When you took the practice exam, did you find that the test questions and your test scores were similar on the practice test and the actual exam? Thanks! :)

I got a 104 on the practice exam and needed 97 to pass. On the real exam I got 112 and need 100. The practice test definitely helped me to see the structure of the exam and I’ve heard it old exam questions so I highly recommend.

I did one class a week for about 3 months and studied here and there on my own. I studied the most in the last two weeks

You definitely need to be mentally prepared to sit for 4 hours. I had 9 mins left and took 4 breaks. Ppl need to make sure to take breaks during the exam.
Yes! It’s so long! I didn’t take a break b/c I wanted it to be over with but whew 😅 lol

Would you recommend the boot camp claas for someone that is only going for the BSW license test? I took the test once back in October 2021 and missed by 1 question...i haven't really studied since, but I want to finally get it done
Hmm I’m not sure I know it’s for LMSW & LCSW..I recommend asking them..sometimes there’s not a huge difference in the content of the exams or at least the strategy when answering the questions

I also took the boot camp course but the whole day event. Did you use the acronym that they provided during the test?? I have taken practice exams and I just seem to not be able to apply what I learn in these practice questions.
It took a while for me to learn how to answer the questions..the one day class wouldn’t have been enough. I didn’t memorize the acronyms but I knew it enough to apply it when needed

Alejandra Moreno you got this!! My best advice is to try to learn something new everyday b/c it all adds up. Whether it’s through youtube, behavioral app, practice questions etc.
What’s the difference between the LSW and LMSW credential? I’m in NJ and we take the LSW
It’s the same. Some ppl from NY take the LSW in jersey while in school since in NY we have to wait until after we graduate

I’m just starting my msw and the way that people are talking about the Licensure exam is making me nervous
Honestly it’s not that bad once you put the work in (learning how to answer the questions) I paid a lot overall for the boot camp classes but I wanted to give it my all so I don’t have to do it again

I took the practice exam 14 days prior to my exam which is in 9 days lol. I passed it. I have a massage scheduled the day before my exam. Now I'm going to brush up on stuff and try to relax

What did you use to study for the exams?
How often did you take the bootcamp classes?! I got their schedule and saw that they offer weekly classes and study session on Sunday for a couple of hours.
I did the weekly classes for about 2-3 months.
@@LifeCoachYvette What did the agenda for classes look like? Did they cover one topic each class or?
Yeah they follow the book they give which is short and only has the most important info. One topic per class and questions at the end. It was great for accountability because with a busy schedule I would’ve never made time but the classes force you to at least attend

I would recommend creating a timeline with the most important topics (code of ethics, personality disorder, defense mechanisms, diversity, macro, etc.) and also learning how to answer the questions b/c that is most important. Sent!
I need an accountability partner and also a structured way to study because I’m a visual learner. I get anxiety just thinking about the test because in the past I do not test well.

There are a lot of study groups on FB that help with finding an accountability partner. Also, Phillip Luttrell has some really good videos and sessions on testing anxiety. Sent the Code of Ethics!
I’ve tried the BOOTCAMP. How did you do to memorize. Acronyms?
I didn't memorize the acronyms but I understood it. For example, safety first, assessing before acting, etc. Also, knowing the answers to rule out (referrals/doing nothing). I memorized the recall content (theories, defense mechanisms, personality disorders, code of ethics)
@@LifeCoachYvette the recall content is also something I’m struggling with. What I’m doing is for example the defense mechanisms I’m writing the definitions in my own words and using examples in my own words. How long did you study for? My exam is scheduled for July because I could not get an earlier date. I keep checking though.
Once a week for 3 months..The quizlet app can also help with memorization

It's the pdf for the code of ethics in case you wanted to print it out. Definitely watch the RUclips videos listed in the description box and find a rhythm that works for you as far as studying. If you are a reader, the Apgar book has a lot of info. Best of luck!
