Agreed. The Samsung Vibrant has a 4" screen and it was released around 2010. The screen size is one of the only reasons holding me back from getting an iPhone.
Alex's statement was that "all Android offers is a big screen". My response simply pointed out why this is incorrect; I did not at any point use the word "better", as that is dependent upon one's criteria (as you stated).
"They shipped 60 million" No, they have not. That is the estimated total number of shipments by the end of 2013. None of what you have said is relevant to my statement. The Galaxy S 4 did in fact surpass the iPhone 5 in sales following its release, which means it would be incorrect to assert that they are "sitting on shelves".
I guess it's for the better that Apple doesn't hold that patent. What I like about this reviewer is the fact he's not too biased when it comes to his points; he emphasizes the fact that the way our markets are set up promote diversity. Not one phone is going to do the job for everyone, it's what matters to you, the individual and your needs. People need to stop being fanboys and appreciate what we have going on in the markets here.
[Continued] You can enjoy iOS without having to irrationally despise Android and vice versa. While the increased functionality of Android better suits my requirements, I am a frequent user of both platforms and they both excel in many areas. Finally, the comment response system does not appear to be working properly, so I should clarify that both of these comments have been directed towards "Alex Harris".
I think you forgot to mention the fact that this is the only smartphone on the market that has a 64-bit processor. For anyone who knows anything about CPU hardware knows this is a big deal. Probably worth mentioning...
You know what's really funny about the iPhone and it's iOS, is when they announce new features at their conferences that android has had for years. Once they announce the new features, the crowed goes crazy like it's the best thing since sliced bread lol. I'm just curious, do most people who own iPhones even realize that features on the iPhone are very limited compared to android devices? Just saying!
I've tried out my friends GS4 and some of the features didn't work a lot of the time since the phone was noticeably laggy and i found that pathetic since android has some great features but was preventing them from functioning due to the lag. The camera on the GS4 wasn't that impressive to me either. the one on my iPhone 5s is amazing and i love it. I have used many android phones and went back to iOS for the fluidity and lagless experience.
's' version is always just slight upgrade, if you want new design or body, then it will be ip6.. A7 processor is the major upgrade of 5s.. just like pc, the processor is the core of the upgrade... falling off but still they run out of stock on the first day of launch.. which statistic of "falling off" are you referring from?
I switched from the gs4 to the 5s and I love it I got tired of the stutter and lag I've been with android since the G1 this is my first iPhone and I can say the s4 was my last android device it's so smooth and fast I just love the fact that it's always smooth I hated the stutter
Actually, I have an Atrix. My brother has the 5S. The fingerprint sensor works just as well. I've used it since it first came out two and a half years ago. Don't go around blabbering about how we're android trolls and hating on android phones because they came up with it first. The fingerprint sensor on the Atrix and the 5S are made by the same company. It's just that Apple bought that company, so Motorola and other android's didn't have the hardware suppiers for fingerprint sensors after that.
I just don't understand why people keep complaining about phones being copied from each other??? Why does it matter? Just get the phone that works best for you and be happy!
Ay man tell me when you get 5S, or you already have it. Because I can decided should I stick to the android (but don't like it last couple of months cuz it keeps crashing) or should I go to iOS ... I really thinking about going on iOS but just collecting some suggestions right now :D Cheers
I just upgraded to a 5s a few hours ago. For me it was a huge upgrade because I was using the 4. I agree that the iphone 5 users are butthurt, I did the smart thing and waited to upgrade because I knew there was going to be a better iphone eventually.
My contract runs out mid november and I want an iphone just because ive lost my ipod and want something to put my itunes library on. Should I get the 5s 5c or 5?
Never had a smart phone before, and use to constantly bash apple cause I was too poor to buy one of their phones, but now that I have money this seems pretty awesome. Especially cause of the internal upgrades.
actualy you can put a better pile for every one who is using it,because loading case far outweighs the iphone and also if it falls stuche iphone charger is damaged or whatever, that would be a good idea
Tried this phone for almost a year. Really liked it. Went back to android a few months ago. Love my GS5 but now I want this again..lol. I love the size, looks, iOS is alright. May grab one of these 2nd hand off ebay..)
@acdinho80: that's relatively ignorant of you to say. There are many differences that are significant to anyone who knows anything about the technology and to most who don't.
Yes! I agree, i wanted the iphone 5 but only way anyone can get it now is if it's used or amazon, and you honestly never know what your getting on there.... =(
um... what about GS3 to GS4. Don't get me wrong, I love my GS3, but there isn't really anything new in the GS4. I can't see pixels on my GS3, the camera is great, and it runs cyanogenmod super fast...
I'd go with the nexus if you like android: faster updates if you care about the latest software. The Note 3 has beastly specs on paper and it's a great device, and you can always root to have the latest software. The iPhone is obviously different, and doesn't seem to have the greatest specs on paper compared to other devices, but it still gets the job done. It doesn't need a lot of power compared to android phone because no widgets, etc. I'm getting the iPhone, but it's all preference.
Why do so many of you insist that Apple HAS to make bigger screens to still compete? Didn't the iPhone 5s break Apple's sales record (with its 4 inch screen), over the opening weekend?
I've officially switched myself to android. I have my iphone 4 but in the past week I realized it. I used to blame android for being cheap and for copying, but I'm breaking down my barriers, I'm going with the phone that can do more. I bought a samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket I'm July and returned it in August because I thought, in order to have a perfect phone you HAD to use a launcher. But I was wrong. Using a launcher just wasn't a good enough experience. Should I make the switch again?
honestly i dont understand why people care so much about the design staying the same (btw the color changes too people) because i see alot of android phones that all look similar, but they get praised for everything about them. the iphone sticks out, and its design is beautiful, so why are people complaining? the specs are improved, and also everyone should know how it works by now, it goes 4-4s design, change to 5-5s, now 6 will be new. so please take a minute to think before you hate.
Apple iOS 7 pretty much looks at Android annd takes their good options. The quick access dashboard was in Android ages ago. The pyll down notifications bar was in Android since Gingerbread.
I have the iPhone 5s in white and love it or iPhone's I have was iPhone 4 & 4s also love the way you can use Emoji on the keyboard on the iPhone 5s as well.
I've had an Android since 2009. I used to have the iPhone, but honestly I think i'll try out the 5s just because of the screen. 4.7" to me is a little too big.
What he drew was like you were viewing the phone from the bottom. The iPhone 5 button is shaped like a contact lens. The 5s is more like a beer bottle cap
but have you used the iPhone 5s? Every review said it is noticeably faster than every other phone. also the new 64-bit architecture could mean a lot of great apps are coming up which can't be used on an ordinary droid. The problem with samsung is they introduce too many features...which would be nice if any of them worked like they were supposed to. or didn't take up 7GB of memory and hours of battery life.
Nice to see a reviewer give credit to WebOS, it was wayyyy ahead of it's time. Cards multitasking, swipe deleting, unobtrusive notifications, wireless charging, the list goes on. O what could have been....
I wish apple would put an hd screen on there phones also wish the iphones would have a bigger screen if they just did this they would sell so much better
First there was Noah, then Aaron, my two favorite PhoneDog reviewers.
Aaron. Love your videos. You deserve a raise.
Lol the Weather man " as you can see we got a couple nice days ahead". You slay me.
Getting the iPhone 5s was one of the best decisions I have ever made. My next phone will definitely be an iPhone
Im going from the samsung s3 to the 5s. Cant wait
Me too, at least i want it :D :D
george rukhaia me too lol
Excellent, comprehensive review, aaron!
Agreed. The Samsung Vibrant has a 4" screen and it was released around 2010. The screen size is one of the only reasons holding me back from getting an iPhone.
We still can't deny the fact that it still has a small screen. 4.7-5" is the sweet spot for watching movies and playing games
Did i missed you? Cause after my iPhone 5 i never watched your videos! Now I am going to watch this again!
I hope when the 6 comes out they still continue the 5s as a cheaper alternative just like they did with the 4s.
Alex's statement was that "all Android offers is a big screen". My response simply pointed out why this is incorrect; I did not at any point use the word "better", as that is dependent upon one's criteria (as you stated).
PhoneDog is awesome. Great reviews.
"They shipped 60 million"
No, they have not. That is the estimated total number of shipments by the end of 2013.

Sold my note 2 to get iphone 5s and I am loving it !

I miss this guy. He was awesome.

I'm watching this on my iPhone 5s now. Love it
wow!! cool!! i'm still waiting for 5s to arrive at my country.... whoaaah i can't wait!!!
Nice review!

I agree
The pull down notifications were in iOS for a while. I think they simply gave it a better facelift (closer to Android).
The thing that suck is people that have iphone are just now getting some of the features android have had for a while now and still no nfc
damn those sl0w graphic transitions...takes forever
nice review!!
Im going FROM Galaxy S4 to this beauty! Haven't had an iPhone since iPhone 3GS.
But with the combination iOS 7 and 5S, this shit's a beast!
I don't know which android phones you use but i've been running my nexus 4 for over a year and it is perfect.
People, a phone is a phone. Just pick one you like and use it. No need to bad on anything... Just buy one, use it, and continue on with life...
's' version is always just slight upgrade, if you want new design or body, then it will be ip6.. What matters to you in YOUR device! Perfect
I switched from the gs4 to the 5s and I love it I got tired of the stutter and lag I've been with android since the G1 this is my first iPhone and I can say the s4 was my last android device it's so smooth and fast I just love the fact that it's always smooth I hated the stutter
i always wondered what happen to Noah , why isn't he doing reviews anymore?
The numbers dont lie... HTC one : 2gb RAM, insane speakers , 1080 x 1920 display. IPhone : 1gb of RAM,moderate speakers and only a 640 x 1136 display.

the part were he drew the home bottoms killed, looks like he winking lol
I ordered my iPhone 5S and it won't ship till October 21 will it ship sooner?
What phone do you have that it still runs ics
I just don't understand why people keep complaining about phones being copied from each other???
Why does it matter? Just get the phone that works best for you and be happy!
can you explain the notification center for "next destination" cause i dont see that in my notification center
Ay man tell me when you get 5S, or you already have it. Because I can decided should I stick to the android (but don't like it last couple of months cuz it keeps crashing) or should I go to iOS ... I really thinking about going on iOS but just collecting some suggestions right now :D

Even though the iPhone 5s only had a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz, it was a powerful little chip.
Apple says 4" is perfect. I wonder what they will to say next when they decide to make the screen bigger for the next upgrade.
I just upgraded to a 5s a few hours ago. For me it was a huge upgrade because I was using the 4. I agree that the iphone 5 users are butthurt, I did the smart thing and waited to upgrade because I knew there was going to be a better iphone eventually.

Do you hear something? I think that's the Motorola Atrix laughing at "revolutionary" Touch ID.
actualy you can put a better pile for every one who is using it,because loading case far outweighs the iphone and also if it falls stuche iphone charger is damaged or whatever, that would be a good idea

He didn't blink for entire intro!!!
it smashed all galaxy records sold in the weekend
@acdinho80: that's relatively ignorant of you to say. There are many differences that are significant to anyone who knows anything about the technology and to most who don't.
what did they copy exactly ?
I wish there was no 5C that Apple just kept the iPhone 5
Yes! I agree, i wanted the iphone 5 but only way anyone can get it now is if it's used or amazon, and you honestly never know what your getting on there.... =(
Then get a 5s. its the same design
I already have the 5c lol
I might try the iphone, been on android since forever.
um... what about GS3 to GS4. Don't get me wrong, I love my GS3, but there isn't really anything new in the GS4. I can't see pixels on my GS3, the camera is great, and it runs cyanogenmod super fast...

you turned into a meteorologist for a couple of seconds :)
Gettin an LG G2 tomorrow. Not touching iPhones
I ordered this yesterday.
Why do so many of you insist that Apple HAS to make bigger screens to still compete? Didn't the iPhone 5s break Apple's sales record (with its 4 inch screen), over the opening weekend?
This 5s looks awesome so cool.
The iphone 5s has its ups and down. All phones have its ups and downs lol. Nice Review
ok i dont think going into iOS7 features has anything to do with how the iPhone 5S is different if the 5 has it and so does the 4S.
agree to you Brogan !!
I miss him too.
when's the give away for this device?
I love my new 5s I never have to input my password and the slow mo feature is very fun
I've officially switched myself to android. I have my iphone 4 but in the past week I realized it. I'm gettting this in gold
He means the button on the iPhone 5 is a curved concave while on the 5s its a flat button with slanted edges
Obv. a fan boy come back here when you look at other phones and their specs.
honestly i dont understand why people care so much about the design staying the same (btw the color changes too people) because i see alot of android phones that all look similar, but they get praised for everything about them. the iphone sticks out, and its design is beautiful, so why are people complaining? the specs are improved, and also everyone should know how it works by now, it goes 4-4s design, change to 5-5s, now 6 will be new. so please take a minute to think before you hate.

the texting would be cool if you could add your own background , instead of looking at the plain white background
Can you do a dogfight between the note 3 and the 5s
Will android kitkat go out to htc one?
I have the iPhone 5s in white and love it or iPhone's I have was iPhone 4 & 4s also love the way you can use Emoji on the keyboard on the iPhone 5s as well.
When will this be on Cricket Wireless?
Where do you get that background?
I've had an Android since 2009. I used to have the iPhone, but honestly I think i'll try out the 5s just because of the screen. 4.7" to me is a little too big.
u have a meteorologist voice lol i realized when u were explaining the temperature
What he drew was like you were viewing the phone from the bottom. The iPhone 5 button is shaped like a contact lens. The 5s is more like a beer bottle cap
I use both Android and iOS. But I'm still loving my HTC One!
totually agreed, well said!
Anyone have an idea when the iPhone 6 will come out?
Same here. He loved taking off that sticky transparent sticker stuff off the phone. :'(
but have you used the iPhone 5s?
Every review said it is noticeably faster than every other phone.
also the new 64-bit architecture could mean a lot of great apps are coming up which can't be used on an ordinary droid.
The problem with samsung is they introduce too many features...which would be nice if any of them worked like they were supposed to.
or didn't take up 7GB of memory and hours of battery life.
They allegedly sold 9 million of iPhones. They didn't say which ones. That means 4s, 5s or 5c together.
where the 5c video?which is better 5c or 5s?i like 5c more colore to choice from..
Whats the point of making seperate parts !?
Just got this phone yesterday
I've had a android phone since the G1...I absolutely love my 5s...the apps are a hello of a lot better
Search for Apple A7 specs... It's still 1.3 GHz. Literally the only thing that changed is the fact that it's now a 64 bit processor.
if i buy this phone online at apple does it come unlocked
yes. there is the option of choosing it unlocked
Nice to see a reviewer give credit to WebOS, it was wayyyy ahead of it's time. Cards multitasking, swipe deleting, unobtrusive notifications, wireless charging, the list goes on. O what could have been....
Aaron, you're freaking me out! You didn't say "iconic" ten to twenty times while describing the iPhone!
Im going for the motorola razer, been waiting for 7 years
I wish apple would put an hd screen on there phones also wish the iphones would have a bigger screen if they just did this they would sell so much better
Sweet I live in Dallas too
