
    also i think these chords are a bit off.. at the start its C4 and the 4th E together rather than c4 and the 3rd E

      I agree the chord you mentioned there is a 4th E missing but the 3rd E is still swinging softly. There is a lot of octavation in Aphex Twin's piano pieces, sometimes with stretches beyond that (like the c3 and d4). Playability is not much of a concern on his records since the piano parts are not played by a human. Though lots of classic piano pieces regularly require these stretches, so it is still doable. I hope this makes sense and thanks for pointing that out!

      @@KevinBalke I'm just now remembering to reply but thank you for letting me know! I hadnt considered that aphex is primarily electronic music so duh it makes sense this would be made electronically. I have been able to learn this with your video so thank you sm for these.

      @Harry I meant the 3rd E on the piano. Also thanks, OP had explained something similar lol

    • @uggggggghhhhh
      @uggggggghhhhh 2 года назад

      @Harry There are keys on the piano. You can count them.

    • @uggggggghhhhh
      @uggggggghhhhh 2 года назад +2

      @Harry Sorry, my original comment is old. At 0:45 the notes played in sync are:
      E3, G, C3, C4
      E4, E4, D, E3
      in my opinion, the correct notes should be:
      E3, G, C3, C4
      E4, E4, D, E4
      so the 4th C and the 4th E would be played together at the end of that little melody. it sounds closest to the track and the link attached also had those notes.

    I remember hearing this on my first year of college back in 2015. I was mostly high at that time and I only remember playing this track on repeat whilst driving up to Khaleej Salman (Salman’s gulf) in Jeddah Saudi Arabia alone in the dark with thinking about how I’m gonna make my footprint in the world. Now I’m 29 and never worked a day in my life and can’t even find a job because… I really don’t know why. Fk I’m tearing from this. University is a scam. The only useful thing about my Bachelor’s degree is that it make an excellent coster for my cups.
